COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING KELOID
Provided are a composition for treating or preventing recurrence of keloid comprising tauroursodeoxycholic acid as an active ingredient, and a method for treating keloid or preventing recurrence of keloid using the composition.
Peptide inhibitors of insulin-degrading enzyme
The present disclosure describes novel peptides, including peptides that inhibit the proteolytic activity of insulin-de-grading enzyme (IDE). Also described are cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations including these peptides, as well as a treatment method aimed at improving the appearance and/or texture of skin and/or promoting wound healing and a method for treating diabetes. The disclosed peptides and formulations are particularly useful for addressing the problem of impaired wound healing in diabetes.
HYALURONIC ACID-BASED GELS INCLUDING LIDOCAINE
Disclosed herein are cohesive soft tissue fillers, for example, dermal and subdermal fillers, based on hyaluronic acids and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. In one aspect, hyaluronic acid-based compositions described herein include a therapeutically effective amount of at least one anesthetic agent, for example, lidocaine. The present hyaluronic acid-based compositions including lidocaine have an enhanced stability and cohesivity, relative to conventional compositions including lidocaine, for example when subjected to sterilization techniques or when stored for long periods of time. Methods and processes of preparing such hyaluronic acid-based compositions are also provided.
GRAFT COPOLYMER
A graft copolymer comprising: a core polymer comprising a crosslinked or non-crosslinked polysaccharide, a plurality of primary graft polymers covalently grafted to the core polymer, a plurality of secondary graft polymers covalently grafted to each primary graft polymer, an injectable dermal aesthetic formulation comprising such a graft copolymer and a method of preparing such a graft copolymer.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MODIFYING KERATINOUS SURFACES
An apparatus and method for depositing a particulate containing composition onto mammalian skin such that when the particles contact the mammalian skin they have a momentum defined by ρvr, which is within the range of about 0.1 kg/ms≦ρvr≦about 12.0 kg/ms. The particles can be in the range of from about 10 nanometers to about 10 micrometers, in size. And the particles may be selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxide, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, polyvinyl chloride, glass, silica and mixtures thereof. The particles are imbedded below the first layer of dead skin cells in the stratum corneum but they do not pass all the way through the stratum corneum into the living cells of the epidermis or dermis layers of the skin.
CAPABILITY OF SMALL-SIZED STEM CELLS TO STIMULATE HAIR GROWTH AND USE THEREOF
Provided are a composition for preventing hair loss and stimulating hair growth, which includes small-sized stem cells, particularly, small-sized stem cells having a diameter of 8 μm or less, or a culture thereof as an active ingredient, a method of preparing the same, and a use of the same. Provided is a use of the composition utilizing a hair growth stimulating function of the small-sized stem cells having a diameter of 8 μm or less to considerably increase activity of hair follicle stem cells in a telogen phase.
Crosslinked polysaccharides and related methods
Methods of forming cross-linked polysaccharides are disclosed in which one or more polysaccharides are dissolved in solution, gelled, modified to have a desired concentration, and subsequently irradiated. The irradiation of the gel crosslinks the polysaccharide(s) present. The disclosed techniques may be applied to various polysaccharides, including but not limited to agarose and/or hyaluronic acid.
Methods and compositions of bile acids and salts for reduction of fat
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for treating fat deposit accumulation in a subject. The invention provides a non-surgical method for reducing fat deposits comprising administering an effective amount of a fat-lysing concentration of one or more of cholate and chenodeoxycholate in a pharmaceutically acceptable formulation to the subject in need thereof.
KIT AND COSMETIC PROCESS USING MICRONEEDLE SHEET
The present invention relates to a kit comprising: at least one microneedle sheet (1) comprising a substrate layer and a plurality of microneedles on the substrate layer, the microneedles comprising at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer; and a device comprising an applicator (2-3) comprising an application surface, a container (2-1) comprising a cosmetic composition and a valve, wherein the microneedle sheet (1) is capable being attached to the applicator (2-3) by attaching the substrate layer of the microneedle sheet to the application surface, the applicator (2-3), the container (2-1) and the valve are configured to supply the cosmetic composition via the valve onto the microneedle sheet (1). The kit according to the present invention can prevent the repeated use of microneedles (1), and can apply a cosmetic product in an easy and sanitary manner.
Products derived from amniotic fluid and methods of use
Uncultured amniotic cell and protein fraction products derived from amniotic fluid and methods of preparing and using those compositions are provided. According to the methods of the present invention, uncultured amniotic cell and protein products may be derived from a large sample of amniotic fluid to provide a higher concentration of tissue regeneration components. Described are methods for separating uncultured amniotic cells or protein fractions from other components of amniotic fluid and the resulting uncultured amniotic cell and protein products. Furthermore, the present invention includes methods for delivering the uncultured amniotic cell and protein products to the skin and eye, including before, during, or after a treatment procedure.
