DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CLEANING VEHICLE SURFACES
A purification device for cleaning one or more surfaces of a vehicle, the purification device configured to apply a purification process onto the one or more surfaces of the vehicle, the purification device includes a heating device for increasing a temperature of the surface.
X-RAY IRRADIATION REAL TIME DOSE MEASUREMENT/MONITORING
A product sterilization system includes a vault, a source of X-rays in the vault producing a field of X-rays in a treatment zone, a conveyance delivering products to the treatment zone for irradiation by the field of X-rays, a first X-ray detection subsystem in the treatment zone between the products and the source of X-rays, a second X-ray detection subsystem in the treatment zone behind the products, and a controller subsystem responsive to the first X-ray detection subsystem and the second X-ray detection subsystem and configured to determine an X-ray dose absorbed by the products.
System and Method for Ultra-Close Proximity Irradiation of Rotating Biomass
An irradiation system is provided which comprises a cabinet housing one or more X-ray tubes providing an irradiation source for a biomass contained within a cylindrical container arranged on a rotating device. The X-ray tubes generate directional X-ray beams and are provided in ultra-close proximity to the container, and the X-ray tubes can be configured to traverse the container. The rotational movement and traversal during the irradiation process ensure a more even irradiation of the entire biomass in the container.

Surgical instruments
A surgical instrument is disclosed including a transducer configured to provide vibrations along a longitudinal axis, an end effector operably coupled to the transducer, and a stationary lower jaw extending parallel to the end effector. The end effector extends along the longitudinal axis. The end effector comprises a blade. The stationary lower jaw comprises a clamp face positioned distal to the blade. The end effector is movable relative to the stationary lower jaw to drive the blade distally towards the clamp face. The end effector comprises a hollow lumen. The end effector further comprises at least one member extended across a portion of the hollow lumen.
APPARATUS FOR IRRADIATING GOODS LOADED IN TOTES
An apparatus includes a radiation source configured to emit a radiation along an irradiation volume, and a conveyor configured to drive goods loaded in two or more transport units through the irradiation volume so as to expose a first portion of the goods to the radiation. The transport units may be loaded in totes of a tote height, and the conveyor may be configured to drive the totes. The totes may be arranged on top of one another, and each transport unit may be held in place in a tote by one or more support elements such that a total height of the totes is between 40% and 100% of the tote height, the transport units are loaded in a tote span over at least 70% of the total height, and the total height is centered relative to the tote height within about 20%.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IRRADIATION
Technology is described to uniformly apply doses of radiation to a target material. An irradiation device may comprise an enclosure configured to receive a target material and a source configured to emit primary radiation within the enclosure. The primary radiation may be configured to irradiate at least a first portion of the target material. The irradiation device may further comprise a scattering medium disposed within the enclosure. The scattering medium may be configured to produce secondary radiation through scatter interactions in response to the primary radiation, the secondary radiation configured to irradiate at least a second portion of the target material. A thickness of the scattering medium relative to the primary radiation may have a thickness of at least 3 millimeters).
Universal Chemical Processor
A universal chemical processor (UCP) including a reactor vessel with a main chamber, comprises inlets for feedstock, a fluidizing medium and reactants. The UCP further includes a reactive X-ray chemical processor (RXCP) having a large area hollow cylindrical cold cathode in the main chamber, a grid positioned concentrically with respect to the cathode, and an anode positioned concentrically with respect to the cathode and grid. In operation, when activated, the cathode of the RXCP emits electrodes onto the anode, which then emits X-rays into a radiation zone within the main chamber capable of ionizing feedstock and reactants, inducing chemical reactions, and sterilizing and decomposing organic materials within the radiation zone, and wherein, a fluidized bed is supported in the main chamber when the fluidizing medium and feedstock are supplied. The RXCP and the fluidized bed portions can be operated separately or in conjunction to achieve unanticipated results.
