ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USING THEREOF
Disclosed herein are compositions (e.g., sprays, paints, etc.) that comprise antimicrobial zeolite nanoparticles. Also provided are hemostatic compositions comprising zeolite nanoparticles, dryer sheets comprising zeolite nanoparticles, and textiles comprising zeolite nanoparticles. Also disclosed are compositions (e.g., sprays) that include a binder polymer to improve coating adherence. In some cases, the zeolite nanoparticles can further comprise an optical tracer (e.g., a fluorophore) associated with the zeolite nanoparticles. The optical tracer can be interrogated to confirm presence of the zeolite nanoparticles (or a coating comprising the zeolite nanoparticles) on a surface. Also provided are methods of forming viricidal coatings using compositions that comprise zeolite nanoparticles dispersed in a carrier.
Bioimplant
Provided is a bioimplant which is capable to inhibit the biofilm formation over a long period of time after an operation. The bioimplant of the present invention comprises a base material of metal, ceramic, or plastic and a thermal spraying film of a calcium phosphate-based material formed at least partially thereon and the silver concentration in the thermal-spray film is 0.05 wt % to 3.00 wt %.
NANO FIBROUS POLYELECTROLYTE COMPLEX FOR RAPID CONTROL OF HEMORRHAGE
A polyelectrolyte complex includes nanofibers. The nanofibers include at least one polycationic component and at least one polyanionic component. The nanofibers have a diameter in a range of 20-100 nm. A process for preparing the complex, a method of using the complex, a kit which includes the complex, and a method of inhibiting loss of blood from a wound site by applying the complex to the wound site are also provided.
Methods and compositions for wound healing
The present invention relates to large scale manufacture of nanoscale microsheets for use in applications such as wound healing or modification of a biological or medical surface.
ANTIMICROBIAL MEDICAL BIOMATERIAL AND A METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME
An antibacterial medical biomaterial includes an acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material, an antibacterial gel layer located on a surface of the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material, and an absorbable fiber layer located on a surface of the antibacterial gel layer. Sulfadiazine silver is on the surface of the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material and/or within the acellular small intestinal submucosal matrix material. An absorbable fiber layer to which the sulfadiazine silver is attached, wherein the content of sulfadiazine silver in the absorbable fiber is 1 wt. %˜2 wt. %. The medical biomaterial is usable as an external medicine for treating wound infections relayed by burns or wounds, and for reducing the incidence of infection by using a conventional central venous catheter with a sulfadiazine silver antibacterial coating, so that the medical biomaterial loaded with sulfadiazine silver also has antibacterial activity consistent with sulfadiazine silver.
Hemostatic devices
Hemostatic devices for promoting blood clotting can include a substrate (e.g., gauze, textile, sponge, sponge matrix, one or more fibers, etc.), a hemostatic material disposed thereon such as kaolin clay, and a binder material such as crosslinked calcium alginate with a high guluronate monomer molar percentage disposed on the substrate to substantially retain the hemostatic material material. When the device is used to treat a bleeding wound, at least a portion of the clay material comes into contact with blood to accelerate clotting. Moreover, when exposed to blood, the binder has low solubility and retains a majority of the clay material on the gauze. A bandage that can be applied to a bleeding wound to promote blood clotting includes a flexible substrate and a gauze substrate mounted thereon.
Medical device containing a multi-ply knit fabric
A medical device comprising a device that covers at least a portion of a patient's skin and has an inner surface designed to be in contact with the patient's skin. It contains a multi-ply knit fabric that contains a first knit ply and a second knit ply. The first knit ply contains a plurality of first yarns and forms the upper surface of the fabric. The second knit ply contains a plurality of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) yarns which forms the lower surface of the fabric. The first and second ply are integrated through combined portions formed by interlacing first yarns among the PTFE yarns, interlacing PTFE yarns among the first yarns, and interlacing a plurality of third yarns among the first and the PTFE yarns. The multi-ply knit fabric also contains a composition comprising at least one silver ion-containing compound on at least the upper surface of the multi-ply knit fabric.
NATURAL TISSUE SCAFFOLDS AS TISSUE FILLERS
Tissue fillers derived from decellularized tissues are provided. The tissue fillers can include acellular tissue matrices that have reduced inflammatory responses when implanted in a body. Also provided are methods of making and therapeutic uses for the tissue fillers.
Composition comprising amino acid polymers and a bioactive agent and method of preparing thereof
A method of treating, reducing or preventing bacterial infection in a wound, the method comprising: applying a film on the wound, the film including a biodegradable polymer with bacteriophages dispersed therein, wherein the polymer is a poly (ester amide urea).
MEDICAL PRODUCTS INCLUDING SILVER ANTIMICROBIAL, HYDRATION MEIDUM AND A STABILIZING AGENT
Medical products including hydrophilic coating containing silver antimicrobial, hydration medium and a stabilizing agent.
