Stents having a hybrid pattern and methods of manufacture
An intravascular stent and method of making an intervascular stent having a hybrid pattern a. The hybrid pattern comprises a plurality of circumferentially self-expansible members comprising a plurality of interconnected, geometrically deformable closed cells, adjacent self-expansible members interconnected by a plurality of bridge members linking a first interconnection between two closed cells in a first self-expansible member to a second interconnection between two closed cells in a second self-expansible member, wherein the second interconnection is circumferentially offset and non-adjacent to the first interconnection.
Fused quartz container having low levels of surface defects
A quartz glass container is shown and described herein. The quartz glass container exhibits a low concentration of surface defects on an inner surface of the container. In aspects hereof, the container may have a surface defect density of 50 or fewer surface defects per square centimeter within a 1 cm band centered 1 cm from the base of the container.
Infusion pump and infusion method dedicated for stem cell
The infusion pump for stem cells includes a liquor storage device and an infusion pipe. The inner wall of the liquor storage sac of the liquor storage device and inner walls of the infusion pipe are provided with an anionic protective film to prevent stem cells from adhering to the infusion pump by mutual repulsion between anions. The infusion method includes checking an infusion pump for integrity, losing a liquor stop clamp, injecting a mixed liquor of stem cells and medicine, covering a protective cap, opening the liquor stop clamp, closing the liquor stop clamp for use, connecting an external cone joint with a venous cannula, and then opening the liquor stop clamp. The method also includes steadily placing the liquor storage sac on a horizontal plane using an auxiliary placing device, and after infusion ends, closing the liquor stop clamp, and disconnecting the external cone joint.
BIOABSORBABLE STAPLE COMPRISING MECHANISMS FOR SLOWING THE ABSORPTION OF THE STAPLE
A surgical staple comprising a substrate and one or more coatings which slows the bioabsorption of the substrate. The coating can be selected so as to affect the environment surrounding the staple once the staple is implanted in the patient. The effect on the environment can cause the bioabsorption to occur within a desired time frame.
Electrically conductive ear tips
An earpiece includes an earbud that supports at least one electrode, and an ear tip that includes a hydrogel. The ear tip is configured to be coupled to the earbud such that the hydrogel overlies the at least one electrode and such that the hydrogel is disposed between the at least one electrode and the user's skin when the earpiece is worn.
Synergistic antibacterial activity of medium polarity oils in combination with antibacterial agents on bacterial biofilms
The compositions of the present invention comprise at least one medium polarity oil and at least one antibacterial agent, the combination of which produces a synergistic antibacterial effect against bacterial biofilms. Methods are disclosed for the reduction of bacteria in and/or elimination of bacterial biofilms on biological and non-biological surfaces, as well as methods for the treatment of wounds, skin lesions, mucous membrane lesions, and other biological surfaces infected or contaminated with bacterial biofilms.
Bio-Material Composition and Methods of Use in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery
The present disclosure provides a bio-material composition and method of use in craniomaxillofacial surgery. An example method comprises: accessing a space defined between adjacent bone structures in a head of a patient; mixing magnesia, potassium biphosphate, and a calcium phosphate with an aqueous solution to form an activated bone fusion slurry (ABFS); applying an effective amount of the ABFS to the space between the adjacent bone structures; allowing the ABFS to set forming a bonded bone structure; and permitting bone growth into the bonded bone structure providing fusion of the two adjacent bone structures, wherein the ABFS promotes fusion of the two adjacent bone structures without the need for additional physical fixation devices.
Implantable medical device having a biocompatible circuit board with embedded electrodes
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to implantable medical devices (IMDs). In an exemplary embodiment, an IMD comprises: a housing including a plurality of feedthroughs extending through the housing, a first electrode, a second electrode, and a biocompatible circuit board disposed around an outer surface of the housing. The biocompatible circuit board comprising a plurality of traces, wherein a first trace of the plurality of traces is coupled to the first electrode and a first feedthrough of the plurality of feedthroughs, and a second trace of the plurality of traces is coupled to the first electrode and a second feedthrough of the plurality of feedthroughs.
UNIFIED METHOD SWEAT SAMPLE COLLECTOR
Described are devices and methods that that include at least one sweat stimulating and collecting material, which can be a sweat stimulating and collecting iontophoresis material. In methods of stimulating and collecting sweat, the method may include (1) stimulating the production of sweat in a subject by delivering at least one sweat-stimulating substance out of a material and into contact with the skin of a subject, and (2) collecting at least a portion of the sweat in the material. Methods in accordance with principles of the present invention can also include transferring the material to a container, removing the material, and analyzing the sweat captured therein.
APYROGENIC PREPARATION CONTAINING NANOPARTICLES SYNTHESISED BY MAGNETOTACTIC BACTERIA FOR MEDICAL OR COSMETIC APPLICATIONS
A non-pyrogenic preparation containing nanoparticles synthesized by magnetotactic bacteria for medical or cosmetic applications. The nanoparticles are constituted by a crystallized mineral central part including predominantly an iron oxide, as well as a surrounding coating without material from the magnetotactic bacteria.
