Aseptic aerosol misting device
A handheld misting device has a housing having a dispensing window is arranged and configured to contain a sonic generator, a power source coupled to the sonic generator, a plurality of reservoirs, each containing a liquid, and a plurality of nozzles, each nozzle arranged and configured for removable coupling to the sonic generator. Each nozzle is associated with and in liquid communication with a single reservoir. The sonic generator includes a converter and an elongate horn having a proximal end coupled to the converter and a distal end, and the nozzle is removably coupled to the distal end of the horn. Thus, the device delivers the liquid through a delivery opening formed in the nozzle, and activating the sonic generator energizes the liquid in the nozzle to generate an aerosol plume that is delivered through the dispensing window.
Smoking device
Apparatus and methods are described for use with a portion of plant material that includes at least one active ingredient. A vaporizing unit includes a heating element configured to heat the plant material, and a sensor configured to detect an indication of airflow rate through the vaporizing unit. Control circuitry is configured to receive an indication of the airflow rate through the vaporizing unit, and, in response thereto, to determine a smoking profile that is desired by the user. The control circuitry drives the heating element to vaporize the active ingredient of the plant material by heating the plant material according to the determined smoking profile. The control circuitry dynamically updates the smoking profile in response to changes in airflow rate over the course of a smoking session. Other applications are also described.
MEDICAL AGENT INHALER
A medical agent inhaler includes a body that is provided therein with a container accommodating chamber, a tubular mouthpiece that protrudes upward from the body, an inhalation passage having a first end that is open to a container accommodating part and a second end that is open to an upper end of the mouthpiece, a container that is accommodated in the container accommodating part and is provided therein with a medical agent accommodating chamber of which an upper side is formed as an opening, the container being capable of switching positions between a dosing position where the opening of the medical agent accommodating chamber is communicated with the inhalation passage and a storage position where the opening is separated from the inhalation passage, and an inflow passage that is disposed on the body to be positioned closer to the upper side than the container accommodating part.
Vaporizer for vaporizing a constituent of a plant material
Apparatus and methods are described for use with a vaporizer that vaporizes at least one active ingredient of a plant material. In response to receiving a first input to the vaporizer, the plant material is heated, in a first heating step. An indication of the temperature of the plant material is detected, and, in response to detecting an indication that the temperature of the plant material is at a first temperature, the first heating step is terminated, by withholding causing further temperature increase of the plant material. The first temperature is less than 95 percent of the vaporization temperature of the active ingredient. Subsequently, a second input is received at the vaporizer. In response thereto, the plant material is heated to the vaporization temperature, in a second heating step. Other applications are also described.
Vaporizer for vaporizing an active ingredient
Apparatus and methods are described for use with a vaporizer that vaporizes at least one active ingredient of a material. In response to receiving a first input to the vaporizer, the material is heated, in a first heating step. An indication of the temperature of the material is detected, and, in response to detecting an indication that the temperature of the material is at a first temperature, the first heating step is terminated, by withholding causing further temperature increase of the material. The first temperature is less than 95 percent of the vaporization temperature of the active ingredient. Subsequently, a second input is received at the vaporizer. In response thereto, the material is heated to the vaporization temperature, in a second heating step. Other applications are also described.
METHODS OF TREATMENT USING NICLOSAMIDE
The present invention provides for a method for the treatment of a respiratory disease, disorder or condition, or a viral infection or viral disease, disorder or condition in a subject, the method comprising the step of administering to said subject a medically active liquid in nebulized form by inhalation, wherein the medically active liquid comprises niclosamide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and wherein the medically active liquid is administered in nebulized form using an inhalation device.
Dispenser for dry-powder inhalation devices
A dispenser for dispensing one or more dry-powder inhaler devices, having at least one compartment configured to hold at least one dry-powder inhaler device, the at least one dry-powder inhaler device comprising a casing enclosing at least one compartment containing an inhalable medicament covered by a cover, and at least one puncture mechanism comprising at least one pin structure operably aligned with the at least one compartment, and at least one obstruction internally located within the dispenser and adjacent to an opening, wherein, upon a dry-powder inhaler device being pulled from a dispenser, the at least one obstruction is configured to actuate the at least one puncture mechanism to extend the at least one pin structure into the casing, thereby puncturing the cover of the at least one compartment.
DRY POWDER MEDICAMENT INHALER
Disclosed are dry powder inhalers for delivering medicament to a user from a blister pack, the blister pack having a plurality of spaced-apart blister pockets containing doses of the medicament. The inhalers comprise: a housing for accommodating unused and used portions of the blister pack together with a dispensing mechanism for selectively opening the blister pockets; and a manifold component through which air can be drawn in use of the inhaler. The manifold component comprises: a primary air inlet opening for receiving first external air; an air outlet opening for providing the external air from the primary air inlet opening into an opened blister pocket, the primary air inlet opening being fluidly connected to the air outlet opening by a primary air delivery conduit formed in the manifold component; a medicament inlet opening for receiving air-entrained medicament from the opened blister pocket, the air outlet opening and the medicament inlet opening being arranged side-by-side to enable simultaneous communication with the opened blister pocket; and a medicament outlet opening for delivery of the air-entrained medicament from the opened blister pocket to the user, the medicament inlet opening being fluidly connected to the medicament outlet opening by a medicament delivery conduit formed in the manifold component. The disclosed inhalers embodiments provide a variety of improvements to the design of the manifold component.
