AUTOINJECTOR HAVING A DISCHARGE-RELEASE MEANS
An autoinjector including a housing; an axially fixed product container; a torsion spring; a drive element; a propulsion element; and a needle protection sleeve is configured such that when the autoinjector is pressed against an injection location, the needle protection sleeve undergoes an actuation movement in the proximal direction. For discharging liquid from the product container through an injection needle into the injection location, the torsion spring sets the drive element into rotation and the rotating drive element causes a movement of the propulsion element and a piston in the product container in the distal direction. The autoinjector includes a coupling which, due to the actuation movement of the needle protection sleeve, releases the drive element for rotation, where the coupling is between a first and second coupling element in an engagement of locking surfaces, and can be disengaged by an axial coupling stroke of the two coupling elements.
AN INJECTION DEVICE FOR DELIVERING A LIQUID DRUG
The invention relates to a pre-filled injection device with a non-removable cartridge embedded in the housing structure and wherein the piston rod drive mechanism comprises a threaded piston rod which is moved helically in a nut secured to the housing structure. During assembly of the injection device it is possible to eliminate the air-gap between the plunger in the cartridge and the piston rod means by moving the nut element for the drive mechanism axially during assembly. In an alternative solution, the piston rod comprises a telescopic element which can slide axially in relation to the piston rod to obtain the zero position.
TWO-STEP AUTO-INJECTION APPARATUS
The present invention provides a two-step auto-injection apparatus consisting of a housing, a protective sleeve cylinder, a pre-filled injection assembly and a drive feedback apparatus, wherein the pre-filled injection assembly is loaded into the housing, and the protective sleeve cylinder covers a needle of the pre-filled injection assembly, so that the protective sleeve cylinder directly contacts an injecting portion and the function of injection can be realized by pressing to trigger the drive feedback apparatus during use, thereby facilitating quick operation with a needle tip hidden in the whole process; the drive feedback apparatus of a piston in a needle cylinder is driven to combine a release mechanism with an ejection mechanism and a feedback mechanism, and the release mechanism is triggered by pressing the protective sleeve cylinder, so that the ejection mechanism is released, and the ejection mechanism interacts with the feedback mechanism in a form of collision, for example, to generate a sound signal and/or a haptic signal in the moment of release for prompting a patient to begin an injection; when the ejection mechanism finishes movement, the ejection mechanism interacts again with the feedback mechanism in the form of collision, for example, to generate the sound signal and/or the haptic signal for promoting the patient to finish the injection.
Auto-Injector
An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament (M) is presented having an elongate case arranged to be held by a user, a tubular chassis telescoped in the case and biased against the case so as to protrude from the case. The injector also includes a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring and a plunger for forwarding load of the drive spring to a stopper of the syringe. A trigger button is distally arranged in or on the case, wherein the trigger button is initially coupled to the case in a manner to protrude distally from the case and interlocked to the chassis in a manner preventing the trigger button from disengaging the case.
AUTOMATIC INJECTION OF MEDICATION INTO ANIMALS
In selected embodiments, a handheld injection safety applicator (100) includes an applicator housing with a handle (104) and a retractable needle (106) housed within the applicator. The applicator further includes a first sensor (112) that detects the presence of a user's grip on the handle and a second sensor (118) that detects the presence of an animal. The applicator also includes processing circuitry configured to receive a first signal from the first sensor indicating that the user is gripping the handle and receive a second signal from the second sensor indicating that an animal is detected. The applicator extends the needle out of the applicator into the animal once the first and second signal are received and delivers a dose of medication into the animal once the needle is fully extended into the animal.
An Injection Needle Assembly for an Injection Device and an Injection Device Comprising Such Assembly
An injection needle assembly (50) for an injection device, comprising: a) a needle cannula (3) attached to a needle hub (4) and defining a pointed tip at a free end (3a, 3b), and b) a needle cover (10, 10a, 10b) forming an axially extending elongated flexible enclosure accommodating the needle cannula (3). The needle cover (10, 10a, 10b) is configured to axially collapse and become penetrated by the needle cannula (3) when a penetration force is applied to the needle cover. The needle cover (10, 10a, 10b) defines a shaft section (11a) and a bulb section (11b). The shaft section (11a) encircles the needle cannula (3) and extends axially from the needle hub (4) to the bulb section (11b). The shaft section (11a) comprises a collapsible wall area (15) having wall thickness t.sub.1 less than a predefined wall thickness t.sub.1,lim to provide radial deformability for abutting contact with the needle cannula (3). The bulb section (11b) comprises a wall area (17a, 17b) having a wall thickness t.sub.2 being greater than said predefined wall thickness t.sub.1,lim, and further defines a central end wall area (20) having a wall thickness t.sub.3 smaller than the wall thickness t.sub.2. In an initial non-penet-rated state, the needle cover (10, 10a, 10b) assumes a first configuration wherein the wall areas of the bulb section (11b) and the wall areas of the shaft section (11a) are spaced apart from the needle cannula (3).
