A safety needle has a needle base, a puncture needle, and a safety cap. The puncture needle is inserted into a front end of a needle connection segment of the needle base. The safety cap is combined with a front end of the needle base. The safety cap has a needle cap and a resilient member mounted in the needle base. The needle cap is mounted around the puncture needle. Guiding blocks formed on the rear end of the needle cap are mounted respectively in positioning recesses in a housing of the needle base. The needle cap and an outer cap are mounted around the puncture needle, and the puncture needle can be kept from exposure. The needle cap can be locked with the positioning recesses, and the safety needle cannot be reused and can be distinguished as a used needle.

Syringe needle removal apparatus

The injection needle removal device has: a cylindrical outer cylinder on an upper opening of an injection needle case; a helical track on an inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder in a helical shape from an upper locking point to a lower locking point; a syringe holding cylinder helically advances in the outer cylinder along the helical track; an injection needle tightening ring on a lower end portion of the syringe holding cylinder, the injection needle tightening ring holds an injection needle base portion of a syringe in the syringe holding cylinder to clamp the injection needle base portion; and a locking mechanism that stops the syringe holding cylinder where the injection needle tightening ring is exposed from a lower side of the outer cylinder at the lower locking point. The injection needle tightening ring turns to remove the syringe needle base portion from the syringe body and to expand in a distal-end divided manner by a turning generated by a descending movement of the syringe holding cylinder proximate the lower locking point to discard the injection needle base portion into the injection needle accommodation case with the injection needle.

Induction heating circuit for medical sharps removal device

Induction heating from an induction coil (108) is used to separate a metal medical sharp (144) from its holder (142) by applying a high-frequency oscillating magnetic field that excites eddy currents and resistance heating in the sharp. The heated metal sharp melts the adhesive or plastic securing the sharp to its holder. The use of induction heating is advantageous in that it does not require direct contact between the electrical circuit and the sharp or its holder. The heating can also act to sterilize the sharp and thereby render it less hazardous at the same time that it separates the sharp from its holder. The induction coil can have a stepped or conical shape to concentrate the RF energy at the interface between the metal sharp and its holder.

SYRINGE WITH CONTROLLABLE BREAKING FEATURES
20230191034 · 2023-06-22 · ·

A syringe with structural features to accomplish one-handed aspiration as well as one-handed injection. The syringe includes one or more breaking points that are configured to break at predetermined locations in response to external forces being applied thereto. To assist in accountability, identification chips and/or codes are included to allow for the traceability of the syringe to potential sources of irresponsible dispensing of medical waste.

Spring retract IV catheter

A safety catheter insertion device configured to automatically retract a needle cannula following insertion of a catheter assembly and to inhibit release of the catheter assembly from the safety catheter insertion device until the needle cannula has been retracted for the purpose of inhibiting inadvertent needle sticks. The safety catheter insertion device including an advancement arm slidably coupled to a needle housing assembly and configured to shift between a first position in which a needle cannula traverses through a catheter hub coupling portion of the advancement arm to inhibit release of a catheter assembly, and a second position in which one or more tabs of the advancement arm interact with one or more retention arms of the needle housing assembly to enable a biasing mechanism to shift the needle assembly to a proximal position and enable release of the catheter assembly from the safety catheter insertion device.

A connecting module is provided with a first connecting component, which has a first fluid channel and a first contact surface, a second connecting component, which has a second fluid channel and a second contact surface. One of the two contact surfaces is formed as an inner surface and the other of the two contact surfaces is formed as an outer surface which is complementary to the inner surface. The connecting module further includes a receiving sleeve with a first threaded section and a first connecting device for the first connecting component. The first connecting component has a second connecting device, which interacts with the first connecting device in such a way that the first connecting component is detachably connected to the receiving sleeve. The second connecting component has a second threaded section which is complementary to the first threaded section.

Fluid transfer devices

A fluid transfer device such as a syringe may include a fluid chamber in communication with a male connector tip. The male connector tip is tapered to form a friction fit when inserted in a corresponding female hub. A disconnecting member, e.g., in the form of a lever member has a front surface moveable along the male connector tip between a first position proximal to the fluid chamber and a second position spaced from the first position towards a distal end of the male connector tip so as to release the friction fit. A catch is arranged to catch the female hub after it has been released from the friction fit by the lever member moving towards the second position. The catch may be released when the lever member pivots back towards the first position under the resilient bias of a spring tongue.

PHARMACEUTICAL SYRINGE UNIT, PHARMACEUTICAL INJECTION DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH SAID UNIT, INJECTION NEEDLE ATTACHMENT AND REMOVAL FIXTURE, AND STORAGE CASE

There is provided a pharmaceutical syringe unit that is mounted to a pharmaceutical injection device main body and holds a pharmaceutical syringe, in order to mount the pharmaceutical-filled pharmaceutical syringe to a pharmaceutical injection device, wherein a syringe cover is slid in the forward and backward direction with respect to a distal end cap by the operation of the pharmaceutical injection device main body, allowing movement between a needle insertion position at which the insertion of an injection needle into a target is completed, and a needle withdrawal position at which the withdrawal of the injection needle from the target is completed, and the range over which the syringe cover can be slid by a guide component is greater than the distance between the needle insertion position and the needle withdrawal position.
