System and method for safety syringe
A system for injecting includes a syringe body defining a proximal opening and a distal needle interface. The system also includes a plunger member defining a plunger interior and configured to be manually manipulated to insert a stopper member relative to the syringe body. The plunger member includes a needle retention feature disposed in the plunger interior, an energy-storage member disposed in the plunger interior, and an energy-storage member latching member disposed in the plunger interior. The system further includes a needle hub assembly coupled to the distal needle interface of the syringe body. The needle assembly includes a needle having a needle proximal end feature, a hub, and a needle latching member configured to couple the needle to the hub. The needle is retractable into plunger interior upon manipulation of the plunger member to actuate the energy-storage member latching member.
Injection Systems and Methods of Their Use
An injection system comprising a syringe barrel; a first sealing element and a second sealing element moveably disposed in the syringe barrel; an injection chamber between them; a puncture element extending from the first sealing element to deliver an injection agent from the injection chamber into a biological space, wherein one or more of the syringe barrel, the first or the second sealing element are configured to prevent proximal movement of the first sealing element past a pre-selected location, while allowing the second sealing element to come in contact with the first sealing element, the system is configured such that, when a force is applied on the second sealing element in a distal direction, in response to a first opposing force, the puncture element advances and in response to a second opposing force, the puncture element remains stationary and the injection agent is conveyed through the puncture element.
Syringe assembly for a drug delivery device and method of assembly
A syringe assembly for a drug delivery device. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. A needle assembly is operatively coupled to the syringe barrel and includes a needle hub and a needle attached to the needle hub. A flexible connection is disposed between the syringe barrel and the needle hub and forms a fluid pathway between the syringe barrel and the needle. The flexible connection enables the needle assembly to be moveable from a filling position, in which a longitudinal axis of the needle assembly is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the syringe barrel, to an assembled position, in which the longitudinal axis of the needle assembly is not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the syringe barrel.
T-shaped slot locking safety syringe
To prevent accidental needle stick injuries, a syringe has a plunger configured to pull the syringe into the syringe barrel after clinical use. The syringe has an additional safety feature that restricts subsequent movement of the plunger. After the needle has been retracted in its entirety within the barrel of the syringe, movement of the plunger is restricted by a two-part locking mechanism, a notch on the plunger and a T-shaped slot on the barrel with a one-way catch section to prevent the needle tip from being pushed accidentally through the barrel wall.
RETRACTABLE NEEDLE SYRINGE WITH UNITARY PROPELLANT RELEASE MODULE
A modular retractable needle assembly having a unitary propellant release structure is provided. The modular retractable needle assembly can be coupled to a suitable syringe. A modular filler needle can be provided that is engageable to the syringe. Kits comprising the modular retractable needle assembly, one or more syringes, and a modular filler needle are provided.
SYRINGE ASSEMBLY
A syringe assembly includes a plunger assembly, a syringe body, and a needle. The plunger assembly includes a plunger rod, a spring, a plunger base, and a plunger plug. The plunger rod includes a first end member having a first stepped part positioned in an inner wall thereof, a second end member, and a first accommodating room. The plunger base includes a plunger body, a projection, a second stepped part, a plunger member, and a locating member. The plunger body is received in the first accommodating room, and the projection abuts against the first end member. The spring is arranged around the plunger body and positioned between the first stepped part and the second stepped part. The plunger plug is mounted to the second end member, and defines a fixing groove. The syringe body includes a needle cannula, a needle base, a fixing pole, and a fixing valve. The plunger assembly is received in the needle cannula. The needle base is mounted to the needle cannula. The fixing valve is received in the needle base. The fixing pole is received in the fixing valve and protrudes out of the needle base. The needle is received in the fixing pole. The syringe assembly of the present invention is prevented from reuse and accidently damage because the needle can retract into the plunger rod using restoring force of the spring.
Retractable syringe with improved delivery efficiency and locking system
A plunger, a needle assembly and a retractable syringe comprising same are provided. The plunger comprises a plunger member and a plunger outer having a lock spring that prevents or impedes movement of the plunger member after needle retraction. The plunger further comprises another locking member for engaging the barrel to prevent or impede further movement of the plunger outer after delivery of fluid contents. The plunger member has a plunger seal which engages a retractable needle of the needle assembly for retraction. The retractable needle comprises a cannula and needle body with a plurality of fluid channels that co-operate with a fluid conduit of the plunger seal to efficiently direct fluid to the cannula. A needle retainer comprises a plurality of barbed arms releasably coupled to the needle body, whereby an ejector with tabs facilitates release of the retractable needle from the needle retainer to allow compressed spring-driven retraction.
Safety syringe
One embodiment is directed to a method for safe injection, comprising: providing an injection assembly and inserting a plunger tip of the injection assembly to a final insertion state and releasing an associated manual insertion load. A retraction load developed sufficient to cause the plunger tip to be proximally withdrawn pulls the retractable needle proximally relative to the needle housing to a retracted state wherein a distal tip of the needle becomes mechanically locked into an encapsulated configuration wherein it is no longer exposed for injection.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY SYRINGE
A system for serially injecting liquids includes a syringe body defining a syringe proximal opening and a distal needle interface, proximal and distal stopper members, forming proximal and distal chambers. The system also includes a first liquid in the distal chamber and a second liquid in the proximal chamber, and a plunger configured to be manually manipulated to insert the proximal stopper member distally. Moreover, the system includes a needle hub assembly coupled to the syringe body, the needle assembly including a needle. The needle defines a needle interior, and distal, middle and proximal openings. The distal, middle and proximal openings are fluidly coupled through the needle interior. Manipulating the plunger member to insert the proximal stopper member initially expels the first liquid from the distal chamber, then serially expels the second liquid from the proximal chamber.
Syringe
A syringe is provided, including a syringe barrel, a needle set and a push rod. A front end part is provided in the syringe barrel. An end of the needle set has an open area, the open area is transversely provided with a first snap part. The push rod is slidably disposed within the syringe barrel, and an end of the push rod facing the front end part has a second snap part. When the push rod is slidingly moved to the front end part, the second snap part is engaged with the first snap part.
