NEEDLE RETRACTION MEDICAL DEVICE
A needle retraction medical device including a hollow body (10) and a plunger (20). The hollow body (10) has a first end (11) provided with a needle mounting hub (13) and a plurality of releasable latches (15) holding the needle mounting hub (13) against spring (14) bias. The latches (15) are formed integrally with the hollow body (10) and project longitudinally inside the hollow body (10) from a proximal end at or adjacent the first end (11) of the hollow body (10) to a free end. A respective opening (35) is provided in the body (10) radially inwards of each of the latches (15). The plunger (20) has a forward end insertable into the body (10) from a second end thereof, a hollow interior and a closed rear end. The plunger front end is operable, upon insertion of the plunger (20) into the body (10), to deflect the latches (15) radially outwards and thereby release the needle mounting hub (13) from the latches (15) so that the hub (13) together with the needle mounted thereby retract under spring action into the hollow interior of the plunger (20). A respective opening (30) is also provided in the hollow body (10) radially outwards of at least some of the latches (15) so that each such latch (15) connects to the material of the body (10) only at each side of its proximal end.
Safety Syringe
Disclosed is a safety syringe that comprises a needle sleeve (1), a needle base (3) and a core rod (2). First claws (34) on the needle base (3) are configured to clamp in a first groove (111) on an inner wall of the needle sleeve (1), one of a proximal end of the needle base (3) and a distal end of the core rod (2) is provided with second claws (33), and the other one thereof is provided with a position-limiting member; the second claws (33) are configured to abut against the position-limiting member along a slanted surface. When the core rod (2) slides towards a distal side to perform injection, the second claws (33) are forced to slide along the slanted surface to pass over the position-limiting member and become hooked onto the position-limiting member, thereby realizing interlocking of the needle base (3) and the core rod (2), and during this process, the core rod (2) slides to drive the first claws (34) to slip out of the first groove (111); or when the core rod (2) retracts, the core rod (2) exerts a pulling force on the needle base (2) towards the proximal side so as to force the first claws (34) to slip out of the first groove (111); the needle base (3) slides towards the proximal side together with the core rod (2), thereby simplifying the structure of the safety syringe.
Retractable needle adapters and safety syringes
Barrel adapters for safety syringes include a barrel and a plunger assembly adapted to move within the barrel, a barrel tip adapted to be sealingly engaged with a distal end of the barrel and a needle retraction mechanism barrel having a needle subassembly and an actuator subassembly. The needle subassembly includes a needle, and a needle-over-mold (NOM) through which the needle extends. The needle subassembly is disposed at least partially within the barrel tip, and adapted to move from an injection position in which the needle extends from a distal end of the barrel tip to a retracted position in which the needle is disposed within at least one of the barrel tip or the barrel. The actuator subassembly includes a needle seal, a push-bar, and an actuator surface. The needle retraction mechanism barrel includes a biasing member and an actuable locking arrangement. A syringe includes such barrel adapters.
Protector Housing Plastic Spike with Flash Intended for DVO Last Drop Extraction
A device for transferring fluids in a closed system transfer device using flash for last drop extraction and to reduce coring. The device including a piercing member having a distal end and a proximal end and defining a longitudinal fluid channel. A first opening positioned at the distal end of the piercing member wherein the first opening is in fluid communication with the longitudinal fluid channel. A cover or flash positioned over the first opening. The cover including a pre-cut pattern wherein the cover opens along the pre-cut pattern upon application of a distally directed force from the longitudinal fluid channel. The distal end including the first opening having a steep taper to facilitate last drop extraction.

Actuation mechanisms for dual chamber mixing syringes
An automatic mixing device, an actuating device having integrated plunger and configured to be removably mounted to the automatic mixing device, and a retractable syringe having the automatic mixing device are provided. The actuating device has an initially compressed spring and a trigger member that is rotatable to initiate spring decompression to drive depression of a mixing plunger seal of the automatic mixing device. Another seal located in an outer chamber of the mixing device is capable of axial movement upon depression of the mixing plunger, from a first position in sealing engagement with one or more apertures in an inner barrel to a second position intermediate the apertures and vents in an outer barrel. This allows depression of the mixing plunger to force a first substance from the outer chamber through the apertures to mix with a second substance in an inner chamber of the inner barrel. The mixed substance in the inner barrel is then delivered by the syringe with subsequent needle retraction.
SAFETY SYRINGE
A safety syringe having a casing with the distal end of the casing divided by one or more slots into a plurality of fingers that are external to and extend distally from the casing. Each finger has a hook. The hooks engage a needle seat to hold a retraction assembly with the needle protruding from the casing. Movement of a slider within the casing causes the hooks to release the needle seat.
Retractable syringe
An auto-retractable syringe having a barrel and a plunger wherein engagement of said plunger with an otherwise immobilised needle hub allows a biasing member to push the needle hub into a cavity in the plunger.
Fluid delivery device and method
A fluid delivery injector comprises a syringe defining a barrel; a plunger and a hollow needle provided within the barrel adapted for linear movement parallel to a longitudinal axis with a distal tip of the needle contained within the syringe. A fluid retention reservoir is defined at least in the barrel and is in fluid communication with the needle when pressure is applied to the fluid in the reservoir and to the plunger for moving the needle out of the barrel. A spring may be provided for retracting the needle when pressure is released from the plunger.
