PROXIMAL CONNECTOR FOR GUIDEWIRE ASSEMBLY
The present disclosure provides an improved guidewire assembly including a sensor disposed on a distal portion thereof and a proximal connector disposed on a proximal portion thereof for electrically coupling the guidewire assembly to an external device. The proximal connector comprises at least one proximal contact and at least one reflowed insulative element disposed adjacent the at least one proximal contact.
GUIDE WIRES
A guide wire includes a core wire, a first resin layer that coats a part of the core wire, a coil body wound around another part of the core wire and an outer side of the first resin layer, and a second resin layer that coats the coil body, in which a part of the coil body is embedded in the first resin layer and the second resin layer.
Torque coil and method
A torque coil 10 includes an inner wire layer 14 helically wound in a constricted state. An outer wire layer 18 is helically wound over the inner wire layer in a constricted state. An outer polymer cover 20 surrounds the inner and outer layers thereby securing the inner and outer layers within the outer polymer cover.
Delivery guidewire
A delivery guidewire for navigating a catheter in the heart to deliver a valve prosthesis. The delivery guidewire comprising an elongated core, an outer sleeve disposed on the elongated core, and a coil disposed on a distal portion of the elongated core. The delivery guidewire having a first section having a generally uniform diameter and a second section having a tapering section. A distal portion of the second section of the delivery guidewire comprises a pigtail shape atraumatic tip which can remain in the left ventricle.
GUIDEWIRE ASSEMBLY WITH INTERTWINED CORE WIRE
An apparatus and method of manufacture includes a helical wire coil and a core wire. The core wire has a first wire portion and a second wire portion. The first wire portion of the core wire extends through the helical wire coil. The second wire portion of the core wire is intertwined with the first helical wire coil to fixedly secure the core wire relative to the first helical wire coil. The core wire is formed from a first material that is non-extensible. The core wire is fixedly secured relative to a distal portion of the helical wire coil such that the core wire inhibits longitudinal elongation of the helical wire coil along a longitudinal coil axis.
Signal and torque transmitting torque coil
A torque coil 10 includes a first filar configured in an inner layer 14 that is helically wound in a constricted state such that it defines an inner lumen providing access between a proximal and distal end of the torque coil. A second filar is configured in an outer layer 18 that is helically wound over the inner layer in a constricted state. At least one of the first and second filars includes a signal transmitting material surrounded by an isolating material thereby allowing transmission of signals between the proximal and distal end of the torque coil in one of the layers. At least one of the first and second filars includes a torque transmitting material thereby configuring the torque coil to transfer torque from the proximal to the distal end.
Medical guide wire
A medical guide wire including a core wire having a distal end-side small-diameter portion and a proximal end-side large-diameter portion, and a coil spring installed on an outer periphery of the distal end-side small-diameter portion of the core wire along an axial direction, having a front end-side small-diameter portion, a tapered portion and a rear end-side large-diameter portion, and fixed to the core wire, wherein the front end-side small-diameter portion of the coil spring has a length of 5 to 100 mm, and the outside diameter of a coil thereof is at most 0.012 inch, the front end portion of the coil spring is fixed to the core wire by a gold-containing solder, and a length of a distal end portion stiffened by the gold-containing solder is 0.1 to 0.5 mm.
Guidewire made from a drawn filled tube of a stainless steel sheath and nitinol core
A guidewire made from a drawn filled tube composite wire is described. The composite wire has a stainless steel outer sheath jacketing a nitinol core wire. The drawn filled tube composite wire is ground at its distal end to expose the nitinol core, which has superelastic and kink resistant properties that are desirable for the distal end of a guidewire. The proximal end of the drawn filled tube is not ground or if ground, the outer sheath of stainless steel is not removed to an extent sufficient to expose the nitinol core.
ECG Stylet with Improved Fatigue and Break Resistance
A stylet for placing a catheter in a vasculature of a patient is disclosed. The stylet can include an ECG sensor assembly having an electrode, a magnetic assembly producing a magnetic field, a core wire and a coil defining a lumen. A portion of the core wire can be disposed within the lumen of the coil. An intravascular catheter is disclosed that includes the stylet disposed within a lumen of the catheter. A method of placing a catheter within a superior vena cava of a patient is provided, including inserting the stylet within a lumen of the catheter, connecting the ECG sensor assembly to an ECG system, advancing the catheter along a patient vasculature, discontinuing advancement of the catheter upon an indication via an ECG signal that a tip of the stylet is disposed within the superior vena cava, and removing the stylet from the lumen of the catheter.
Guide wire
A guide wire includes a wire main body that has a plate-like portion in a distal end portion of the wire main body and a reinforcement portion that is provided on at least one surface of the plate-like portion and reinforces the plate-like portion. The reinforcement portion is made up of two wire rods, and both end portions of the reinforcement portion are fixed to the plate-like portion. The plate-like portion is formed in a ribbon shape, and the reinforcement portions are diagonally provided on the same plane of the plate-like portion, and intersect each other. The guide wire has a coil that covers the plate-like portion and the reinforcement portion.
