FLUID DIVERTING DEVICE FOR AN APPARATUS FOR EXTRACORPOREAL TREATMENT OF BLOOD AND BLOOD SET PROVIDED WITH SAID FLUID DIVERTING DEVICE
A fluid diverting device for an apparatus for extracorporeal treatment of blood is configured to be placed in-line between a main portion (22) of the apparatus (1) and a vascular access of a patient (P) and comprises: a substantially H-shaped conduits assembly comprising a withdrawal conduit (23), a return conduit (24) and at least one bridging conduit (25, 125) connecting the withdrawal conduit (23) to the return conduit (24). The withdrawal conduit (23) is connectable upstream and downstream to a withdrawal line (6) of the apparatus (1), the return conduit (24) is connectable upstream and downstream to a return line (7) of the apparatus (1). A plurality of valves (26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32) or distributors (201, 202) operate on the withdrawal conduit (23), on the return conduit (24) and on the at least one bridging conduit (25) and are configured to divert a flow of liquid and/or blood without disconnecting the patient (P).
Graft-port hemodialysis systems, devices, and methods
The disclosure relates to a subcutaneously implanted port device for establishing access to the vascular system of a patient requiring multiple blood treatments over an extended period of time. The systems, devices and methods disclosed herein may reduce miscannulation, promote intra-session hemostasis, and decrease the incidence of bacteremia and sepsis among other improvements and advantages. The devices include a port with a tapered seat for receiving an access tube, the first tapered seat having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a conical section extending between the proximal portion and the distal portion; and an interface surface configured to engage a blood vessel or a vascular access catheter. The proximal portion of the tapered seat is configured to receive the access tube therethrough, and the tapered seat creates a mismatch fit with a diameter of the access tube when in use for an increase in flow during treatment.
Cap for syringe needle and device for dialysis circuit priming
A needle cap and a dialysis circuit priming device with increased safety and convenience in the cleaning and priming of a blood circuit are provided. According to the present invention, a needle cap is provided including two needle connecting parts, and a flow path connecting the two needle connecting parts. A dialysis circuit priming device is also provided including two needles, two needle connecting parts each arranged with the two needles respectively, and a flow path for connecting the two needle connecting parts.
PRESSURE-REGULATING CONNECTOR FOR INFUSION
A connector for connecting a container containing a medical fluid to a vascular access device may include an upper housing defining a first internal chamber, and a lower housing coupled to the upper housing and defining a second internal chamber for circulation of the medical fluid into the outlet. The connector may further include a slider disposed at least partially in the first and second internal chambers, and a plug coupled to a distal end of the slider. The slider may be reciprocally movable between (i) an open position, where the plug is spaced apart from a floor of the internal chamber to allow the medical fluid to flow through the outlet, and (ii) a closed position where the plug abuts the floor of the second internal chamber to block the medical fluid from flowing through the outlet.
Flushing apparatus for injection of hazardous medicinal liquid, and hazardous medicinal liquid injection apparatus
A flushing apparatus according to embodiments of the present disclosure includes: a main body configured to connect a connection pipe for guiding a hazardous medicinal liquid harmful to a human body when exposed to an ambient air and a patient connection module for injecting the hazardous medicinal liquid into a patient, the main body configured to form a first flow path for guiding the hazardous medicinal liquid from the connection pipe to the patient connection module, the main body including a flushing portion forming a second flow path connected to a predetermined connection point located between both ends of the first flow path; and a flow rate reduction part disposed at upstream side of the connection point in the first flow path and configured to reduce a flow rate of the hazardous medicinal liquid flowing through the first flow path. The present disclosure shows various embodiments of the flushing apparatus.
Methods and apparatus for disinfecting and reflux prevention flush syringe assembly
Embodiments of the invention are directed to flush syringe assemblies comprising an integrated contamination-prevention device integrated with device connector flushing positioned so that the practitioner cannot forget to apply disinfectant. The flush syringe assemblies comprise a barrel with an elongate plunger rod disposed therein and a cap comprising a passageway. The plunger rod includes a stopper of which at least a portion can be embedded in the passageway of the cap to form a plug in the cap. Methods of flushing a vascular access device (VAD) while providing a flush syringe assembly described herein are also disclosed.

Injector head with rotation mechanism
An injector head with rotation mechanism allows selection between a state in which a syringe assumes a priming orientation with a through hole of the syringe positioned upper than the injector head body, and a state in which the syringe assumes a contrast agent injectable orientation with the through hole of the syringe positioned lower than the injector head body.
Systems and methods for shunting fluid
Systems and methods are provided herein that generally involve shunting fluid, e.g., shunting cerebrospinal fluid in the treatment of hydrocephalus. Self-cleaning catheters are provided which include split tips configured such that pulsatile flow of fluid in a cavity in which the catheter is inserted can cause the tips to strike one another and thereby clear obstructions. Catheters with built-in flow indicators are also provided. Exemplary flow indicators include projections that extend radially inward from the interior surface of the catheter and which include imageable portions (e.g., portions which are visible under magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)). Movement of the flow indicators caused by fluid flowing through the catheter can be detected using MRI, thereby providing a reliable indication as to whether the catheter is partially or completely blocked. Systems and methods for flushing a shunt system are also disclosed herein, as are various systems and methods for opening auxiliary fluid pathways through a shunt system.
Syringe With Disinfecting Feature
Syringe assemblies comprising an absorbent pad containing disinfectant and a rotatable cap to ensure adherence to aseptic techniques for use in flush procedures for vascular access devices (VAD's) are described. Also described are methods of disinfecting vascular access devices.
