MEDICAL INSTRUMENT AND MEDICAL DEVICE
An implantable medical instrument for use within a body includes a container that has an opening and holds a medicinal solution, and a soft portion that closes the opening. The medical instrument further includes a power receiver that receives power transmitted externally, and a light emitter that emits light by way of the power received by the power receiver. The light emitter includes at least one of a first light emitter that emits light having a center wavelength of 600 nm or more and 1100 nm or less, and a second light emitter that emits light having a center wavelength of 400 nm or more and 480 nm or less.
Graft-port hemodialysis systems, devices, and methods
The disclosure relates to a subcutaneously implanted port device for establishing access to the vascular system of a patient requiring multiple blood treatments over an extended period of time. The systems, devices and methods disclosed herein may reduce miscannulation, promote intra-session hemostasis, and decrease the incidence of bacteremia and sepsis among other improvements and advantages. The devices include a port with a tapered seat for receiving an access tube, the first tapered seat having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a conical section extending between the proximal portion and the distal portion; and an interface surface configured to engage a blood vessel or a vascular access catheter. The proximal portion of the tapered seat is configured to receive the access tube therethrough, and the tapered seat creates a mismatch fit with a diameter of the access tube when in use for an increase in flow during treatment.
MULTIMODAL PAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
According to aspects disclosed herein, an infusion lead assembly may include a housing including a needle receptacle, a housing lumen, a pin receptacle, and a housing conductive trace; a connector including an connector needle, an internal lumen, a metal pin, and a connector conductive trace, and an infusion lead body including an infusion lumen, an exit port, an internal wire, and a distal electrode. The infusion lead assembly may form an electrical path to transmit electrical signals across the connector conductive trace, the metal pin, the housing conductive trace, the internal wire, and the distal electrode. The infusion lead assembly may form a fluid path to transmit fluid across the internal lumen, the connector needle, the infusion lumen, and the exit port.
Systems and methods for facilitating instrument delivery through a peripheral intravenous catheter
A system for facilitating instrument delivery through a peripheral intravenous catheter may include a catheter adapter having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending there through. The catheter adapter may include a side port. The system may include an extension tube extending from the side port. The system may include a blood control valve disposed in the lumen of the catheter adapter. The system may include a peripheral intravenous catheter extending distally from the catheter adapter.
SURGICAL ACCESS DEVICE HAVING A HOLLOW ANCHOR
A surgical access device has a housing and a tubular member extending from the housing. A collar includes proximal and distal walls along with first and second sidewalls. The first and second sidewalls have a circular configuration and join the proximal and distal walls. The collar is repositionable along a length of the tubular member. A cavity is defined between the proximal and distal walls and the first and second sidewalls. The cavity is configured to store a quantity of a fluid therein. Pores extend through the distal wall and each pore is configured to allow a predetermined quantity of the fluid to flow therethrough. A port is disposed through the proximal wall and is in fluid communication with the cavity. The port is configured to allow the fluid to be introduced into the cavity.
TAMPER RESISTANT DEVICES
The present invention is directed to tamper resistant devices for discouraging and/or preventing unauthorized persons, such as patients, from tampering with access to in-situ intravenous (IV) medical catheter devices (placed either centrally or peripherally) and their corresponding medical fluid lines with access ports. The tamper resistant devices are particularly designed to prevent unauthorized patient access to the IV and to prevent any insertion/injection of non-prescribed medications/foreign substances through their IV access and associated ports.
Antimicrobial light-emitting percutaneous site dressing
An antimicrobial light dressing device, system and method for a percutaneous treatment that bathes a treatment region around the percutaneous insertion with an antibacterial illumination source for preventing pathogens around the insertion from entering via the dermal puncture created by the insertion. The antimicrobial light dressing device combines a circumferential body centered around the insertion, and an arrangement of LEDs around the body that focus the light around the insertion and onto a therapeutic region of the insertion. An opening in the circumferential body has an articulated protrusion for offsetting a medicinal vessel such as an IV tube off the skin surface to avoid blocking light to an area under the vessel.
Methods and apparatus for disinfecting and reflux prevention flush syringe assembly
Embodiments of the invention are directed to flush syringe assemblies comprising an integrated contamination-prevention device integrated with device connector flushing positioned so that the practitioner cannot forget to apply disinfectant. The flush syringe assemblies comprise a barrel with an elongate plunger rod disposed therein and a cap comprising a passageway. The plunger rod includes a stopper of which at least a portion can be embedded in the passageway of the cap to form a plug in the cap. Methods of flushing a vascular access device (VAD) while providing a flush syringe assembly described herein are also disclosed.
