DOME-SHAPED LIQUID DISPENSER FOR MEDICAL USES
A liquid nebulizer (1) for medical uses wherein a dome-shaped body (10) is shaped symmetrically with respect to a first frontal median plane (M) and to a second sagittal median plane (N) intersected in a central axis (A); the dome-shaped body (10) being developed along the axis (A) between a base portion (100) and an upper truncated portion (102) provided with a cavity (1020); at least two channels (12)(12′) being provided, each of which shaped to access the cavity (1020) through a respective hole (120)(120′) arranged at a given distance from one of the first frontal median plane (M) and second sagittal median plane (N).
DRY POWDER DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHODS
A pulmonary drug delivery system is disclosed, including a breath-powered, dry powder inhaler, with or without a cartridge for delivering a dry powder formulation. The inhaler and cartridge can be provided with a drug delivery formulation comprising, for example, a diketopiperazine and an active ingredient, including, small organic molecules, peptides and proteins, including, hormones such as insulin and glucagon-like peptide 1 for the treatment of disease and disorders, for example, diseases and disorders, including endocrine disease such as diabetes and/or obesity.
AEROSOL GUIDING DEVICE AND AEROSOL GENERATING SYSTEM COMPRISING SAID AEROSOL GUIDING DEVICE
There is provided an aerosol generating system, the system comprising: aerosol generating means; aerosol delivery means; and an aerosol guiding device (1). The aerosol guiding device comprises a chamber having an air inlet (14) and an air outlet (12) and the aerosol delivery means is configured such that aerosol is introduced from the aerosol generating means into the chamber in use. An airflow route is defined from the air inlet to the air outlet so as to convey the aerosol to the air outlet, and the relative dimensions of the air inlet and the air outlet are selected to provide pressure control means for controlling the pressure differential between the air inlet and the air outlet. There is also provided an aerosol guiding device for use in an aerosol generating system, the device comprising: a chamber having an air inlet and an air outlet. Aerosol is introduced from an aerosol generating means into the chamber in use, an airflow route is defined from the air inlet to the air outlet so as to convey the aerosol to the air outlet, and the relative dimensions of the air inlet and the air outlet are selected to provide pressure control means for controlling the pressure differential between the air inlet and the air outlet.
Asymmetrical nasal delivery elements and fittings for nasal interfaces
A nasal interface uses asymmetrical nasal delivery elements to deliver an asymmetrical flow through the interface to both nares or to either nare, and a mouthpiece may be inserted to maintain a leak, to improve dead space clearance in the upper airways, decrease peak expiratory pressure, reduce noise, increase safety of the therapy for smaller patients and reduce resistance in the interface allowing desired flow rates to be achieved at reduced motor speeds of associated flow generating devices. Different forms of fittings, such as sleeves or inserts can be attached to nasal delivery elements to improve or optimise the therapeutic effects of nasal high flow. It may allow high pressures to be achieved at lower flow rates, reduce noise, improve patient comfort and efficiently clear anatomical dead space.
Sedation device
A sedation device has a housing divided internally into a ventilator chamber and an associated evaporator chamber which overlap and are separated by a filter mounted between the chambers and forming a common gas-permeable dividing wall between the chambers. An inlet port is provided at one end of the ventilator chamber at a top of the housing for connection to a patient ventilator in use. An outlet port on the evaporator chamber can be connected via a breathing tube to a patient. An evaporator is mounted within the evaporator chamber for delivery of a volatile sedative into the evaporator chamber during use.
Powder dispensing applicator
Provided is an applicator for the dispensing of a powder such as a pharmaceutical powder, on a target location. Also, provided are methods of applying a powder on a surface using the applicator.
Different forms of fittings, such as sleeves or inserts can be attached to nasal delivery elements to improve or optimize the therapeutic effects of nasal high flow. It may allow high pressures to be achieved at lower flow rates, reduce noise, improve patient comfort and efficiently clear anatomical dead space.
Respiratory tract delivery of levodopa and DOPA decarboxylase inhibitor for treatment of Parkinson's disease
A dry pharmaceutical composition is provided that is suitable for respiratory tract delivery of levodopa and DDI for treatment of Parkinson's disease or Parkinson syndrome. The dry pharmaceutical composition comprises levodopa, a dopa decarboxylase inhibitor (DDI) and at least one excipient. A unit dosage form of the dry pharmaceutical composition and a method of treating a patient with Parkinson's disease or Parkinson syndrome by administering the dry pharmaceutical composition are also provided.
Systems and methods for an ultrasonically driven anesthetic vaporizer
Methods and systems are provided for delivering anesthetic agent to a patient. In one embodiment, an anesthetic vaporizer includes a sump configured to hold a liquid anesthetic agent; an ultrasonic transducer coupled to a bottom of the sump and at least partially disposed within the sump; a vaporizing chamber fluidically coupled to the sump; and a heating element coupled to the vaporizing chamber and configured to increase a temperature of a surface disposed within the vaporizing chamber.
NOZZLE WITH FAN FOR DELIVERING AEROSOLS
A system for delivering a composition containing a nutritional supplement matrix to a user through the oral mucosa, in which the matrix is held under pressure in a canister that has a nozzle with at least one rotating internal member positioned between the canister outlet and the nozzle outlet, in which the rotating member agitates the composition to increase atomization to aid in absorption.
