ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE
A device for irrigation of an oral cavity in a patient includes a suction element configured to be disposed in the oral cavity and configured to suction a fluid out of the oral cavity. The suction element also has one or more irrigation outlets configured to irrigate the oral cavity with the fluid. A suction line is fluidly coupled with the suction element and is configured to be fluidly coupled with a vacuum source. An irrigation line is fluidly coupled with the one or more irrigation outlets and is fluidly coupled with a source of the fluid.
Speaking endotracheal tube and method of use
An endotracheal tube is disclosed that allows a patient to speak while intubated. The endotracheal tube includes a balloon for seating against the trachea and a collapsible portion proximal to the balloon that aligns with the vocal cords. The collapsible portion may be held open by an inner tube which translates within the endotracheal tube. Suction and balloon inflation conduits span the collapsible portion so that suction and balloon inflation may be performed while the patient is speaking. A small distal tube that bypasses the balloon provides some airflow while the patient speaks.
MULTI-LAYER DRUG DELIVERY APPARATUS
Some target anatomies within the ear, nose and/or throat of a patient may be difficult to access and treat. To provide a means of treating such target anatomies over time, drug delivery devices that are sized to be positioned within a naturally occurring or man-made anatomical cavity or passageway are preloaded with active agent(s). The drug delivery devices are affixed directly to, or in the vicinity of, a target anatomy. Once affixed, the drug delivery devices are configured to deliver active agent(s) at desired dosage(s) to the target anatomy through controlled elution of the active agent(s) as various structural features of the drug delivery devices are bio-eliminated.
Airway device
Laryngeal airway devices for human and veterinary use include an airway tube having a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end of the airway tube is provided with a pre-formed and non-inflatable peri-pharyngeal bowl. The peri-pharyngeal bowl has a posterior bowl portion having a back dorsal portion and a side wall extending around and depending from the periphery of the back dorsal portion to define an internal space, and further having a resiliently deformable flange extending laterally from the side wall of the back dorsal portion which defines an extended internal space, the resiliently deformable flange has inner and outer surfaces that extend to a circumferential edge.
Airway assist device
An airway assist device and methods of making and using an airway assist device to assist in opening an airway or removing fluid or material obstructing an airway of a subject.
EAR, NOSE, AND THROAT IRRIGATOR
An ear, nose, and throat irrigator includes a bottle body, a housing; a water pump, a first tube body, a second tube body, and a shielding cover. A first end of the housing is connected with the bottle body. A spray head is arranged on a second end of the housing. The water pump is arranged in the housing. A first end of the first tube body is inserted into the bottle body. A second end of the first tube body is connected with a water inlet joint of the water pump. A first end of the second tube body is connected with a water outlet joint the water pump. A second end of the second tube body is connected with the spray head. The shielding cover is arranged on the spray head. The shielding cover is configured to shield water sprayed from the spray head.
Matching of inhalers to patient vocal tract for optimization of particle dispersion
An optimization methodology is employed to match vibratory inhaler devices having certain characteristics to the particular anatomical and acoustic properties of a patient's vocal tract, in order to achieve the most effective dispersion of a dry powder medicament using inspiratory effort of a user of the inhaler. In embodiments, optimization involves employing one or more measurements of acoustic frequency spectrum properties as well as one or more anatomical/geometric measurements of the structures comprising the particular patient's mouth, pharynx, and upper respiratory tract and matching a vibratory inhalation device that corresponds thereto.
DEVICE TO DELIVER A PREDETERMINED AMOUNT OF A SUBSTANCE TO A NATURAL ORIFICE OF THE BODY
A device for delivering a predetermined amount of at least one substance to a body orifice of a subject includes a) a container for containing said at least one substance; b) a delivery end for placement in proximity to the orifice, the delivery end being in fluid communication with the container; c) a valve mechanically connectable to said container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which said valve enables delivery of predetermined amount of said substance from said container to said body orifice via said delivery end; and, (ii) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which said valve prevents delivery of said predetermined amount of said substance from said container to said body orifice; d) a trigger mechanism adapted to reconfigure said valve from said INACTIVE CONFIGURATION to said ACTIVE CONFIGURATION, and vice versa; and e) a fluid tight chamber.
Spray Device and Force Control System
A spray device includes a mouthpiece that accommodates a spray nozzle unit. The spray nozzle unit is operatively connected to a liquid reservoir to receive a pressurized liquid to be sprayed. A connection between the spray nozzle unit and the liquid reservoir is effected by a flexible tube that connects at one end substantially fixedly to the mouth piece in fluid communication with the spray nozzle device. The liquid reservoir is interchangeably coupled to the opposite end of the flexible tube and, preferably, comprises a standard syringe. A spray delivery device comprises a holder for holding the syringe and has at least one manipulator member that is configured to impose an enhanced force on the plunger.
Mouthpiece For A Product Dispensing Device
The invention relates to a mouthpiece for a product dispensing device including a product dispensing duct defining a longitudinal axis and including a connection opening designed to be connected to a dispensing member of the product dispensing device, and a dispensing opening designed to open freely into the mouth of a user, and a lingual cavity designed to receive at least one end of the tongue of the user, including a lingual opening allowing the tongue to be inserted into the lingual cavity and a contact surface designed to form a target for one end of the tongue of the user.
The invention also relates to a product dispensing device and to a method for dispensing a product.
