The present application includes a method for introducing a hormone directly into an affected area within a tumor. The method includes penetrating the affected area of the tumor with a biopsy needle in order to obtain a biopsy specimen. The specimen is withdrawn along with the biopsy needle. A hormone implant is inserted into the void space left behind as the specimen was removed. The method may also include directly inserting the implant and a treating substance into the tumor without the removal of the biopsy specimen. The implant may have various shapes in order to maximize surface contact. The implant is also configured to have a time release function to regulate dosage delivery.

The invention is broadly directed to a skin care apparatus comprising: a camera; a light device for emitting at least one of a blue, a green, a yellow and a red light; a vibration pad; a heating element; a heat sensor; a skin moisture sensor; an iontophoresis module; and a control processor configured to: operate the camera and the skin moisture sensor to perform a skin quality assessment of a user's skin, and operate any one or more of: the light device, the vibration pad, the heating element, the heat sensor, and the iontophoresis module to provide a bespoke skin treatment for the user's skin based on the skin quality assessment.

Apparatus for transdermal medicament delivery
11565100 · 2023-01-31 · ·

A container (200) for containing a coupling medium for transdermal delivery of a medicament and a transducer unit (100) for use with the container (200) are disclosed. The transducer unit (100) has a transducer (108) with an output face (110), and the container comprises a chamber (214) for receiving the coupling medium and a contact surface (212) for contacting the output face (110) of the transducer (108). The container (200) is attachable to the transducer unit (100) and is arranged such that, upon attachment of the container (200) to the transducer unit (100), an acoustic coupling for ultrasound transmission is formed between the output face (110) of the transducer (108) and the contact surface (212).

Histotripsy for thrombolysis

Methods for performing non-invasive thrombolysis with ultrasound using, in some embodiments, one or more ultrasound transducers to focus or place a high intensity ultrasound beam onto a blood clot (thrombus) or other vascular inclusion or occlusion (e.g., clot in the dialysis graft, deep vein thrombosis, superficial vein thrombosis, arterial embolus, bypass graft thrombosis or embolization, pulmonary embolus) which would be ablated (eroded, mechanically fractionated, liquefied, or dissolved) by ultrasound energy. The process can employ one or more mechanisms, such as of cavitational, sonochemical, mechanical fractionation, or thermal processes depending on the acoustic parameters selected. This general process, including the examples of application set forth herein, is henceforth referred to as “Thrombolysis.”

CRANIOFACIAL IMPLANT INTEGRATING ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGY

A craniofacial implant includes a mounting plate, a low profile intercranial device including a static cranial implant and a functional neurosurgical implant, and an ultrasound transducer.

Methods for cancer treatment

Residual, refractory or relapsed cancer is treated by immunostimulation in the presence of allogeneic immune effector cells, optimally in combination with radiation therapy. The methods of the disclosure induce a systemic allogeneic anti-tumor immune response that results in tumor regression in untreated sites of disease, i.e. non-injected, non-irradiated, etc.

Ultrasound guided opening of blood-brain barrier
11534630 · 2022-12-27 · ·

A system for delivering drugs or other molecules to the brain comprises an ultrasound imaging transducer configured to image structures such as the circle of Willis within a patient's head by way of a low attenuation acoustic window. The system includes a processor configured to register the ultrasound images to previously obtained images which also include the structures. The system includes ultrasound transducer elements operable to deliver ultrasound energy to a target region to cause the blood brain barrier to open. The system may include a drug delivery system that may be operated to deliver a drug to the patient in coordination with opening the blood brain barrier. Coordinates of the target region relative to the ultrasound imaging transducer are determined using registration information.
