A plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 80) for a pre-filled medicament injector for expelling a dose of a medicament, comprising: a) a container (60) holding a medicament, the container (60) comprising a body (61) with a proximally facing rim surface (64), and a distally slideable piston (63); b) a plunger (40); and c) a tolerance compensating element (70; 80) configured to cooperate with the plunger (40) and to cooperate with either the proximally facing rim surface (64) or the piston (63), the tolerance compensating element (70; 80) being rotatable relative to the plunger (40) to adjust the piston (63) end of dose position. The plunger sub-assembly (40, 60, 70; 80) is formed so that end of dose state occurs by the plunger (40) cooperating with the proximally facing rim surface (64). A medication delivery device, for use with a container having a distal end and a needle being placed at the distal end of the container, including: a push rod which is movable with respect to at least a portion of the container; a resilient member configured to bias the push rod to move toward the distal end of the container; a releasable restraining means configured to releasably restrain the push rod in a locked state against the biasing of the resilient member; a means to adjust amount of movement of the push rod with respect to the container in order to deliver a predetermined dose of medication; and an activation means configured to release the releasable means. The means to adjust amount of movement of the push rod with respect to the container is bi-directional. The device can accommodate containers of different size or shape.

Dispensing device

A dispensing device is provided to dispense a designated amount of a material on every dose delivery operation. The dispensing device includes a thumb pad, a cam drum coupled to the thumb pad, and a pawl nut comprising a one-way pawl. The thumb pad may be pulled out in a direction away from a distal end of the dispensing device for setting a dose of the material to be dispensed out and may be pushed in towards the distal end for delivering the dose. The cam drum includes a plurality of linear cam profiles and a plurality of helical cam profiles that may be disposed on a surface of the cam drum. The one-way pawl may engage with a ratchet disposed at a distal end of the cam drum and may prevent a rotation of the cam drum in an undesired direction.

The present disclosure concerns a mechanism for setting a dose of a medicament for a variable dose drug delivery device, comprising: a housing, a sleeve component configured to rotate relative to the housing during a dose setting operation, and a stop member which is configured to limit a total amount of possible rotation of the sleeve component to a maximum and, thereby, to limit a maximum settable dose, wherein the stop member is configured to allow varying the maximum which determines the total amount of possible rotation of the sleeve component.

In a needleless syringe according to the present invention, a current is supplied to a solenoid coil to generate a magnetic field so as to move a moving magnetic body and a piston forward, and when the current to the solenoid coil is cut off, an elastic member for the moving magnetic body moves the moving magnetic body backward and an elastic member for the piston moves the piston backward, so that the piston to be injected by pressurizing a drug is configured to reciprocate repeatedly forward and backward and thus, a predetermined drug can be repeatedly injected at high speed. In addition, according to the present invention, time for which the current is applied to the solenoid coil, is adjusted to minimize recoil without adding a recoil offset structure so that the structure is simple and convenience of use can be improved.

A medication injection device comprising a medication container to contain medication; a connector provided with a blocking feature; a push rod having a plurality of teeth disposed along the length, and a spring biasing against the push rod to move proximally. The spring can be compression spring, extension spring, torsion spring, or constant force spring. By enabling or disabling engagement between the blocking feature on the connector and the tooth on the push rod, the push rod is either prevented from moving distally or allowed to move distally. The medication is drawn into the medication container when the push rod moves proximally and the medication is dispensed out of the medication container when the push rod moves distally.

DOSE SETTING MECHANISM AND METHOD OF LOCKING AN INJECTION PEN

A dose setting mechanism configured to set a desired dose for an injection device, the dose setting mechanism includes a housing, a dose setting knob, a dose setting device and a coupling element. The dose setting knob is configured to set the desired dose by a compulsory guided combined axial and rotational movement of the dose setting knob relative to the housing. Upon drug delivery, the dose setting knob is moved axially relative to the dose setting device or the housing and the coupling element is configured to engage at least one of the dose setting device and the housing to thereby permanently axially lock the dose setting knob to the respective one of the dose setting device and the housing.
