AUTOINJECTOR HAVING A DISCHARGE-RELEASE MEANS

An autoinjector including a housing; an axially fixed product container; a torsion spring; a drive element; a propulsion element; and a needle protection sleeve is configured such that when the autoinjector is pressed against an injection location, the needle protection sleeve undergoes an actuation movement in the proximal direction. For discharging liquid from the product container through an injection needle into the injection location, the torsion spring sets the drive element into rotation and the rotating drive element causes a movement of the propulsion element and a piston in the product container in the distal direction. The autoinjector includes a coupling which, due to the actuation movement of the needle protection sleeve, releases the drive element for rotation, where the coupling is between a first and second coupling element in an engagement of locking surfaces, and can be disengaged by an axial coupling stroke of the two coupling elements.

An injection device (10) comprises an injection solution receptacle (30) and a plunger (70) at least a portion of which is slidably received in the injection solution receptacle (30), wherein the plunger (70) is displaceable relative to the injection solution receptacle (30) in a distal direction in order to expel an injection solution contained in the injection solution receptacle (30) from the injection solution receptacle (30). A first plunger stop mechanism (140) is adapted to stop a displacement of the plunger (70) relative to the injection solution receptacle (30) in the distal direction at a first dosing position (P1). A second plunger stop mechanism (140) is adapted to stop a displacement of the plunger (70) relative to the injection solution receptacle (30) from the first dosing position (P1) in the distal direction at a second dosing position (P2), wherein the first and the second dosing position (P2) of the plunger (70) are selected in such a manner that the plunger (70), upon being displaced relative to the injection solution receptacle (30) between the first and the second dosing position (P2) is adapted to expel a desired dose of the injection solution contained in the injection solution receptacle (30) from the injection solution receptacle (30).

A Drug Delivery Device

A drug delivery device includes a housing, a drug delivery mechanism within the housing and displaceable between pre-delivery and mechanical stop positions, and an end of dose switch. The end of dose switch includes a first sensor disposed on the drug delivery mechanism and a second sensor element disposed within the housing. The switch is configured to be triggered when relative movement of the first and second sensors causes the first and second sensor elements to move into a switch position. The delivery mechanism is biased in a proximal direction away from the mechanical stop position. The device includes a controller configured to: record when the end of dose switch is triggered;

measure a duration of time between triggering the switch and the first and second sensors moving out of the switch position; and generate an error code indicative of a deviation between manipulations applied and a predetermined handling scheme.

Drug Delivery Device with Pneumatic Power Pack

A drug delivery device configured to provide a dose of medicament is disclosed. The drug delivery device includes a main housing, a syringe arranged in the main housing, and a pneumatic power pack arranged in the main housing. The pneumatic power pack includes a pressurized gas source storing pressurized gas, a valve for the pressurized gas source, a sleeve having an inner wall, and a plunger. The sleeve is configured to receive pressurized gas released from the pressurized gas source. The plunger is in sliding gas-tight engagement with the inner wall of the sleeve. Upon activation of the valve, the valve releases the pressurized gas, and the released pressurized gas flows into the sleeve and propels the plunger in a distal direction with respect to the sleeve and the syringe, so as to eject medicament from the syringe.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH INCREASED SAFETY

A disposable, single-dose delivery device for self-administration by a patient of a predefined amount or dose of drug from a reservoir through an outlet of the reservoir includes a device operation lock to prevent a delivery operation of the delivery device as shipped to the patient, an embedded electronic control unit with a wireless receiver for receiving an unlock command or message, and an electromechanical actuator for mechanically unlocking the device operation lock and enabling delivery device operation by the patient. The control unit is configured to activate the actuator instantaneously and unconditionally upon receipt of the unlock command. The unlocking mechanism of the delivery device is adapted to be activated from remote in response to a confirmative message indicative of additional double check by a Health Care Professional HCP or expert system.

INJECTOR WITH ADJUSTABLE DOSING

An injector for injecting a medicament in a patient. The injector includes a container comprising a fluid chamber containing a first volume of a medicament, and an injection conduit associated with the fluid chamber for defining a fluid pathway therefrom to inject the medicament from the fluid chamber through the injection conduit to an injection location. The injector also includes a firing mechanism associated with the fluid chamber for expelling the medicament from the fluid chamber through the injection conduit, arid a volume-control mechanism operable to control a fraction of the first volume of medicament that is injected when the firing mechanism is actuated to inject the medicament.

Described herein is a generalized injection device for delivering formulations of various mechanical properties to precise locations. Of particular interest is the manifestation intended for the application of a thermally responsive hydrogel to the tear duct for the purpose of occlusion, as a treatment for symptoms associated with dry eye syndrome. Further, a modular solution to the need for an injection device across a variety of applications, mechanism, and physical considerations is provided. This disclosure provides examples of methods for precise injection of low volumes, moisture retention in pre-filled injection devices, and actuation for automatic or manual injection, to name a few.

AUTOINJECTOR WITH DISCHARGE DETECTION

An autoinjector includes a housing, a product container, a torsion spring, a drive element, and a propulsion element. In order to discharge liquid out of the product container, the torsion spring rotates the drive element, and the rotating drive element produces a propulsive movement of the propulsion element and of a piston in the product container. A rotation sensor is configured for an alternating continuous detection of at least two rotational positions per revolution of the drive element during the discharge process, and a processor unit is configured for determining the axial position of the piston in the product container from the detected rotational positions.
