The invention relates to a method for connecting a first component, in particular a lancing means, to a second component, in particular a syringe body, in order to produce a product for medical or cosmetic purposes, by means of adhesion, having the following steps: (a) providing the first and the second component; (b) tempering at least one first contact surface of the first component and/or at least one second contact surface of the second component to a temperature T1; and (c) applying an adhesive to at least one portion of the first contact surface and/or to at least one portion of the second contact surface, wherein the adhesive is at a temperature T2, wherein temperatures T1 and T2 differ only by a tolerance deviation, wherein the tolerance deviation is at most 10° C.

Soft tip cannula with retractable tip protector

Injector devices and methods for using them to deliver medicament into a patient's body, e.g., sub-retinally within an eye, are provided. The injector includes an injector cannula having a soft injector tip. A retractable tip protector tube is slidably disposed on the flow cannula between an extended position in which the tip protector tube covers the entire injector tip, and a retracted position in which the tip protector tube is retracted proximally thereby exposing at least part of the injector tip. Accordingly, the tip protector tube protects the injector tip from being damaged while advancing the injector tip to a target injection site.

Pen needle hub injection depth optimization

A needle hub (10) for a pen needle is provided with an enlarged surface for contact with the skin of a patient. The enlarged surface is provided with a surface having a dimension and shape to enable a needle or cannula to penetrate the skin to a desired depth and permit substantially the entire exposed length of the needle or cannula to penetrate the skin to the desired depth. The surface of the needle hub can be formed by an inner cone shaped member (26) forming a first contact surface with a surface area of about 1-5 mm.sup.2 and an outer ring (28) at a peripheral edge forming a second contact surface with a combined surface area of about 15 to 50 mm.sup.2.

DRUG INJECTION DEVICE

A drug injection device contains a needle holder, an ejector, a needle member, and an actuation assembly. The needle holder defines a drug delivery direction extending toward the injection end. The ejector contains a fixing segment that is fixed to the needle holder and located in the drug delivery direction, and the abutting segment extending toward the injection end and protruding beyond the needle holder. The needle member is movably arranged relative to the needle holder and contains a needle shaft connected to a needle hub coaxially arranged with the ejector for the abutting segment inserting into the needle shaft. The actuator assembly connects the needle holder and the needle shaft for driving the needle member between a first position and a second position with respect to the needle holder.

Needle-equipped outer cylinder and method for manufacturing the same

A needle-equipped outer cylinder includes: a needle tube; a joining member comprising: a needle tube accommodation hole that accommodates a proximal end side portion of the needle tube and penetrates the joining member from a distal end of the joining member to a proximal end of the joining member, and a joining outer peripheral portion provided on an outer peripheral portion of the needle tube accommodation hole; and an outer cylinder member comprising: a distal end joint that comprises an inner cavity that receives the joining outer peripheral portion of the joining member from a distal end side, and a projection located at a proximal end portion of the inner cavity and projecting into the inner cavity. The joining member comprises, at a proximal end portion of the joining member, an abutment portion that abuts the projection of the outer cylinder member.

An injection device including a syringe including a barrel having a distal end and a proximal end and a tip provided on the distal end of the barrel, the barrel defining an internal bore extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the barrel; a luer lock adaptor including a body having a proximal end and a distal end, a reduced-diameter portion provided on the proximal end of the body, and a threading provided on an outer surface of the body, the reduced-diameter portion defining an opening to receive the tip of the syringe in a friction fit; and a needle hub including a body defining an inner cavity, a needle receiving portion extending distally from the body, and a skirt extending inwardly into the inner cavity.

Plasma treatment method for coating a glass syringe body for a hypodermic pre-filled glass syringe

Method for coating a glass syringe body for a hypodermic pre-filled glass syringe, wherein at least one emulsion and/or one solution containing at least one layer-forming substance is applied to at least one inner surface of the hypodermic pre-filled glass syringe, which defines an axial direction, wherein at least a partial surface of the inner surface in a syringe cone of the pre-filled glass syringe is subsequently exposed to a plasma, wherein a negative pressure source is arranged in relation to the syringe cone in the axial direction opposite the atmospheric-pressure plasma source, wherein a negative pressure of less than atmospheric pressure is provided by means of the negative pressure source.

PEN NEEDLE HUB WITH A PATIENT CONTACT SURFACE

A needle-bearing hub for a pen needle is provided with a distal patient-facing side having an enlarged surface for contact with the subject's skin. The enlarged surface is provided with a radius of curvature that increases the likelihood that the needle reaches full injection depth when an injection is performed at an inclined angle with respect to the surface of the skin and with to the desired depth less discomfort to the patient.

A storage device (30) for storing a pen needle assembly (10) includes a housing (30) having first wells (44) with a dimension for receiving the pen needle assembly and second wells (46) for receiving an inner shield (24) of the pen needle assembly. The second wells (46) have a diameter less than a diameter of the first wells (44). An ejector (40) in the housing (34) can be actuated to eject the used needle hub (16) and outer covers (22) from the first well (44) and the inner shield (24) from the second well (46) for disposal. A method of coupling a pen needle delivery device to a needle hub positions a needle hub assembly (18) in the first well (44) and inserts the coupling end of the delivery device (10) into the first well (44) and is coupled to the needle hub. The needle hub is pulled from the outer cover (22). The inner shield (24) is inserted into the second well (46) to remove the inner shield from the needle hub.

Pressure indicator for medicament delivery device

A medicament delivery device having a reservoir for holding a medicament, a pressurizing system that dispenses the medicament from the reservoir when operating, a hollow cannula for insertion into a patient, and a fluid delivery path disposed between the pressurizing system and the hollow cannula and communicating the medicament therebetween. The medicament delivery device also has a pressure sensor external to the pressurizing system, sensing a back pressure in the fluid delivery path, and providing an indication when the back pressure drops below a predetermined threshold after the pressurizing system ceases operation.
