The radiation treatment system comprises a radiation generation device, an irradiation chamber used for placing a patient, a carrying device used for transferring and bearing the patient, a collimator provided in the irradiation chamber, an irradiation parameter verification device used for determining whether the position of the patient is suitable for performing radiation irradiation treatment or not, and a collimator model, wherein the collimator comprises a collimator outlet; the collimator model comprises a collimator model outlet; the shape and the size of the collimator model outlet are the same as those of the collimator outlet, and the size of the collimator model in the direction perpendicular to the collimator model outlet is smaller than the size of the collimator in the direction perpendicular to the collimator outlet.
Automated 3D dosimetry
An improved hodoscope radiation detector includes a cone filled with a plastic medium that is closer to the density of water (“tissue equivalent”) than air. The medium may have the following properties: 1) Highly transparent with little optical distortion 2) Produces light along the path of incident radiation (x-rays, protons, and ions of heavier weight like carbon, helium, etc.—also called hadrons) 3) Moldable and/or machinable (i.e., not a hard crystal) 4) Homogeneous—evenly distributed density. This medium can fill the cone completely or only a section of the cone (i.e., frustum) or a subsection of the cone such as a cylinder.
Method and apparatus for emission guided radiation therapy
An apparatus comprising a radiation source, coincident positron omission detectors configured to detect coincident positron annihilation emissions originating within a coordinate system, and a controller coupled to the radiation source and the coincident positron emission detectors, the controller configured to identify coincident positron annihilation emission paths intersecting one or more volumes in the coordinate system and align the radiation source along an identified coincident positron annihilation emission path.
Planning and control for magnetic resonance guided radiation therapy
Magnetic resonance (MR) guided radiation therapy (MRgRT) enables control over the delivery of radiation based on patient motion indicated by MR imaging (MRI) images captured during radiation delivery. A method for MRgRT includes: simultaneously using one or more radiation therapy heads to deliver radiation and an MRI system to perform MRI; using a processor to determine whether one or more gates are triggered based on at least a portion of MRI images captured during the delivery of radiation; and in response to determining that one or more gates are triggered based on at least a portion of the MRI images captured during the delivery of radiation, suspending the delivery of radiation.
Methods and apparatus for controlling treatment delivery using reinforcement learning
Methods and systems are provided which relate to the planning and delivery of radiation treatments by modalities which involve moving a radiation source along a trajectory relative to a subject while delivering radiation to the subject. An artificial intelligence (AI) agent trained using reinforcement learning (and/or some other suitable form of machine learning) is used to control the radiation delivery parameters in effort to achieve desired delivery of radiation therapy. In some embodiments, the AI agent selects suitable control steps (e.g. radiation delivery parameters for particular time steps), while accounting for patient motions, difference(s) in patient anatomical geometry and/or the like.
