FIREFIGHTING SYSTEM FOR AN EXTRACTOR DUCT, IN PARTICULAR OF A COOKING ZONE
The invention presents a firefighting system for an extractor duct, in particular of a cooking area, having a duct, which has an inlet side and an outlet side, which is spaced apart from the inlet side, and defines a direction of the extracted air flow from the inlet side to the outlet side. The invention also proposes that at least one spray mist nozzle, preferably a plurality of spray mist nozzles, are installed in the firefighting system, said spray mist nozzles each having a plurality of separate spray mist outlets, wherein the spray mist outlets each have a predetermined K-factor and are oriented at an angle to one another.
Fusible mechanical linkages for fire suppression systems
A fusible mechanical linkage includes a tensioner having an aperture and a spool with guides arranged on an end of the spool opposite the aperture. The guides define a cable seat between one another. A fusible alloy is arranged between the spool and the tensioner, the fusible alloy fixing the spool to the tensioner below a predetermined temperature, the fusible alloy allowing tension carried by an actuation cable received in the cable seat to rotate the spool relative to the tensioner above the predetermined temperature. Fire suppression systems and methods adjusting actuation cables in fire suppression systems are described.
PULL STATION RELEASE MECHANISM
A manual activation system includes a pulley movable between an inactive position and an active position, a tension member wrapped about the pulley, the tension member having a tensile force acting on the pulley, and at least one arm rotatably mounted adjacent to the pulley. The at least one arm has a groove configured to cooperate with a portion of the pulley to selectively oppose the tensile force.
STOVE TOP FIRE EXTINGUISHING DEVICE
An apparatus is disclosed for extinguishing a stovetop fire over a stovetop having a first burner, the apparatus including a container detachably mountable to a microwave positioned above the stove top. A supply of fire suppressant material is retained within the container. A heat responsive actuator is disposed on the container. When the container is mounted to the microwave over the first burner, and the fire actuates the heat responsive actuator, at least a portion of the supply of fire suppressant material falls from the container toward the first burner.
System and method for delivering a cooling agent to a gas-fueled cooking appliance to aid in fire suppression
A system for delivering a cooling agent to cooking appliance to aid in fire suppression is disclosed, which includes a fuel delivery path extending from a source of cooking fuel to a heating element of the cooking appliance, a source of cooling agent selectively in fluid communication with the fuel delivery path, and a valve assembly associated with the fuel delivery path and the source of cooling agent, wherein the valve assembly is configured to control the delivery of cooling agent to the heating element of the cooking appliance and shut off the heating element from the source of cooking fuel in the event of a fire.
EXTINGUISHING NOZZLE ADAPTER FOR FITTING AN EXTINGUISHING NOZZLE TO A WALL, AND FIRE-FIGHTING SYSTEM COMPRISING SAID EXTINGUISHING NOZZLE ADAPTER
The invention relates to an extinguishing nozzle adapter for mounting an extinguishing nozzle on a wall, having a housing and a chamber for receiving an extinguishing nozzle, wherein the housing has an extinguishing agent connection to the chamber, via which connection the chamber is able to be pressurized with extinguishing agent, wherein the chamber is designed to receive the extinguishing nozzle in a movable manner such that the extinguishing nozzle is movable back and forth between a first, retracted position and a second, advanced position, and is moved in the direction of the advanced position when the chamber is pressurized by means of the extinguishing agent.
System and method for delivering fire suppression agent to an obstructed gas appliance
A system for delivering a fire suppression agent to an obstructed cooking appliance is disclosed, which includes a fuel delivery path extending from a source of cooking fuel to a burner of the cooking appliance, a source of fire suppression agent selectively in fluid communication with the fuel delivery path, and a valve assembly associated with the fuel delivery path and the source of fire suppression agent, wherein the valve assembly is configured to control the delivery of fire suppression agent to the burner of the cooking appliance and shut off the burner from the source of cooking fuel.
Fire extinguishing range assembly
A fire extinguishing range assembly includes a range has an oven is integrated therein and a plurality of burners. An oven temperature sensor is integrated into the range and a burner temperature sensor is integrated into the range. A fire extinguisher is integrated into the range and the fire extinguisher contains a fire retardant. The fire extinguisher is actuated when either of the burner temperature sensor or the oven temperature sensor senses a temperature that exceeds a pre-determined temperature. A plurality of nozzles is strategically distributed around the range. Each of nozzles is in fluid communication with the fire extinguisher thereby facilitating each of the nozzles to spray the fire retardant when the fire extinguisher is actuated to extinguish a fire that is burning in or on the range.
ELECTRONIC FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM FOR USE IN RESTAURANTS
A global fire suppression system includes a primary controller, and a plurality of local fire suppression systems. Each local fire suppression system includes a secondary controller coupled to the primary controller, at least one detection device coupled to the secondary controller, and at least one release device coupled to the secondary controller. Each secondary controller is configured to act as the primary controller should the local fire suppression system become isolated from the primary controller.
SENSOR-ENABLED RANGE HOOD SYSTEM AND METHOD
A sensor-enabled range hood can be used with a cooking appliance. Information from multiple sensors can be used to determine whether abnormal or hazardous conditions are present, such as when unattended cooking is detected. A local indication or a remote notification can be generated in response to one or more conditions. A control signal to control a cooking appliance or range hood can be issued in response to one or more conditions. A remediation signal to address an actual fire present can be issued, such as to trigger fire remediation.
