DEVICE FOR PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF FOREST FIRE
20210379430 · 2021-12-09 ·

A forest fire spread prevention device as an automatic fire extinguishing device for a forest fire may suppress an occurrence of property loss and loss of lives by blocking the forest fire in the middle so that it does not spread to nearby private houses when a forest fire occurs. The forest fire spread prevention device can include a burlap bag-shaped outer skin member which is woven with a thermoplastic plastic tape having a melting point of 160 to 280° C. as a weft and a warp; and an inner skin member of a cylindrical container which is accommodated in the outer skin member and formed in a film shape prepared by extruding a thermoplastic plastic material having a thickness of 15 to 50 microns and a melting point of 110 to 130° C. in a cylindrical shape, and has an inner space filled with water.

DAMAGE MITIGATING APPARATUS AND METHOD

Damage mitigating apparatus comprises in one embodiment a damage mitigating aerial vehicle that has sensors for detecting flight related characteristics and a communication unit for commanding activation of parachute deploying apparatus and of a lift generator deactivation unit following determination of a flight failure. In one embodiment, an aerial vehicle transmits a critical failure alarm signal to an unmanned aircraft traffic management system (UTM) following detection of the failure, and the UTM transmits a warning signal to neighboring aerial vehicles that are predicted to be in a vicinity of the descent path of the failed aerial vehicle to avoid collision with the failed aerial vehicle. The damage mitigating apparatus facilitates performance of a damage mitigating operation.

Universal protection system
11344756 · 2022-05-31 ·

A fire-protection system comprising two elements is disclosed: 1) A retractable fire-protection covering or mat that may be automatically deployed over a building and stowed after the threat has passed; and, 2) A water fire spray system for wetting the lower aspects of a building to protect the lower and uncovered aspects of a building from fire. Using these systems simultaneously allows the user to mitigate forest and brush fire threats that may periodically threaten a building.

FIRE GUARD

An apparatus for protecting structures against wildfires by means of thermal insulation.

Concertina smoke or fire barrier
11179586 · 2021-11-23 · ·

A concertina smoke or fire barrier comprising a curtain having a plurality of concertina-fold curtain webs and a plurality of concertina flanges. The flanges extend from a stitching joint between each adjacent pair of curtain webs. Normally closed door opening in the curtain, the door opening being provided by a slit extending through several of curtain webs and their flanges. Cuts in the flanges adjacent to the slit allow flange portions between the slit and the cuts to be stitched against their webs. A strip of curtain web material is stitched to the curtain webs on one side of the slit for covering it when the door opening is closed. Hook and loop fastening tape is located on both sides of the slit, one piece of the tape being stitched to the strip and another complementary piece being stitched to the curtain webs to the other side of the slit.

High Temperature Flexible Insulation For Extreme Environments
20230294379 · 2023-09-21 ·

A flexible insulation material may be configured to substantially reduce the amount of radiation transmitted therethrough by incorporating a reflective mat of high temperature fibers that withstand temperatures of at least 500° C. The flexible insulation may be stored and used over temperatures ranging from −270° C. to 5000° C. The mat may have optical properties to produce a transmittance of no more than 5% over a range of temperature from 500° C. to 5000 vC. The mat may include high temperature fibers such as carbon and/or silicon carbide and these fibers may be coupled by a binder in a non-woven fabric. The flexible insulation material may be configured in the Flexible Thermal Protection System of a deployable aerodynamic decelerator or a Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator and may be durably flexible.

Portable firewall
11173329 · 2021-11-16 ·

A self-contained, portable firewall is provided having a rectangular configuration with a catwalk and a railing on the top side for accommodating a plurality of manned firefighting stations. The catwalk can comprise two openings, which can be covered by doors or hatches, that allow exit and entry of the manned firefighting stations through stairs located within the firewall structure. The stairs terminate at the floor and lead to a plurality of reinforced doors. Embodiments of the firewall comprise central doors having side doors flanking each central door, and each central door operatively associated with a status light. The manned firefighting stations are fed from at least one fluid input located at the bottom of the firewall structure, and the firewall structure further comprises a plurality of vents, fans and fume hoods.

PROTECTING BUILDINGS AGAINST WILDFIRE AND STRONG WIND
20220008767 · 2022-01-13 ·

Apparatuses and methods for protecting buildings which are likely to fall in the path of wildfire and/or strong wind are disclosed. The apparatus comprises two main parts: the first part comprises a set of rigid poles pre-installed in the ground surrounding a building to be protected, and, the second part comprises a set of frames, each frame supporting a mesh that, when extended over the building to be protected, shields at least a portion of the building underlying the mesh from the destructive force of fire and/or strong wind. The set of frames with its corresponding meshes, when assembled together, forms a continuous protective pyramid-shaped net that covers the entire building. The set of frames and the set of rigid poles have complementary mechanical receptacles to lock with one another so that the rigid poles collectively provide ground support when the frames are deployed over the building.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING A FIRE RESISTANT BLANKET FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION

An airborne fire suppression system comprising a flying device, a deployment apparatus and folded fire suppressing blanket configured to allow quick and smooth deployment on or as a barrier to a forest fire or a building or other object on fire.

AUTOMATED INDUSTRIAL FIREFIGHTING BLANKET PLATFORM SYSTEM

A fire blanket deployment system includes a fire blanket assembly including a foldable fire blanket that is detachably coupled to a carrier. The foldable fire blanket is initially in a folded state. The system can include a frame having a plurality of vertical supports that are spaced apart from one another and for placement about an asset to be protected. A first suspension system is coupled to the plurality of vertical supports and is configured to move the fire blanket assembly to a target location between the plurality of vertical supports. A second suspension system that is coupled to the plurality of vertical supports and is configured to controllably unfold the fire blanket once the fire blanket assembly in at the target location. The second suspension system has an automatic detachment mechanism that allows the unfolded fire blanket to move downward toward the asset to be protected.
