The present invention also relates to a rowing, kayaking or exercise system comprising a rowing seat according to the present invention.

Rowing machine having a beam with a hinge joint

A rowing machine includes a frame where the frame includes a first support, a second support, and a beam extending between the first support and the second support. A track is defined by at least a portion of the beam, and a sliding member is movably disposed on the track. A hinge joint is disposed in the beam between the first support and the second support defining a first section of the beam and a second section of the beam.

DOUBLE RETRACTABLE ROWING RESISTANCE SYSTEM WITH CONFIGURABLE AND CONVERTIBLE SWINGING SEAT-BASED EXERCISE MACHINE
20220161094 · 2022-05-26 ·

An exercise machine is described that incorporates a double retractable resistance band system for rowing exercises and that includes a multi-purpose, morphable swinging seat assembly that applies to convertible exercise machines and rowing boats. The double retractable rowing system is detachably integrated into a base plate (inclined planar board) of the exercise machine. The base plate consists of a platform set at an angle consistent with the foot-placements of sit-down rowing machines and rowing shells together with an integral set of quick-release slots located above and to the outside of the toes of the foot placement positions. The multi-purpose, morphable swinging seat assembly provides an improved method/structural assembly for seat-based rowing machines, convertible/multi-purpose exercise machines and an improved architecture for boat-based rowing systems.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INCREASED REALISM OF TRAINING ON EXERCISE MACHINES
20210354002 · 2021-11-18 ·

A computer-implemented system for an exercise machine includes a mechanical energy storage device and an apparatus configured to supplement the resistance of the mechanical energy storage device with an added resistance and dissipate the energy of the mechanical energy storage device and an associated athlete. A communication pathway enables the exercise machine to communicate with at least one additional associated exercise machine to duplicate the total resistance in the exercise machine to an associated exercise machine. A central server includes a processor, memory, and a networking interface. A first user device includes a display, a processor, a memory, and a networking interface. The central server receives data from the exercise machine, extracts synchronization performance information from the data, and transmits the synchronization performance data to the first user device where it is used to train an athlete for an athletic endeavor.

BALANCE BASE FOR ROWING MACHINE
20220001234 · 2022-01-06 ·

The invention relates to a balance base for a rowing machine. The base is used as a stand for the rowing machine, and the rowing machine can be positioned thereon in a fixed manner. At least one spring element is provided, wherein the at least one spring element is arranged between an upper frame and a lower frame, and the at least one spring element comprises an elastic or viscoelastic material, the tilting rigidity of which is both lower than the tensile-compressive rigidity of the spring and lower than the shear stiffness of the spring. An exercise machine includes a frame which contains a flywheel which rotates around an axle coupled to spools. Original cords are wrapped around the spools and extend to upper pulleys on the frame. The original cords are coupled to adapter cords which extend to lower pulleys on the exercise machine. By pulling the adapter cords, the spools are rotated which causes the flywheel to spin. The adapter cords are released and springs retract the original cords so they can be pulled again. The lower pulleys lower the exit position of the adapter cords so that the exercise machine can be used with hand paddles to simulate swimming, paddle shafts to simulate paddling movements, exercise handles to simulate upper body functional exercises, or ankle straps to simulate lower body functional exercises.
