An anterior surface is coupled to the teeth engagement portion opposite the medial surface. A first breathing channel extends from the anterior surface to the medial surface. A second breathing channel extends from the anterior surface to the medial surface. A third breathing channel extends from the anterior surface to the medial surface. A first interior wall is disposed between the first breathing channel and the second breathing channel. The first interior wall is configured to be aligned with a first upper incisor of a wearer. A second interior wall is disposed between the second breathing channel and the third breathing channel. The second interior wall is configured to be aligned with a second upper incisor of the wearer.
PERSONAL AIR FILTRATION APPARATUS AND METHOD
An apparatus and methods for air filtration are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body and first and second replaceable filters. The body of the apparatus further contains an air-exchange assembly and a filter receiver attached to the air exchange assembly. The air-exchange assembly contains an exhaust tube with an open end and a closed end, two wings on opposite sides of the exhaust tube, and an intake check valve and an exhaust check valve inside the exhaust tube. The first replaceable filter surrounds the filter receiver; and the second replaceable filter is inside the filter receiver. Several apertures and the check valves are strategically disposed in the exhaust tube to achieve optimal air filtration and avoid contamination of a user's exhaust.
Mouthguard with tapered breathing channel
A mouthguard according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a pair of spaced lateral bite wings, a conduit defining an air channel extending between forward portions of the lateral bite wings, and a lip shield member and/or a flange disposed around and extending radially outward with respect to a forward end of the conduit. The conduit is tapered inward from its forward end toward its rearward end, and defines an incisor engaging surface proximate the rearward end of the conduit, and a lip engaging surface between the incisor engaging surface and the forward end of the conduit.
MAXILLARY AND MANDIBULAR DEVICES THAT INCREASE THE SMALLEST CONCENTRIC AIRWAY CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA OF A USER FOR IMPROVEMENTS DURING PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Methods of lowering heart rate during physical activity for a user in need of an increase in their smallest concentric airway cross-sectional area include providing the person with a mandibular repositioning device having a maxillary tooth covering having a driver flange protruding laterally outward on a right and left side proximate a backmost teeth mold and a mandibular tooth covering having a protrusive flange extending cranially therefrom positioned to have a posterior side engaged with the anterior side of each driver flange. The anterior side of each driver flange has a convex curvature, and the posterior side of each protrusive flange has a concave-to-convex curvature from its base toward its most cranial point and a convex portion of the concave-to convex curvature engages the convex curvature of the driver flange in a rest position, and downward movement of the mandibular piece moves the user's mandible forward as well.
Supplement dispensing mouthguard device
A supplement dispensing mouthguard device is an apparatus that readily supplies supplements into the mouth of a user while the user is performing an exercise. The apparatus includes an upper U-shaped platform, a lower U-shaped platform, an inner curved wall, an outer curved wall, a main fastener, a supplement reservoir, at least one inlet, and a plurality of outlets. The upper U-shaped platform and the lower U-shaped platform protects the teeth. The inner curved wall and the outer curved wall protects the tongue and the inner walls of the cheeks of the user. The main fastener connects the upper U-shaped platform with the lower U-shaped platform and seals the at least one inlet. The supplement reservoir contains the desired supplement. The at least one inlet provides access into the supplement reservoir. The plurality of outlets distributes the supplement into the mouth of the user.
Oral training appliance
An oral training appliance for training the tongue and lips of a person is disclosed. The appliance comprises a U shaped body comprising a front section and two arms, an inner wall and an outer wall. A tongue training member extends from the inner wall and is moveable in response to movement by the user's tongue from a rest configuration to a training configuration. The appliance also comprises a lip training member and is moveable in response to movement of a user's lower lip from a rest configuration to a training configuration and the lip training member is biased towards the rest configuration.
Low profile articulation jaw joint stabilizer device
The diagnosed soft tissue or brain injury component of concussions is generally defined by the symptoms of the temporal lobe manifestations. However, there is an undiagnosed structural fractured component of concussions occurring within the jaw joint complex which is the focus of this invention. A precise imaging technique and the powerful 3D Cone beam scanning technology, together, have revealed fractures in temporal bones of the jaw joint space which supports the temporal lobe of the brain. These fractures are the results of the lower jaw impact forces that cause concussions and this mechanism account for a large percent of the concussions arising in sports and military operations. These fractures have never been considered, diagnosed, or treated in the management of concussions. Fracturing temporal bones in the jaw joint that supports the temporal lobe will certainly produce the symptoms of temporal lobe manifestations. With early detection, these fractures can be more rapidly healed, eliminating many temporal lobe symptoms of concussions. The device of the present invention reduces the risk of the lower jaw impact concussion and temporal bone fractures, while enhancing the ability to speak and orally communicate.
HEAT MOULDABLE MOUTH GUARD
The present disclosure relates to heat mouldable mouth guards, to methods for using the mouth guards, and to methods for producing the mouth guards. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provides a heat mouldable mouth guard, the mouth guard comprising: an inner framework comprising a semi-rigid thermoplastic; and an outer layer comprising an elastomeric thermoplastic which has a melting temperature higher than the semi-rigid thermoplastic of the inner framework, wherein the outer layer substantially encapsulates the inner framework.
Mouth guard
A mouth guard designed to minimize discomfort and speech interference associated with conventional mouthpieces is disclosed. The mouth guard has a substantially uniform thickness on the facial/buccal and biting surfaces of the anterior and posterior teeth, and along the lingual surface of the posterior teeth. The thickness of the mouth guard along the lingual surface of the anterior teeth is greater near the biting surface than near the gum line. This minimizes interference with the wearer's tongue, making it relatively easy to drink, speak, and breathe, while protecting the anterior and posterior teeth from impact from the front or underneath. The mouth guard can be a boil-and-bite or custom-made mouth guard, and can also include an impact shield, one or more power wedges or shock absorbers, a flavoring component, and/or an antibacterial component.
Cardiorespiratory Fitness Optimizer Apparatus
A cardiorespiratory fitness optimizer apparatus includes a mouthpiece and a valve assembly. The mouthpiece includes lower and upper tooth beds and an anterior manifold. The manifold terminates anteriorly at a centralized valve assembly interface and includes at least one air-letting aperture. The valve assembly is matable with the centralized valve assembly interface and includes an adjustable aperture. The user is able to adjust the aperture for increasing and decreasing airflow resistance therethrough for optimizing cardiorespiratory fitness. The cardiorespiratory fitness optimizer apparatus may include at least one sensor for sensing airflow activity within the valve assembly and communicating data relating to the airflow activity to an external device for displaying human readable output relating to the airflow activity upon the external device. The valve assembly is removable from the mouthpiece and replaceable with a plug element for maintaining anterior formations of the mouthpiece when the valve assembly is removed.
