Golf club heads with golf coupling mechanisms

Embodiments of golf coupling mechanisms for joining golf club heads and shafts are described herein. The golf coupling mechanism allows for adjustment of a club head loft angle, a club head lie angle, and a golf club shaft length while utilizing one club head and one shaft. In a fully extended configuration, the golf coupling mechanism includes a shaft sleeve, a removable spacer, and a removable extender, wherein a fastening assembly secures the golf coupling mechanism to the golf club head. In a contracted configuration, the golf coupling mechanism includes the shaft sleeve. The golf coupling mechanism further includes a shaft cap to soften the interaction between the shaft and the golf coupling mechanism. The golf coupling mechanism further comprises one or more arcuate coupler sets to frictionally lock the shaft relative to the golf club head.

A golf club head with a lightweight shaft-receiving structure is described herein. The lightweight shaft-receiving structure comprises one or more lightweight components provided in low-stress areas of the club head, wherein the lightweight components form portions of the shaft-receiving structure that would otherwise be formed by higher-density body material. The lightweight shaft-receiving structure creates discretionary mass that can be redistributed to improve the club head mass properties.

An adjustable interchangeable golf club with a faceplate-based platform to receive components for enhancing and controlling various aspects that control the golf ball flight and spin characteristics. Disclosed are components for adjusting loft and bounce angle, and interchangeable faceplate and rear flange styles. Novel milled surface roughness for enhanced spin control is disclosed along with new milling methods for achieving optimal surface roughness. Lightweight hosel and consequent redistribution of mass in club head greatly increases the inertia of the golf club. Centrally located hosel position aids in club head stability on off-center hits. This results in a golf club that hits the ball higher, straighter, longer, and with increased ball spin characteristics.

A modular golf club head system provides a hosel adapter that can be attached to the club head at different rotational positions to selectively change the loft or lie angle of the club head. The club head defines a hosel ball socket, and a locator pin extends from the socket. The hosel adapter has a shaft end configured for connecting to a golf club shaft, and a distal end including a hosel ball inserted into the hosel ball socket. The hosel ball defines at least one first locator pin recess and at least one second locator pin recess. The locator pin recesses formed in said hosel ball at differing angles, wherein insertion of the locator pin into the first locator pin recess defines at least one of the loft and lie angle of the club head, and insertion of the locator pin into the second locator pin recess defines a different loft or lie angle of the club head.

In a golf club head assembly a body member has a top-forward angled front face, the face comprising a plurality of generally forward-facing teeth. The golf club head assembly further comprises a loft angle adjustment mechanism attached to the body member for adjusting a loft angle of the face. The mechanism includes a hosel element releasably attached to a bar rotatably mounted to an upper side of the body member parallel to the face. The bar is rotatably journaled or mounted in a pair of bar supports attached to the body member. Set screws reside in threaded holes in the bar supports, the set screws operable to releasably lock the bar in a selected orientation relative to the body member, where the selected orientation of the bar corresponds to and determines the loft angle of the front face. The forward angle of the front face, the angles of the teeth, and loft angle of the face are jointly chosen to impart a pure rolling motion onto a struck golf ball.

This golf club includes a shaft, a golf club head, a first adapter, a second adapter, and a fixing member that fixes the first adapter in an interior space of a hosel portion. The shaft is configured to be coupled with an inclination relative to the coupling portion of the first adapter, and the first adapter is configured to be coupled with an inclination relative to the second adapter.

Interchangeable shaft system

A golf club incorporating an interchangeable shaft system includes a shaft, a shaft sleeve, a club head. The shaft sleeve is coupled to an end of the shaft and is received in a hosel included in the club head. The shaft sleeve is removably coupled to the club head. Hosel and shaft sleeve alignment features provide discrete orientations between the shaft and club head.

Golf club head

A golf club head comprises a body having a face, a crown and a sole together defining an interior cavity. The body having a channel located on the sole and extending generally from a heel end of the body to a toe end of the body. A weight member movably positioned within the channel such that a position of the weight member within the channel is able to be adjusted, thereby adjusting a location of a center of gravity of the body. Additionally, adjustment of the weight member provides a maximum x-axis adjustment range of the position of the center of gravity (Max ΔCGx) that is greater than 2 mm and a maximum z-axis adjustment range of the center of gravity (Max ΔCGz) that is less than 2 mm.
