Curling Brush with Improved Pressure Distribution, Snap-Fit Head Assembly, Moulded Brush Pad and Pivot Limiting Means
A curling brush head incorporates an array of rib-like and ring-like structures designed to effectively transmit force from the handle through the brush head and onto the surface of the ice. A receptacle of the head attaches to the brush handle, and incorporates the ribs and rings which transmit the force to the pad. The pad is features a mounting plate, a layer of pad material, and a layer of fabric material, all of which are co-moulded into a single unit. The mounting plate allows the pad to be attached to the receptacle by way of a convenient snap-fit. A brush handle incorporates a radial enlargement, for example in a mandrel thereof, so that abutting contact between the enlargement and the topside of the brush head limits the angular range of movement therebetween to prevent the brush head from overturning during slide delivery of a curling rock.
CURLING BROOM HEAD AND REMOVABLE HANDLE ATTACHMENT
The curling broom head is composed of a fabric section, flexible section, lower body, upper body, and a stem or stem assembly that is used to attach the broom head to the broom handle. The fabric section is a stand-alone piece of fabric that can easily be removed and replaced by the user. The fabric section is wrapped around the flexible section and lower body and is secured into place and ready for game play when the lower body is attached to the upper body. At any time, the curling fabric may be easily replaced by separating the upper and lower bodies, removing the old fabric from the lower body and replacing it with new fabric.
The curling broom handle is an elongated member that is attached to the broom head on one end. A removable device(s) is attached or secured to the broom handle at a desired height and provide an easier profile to grip and/or extra surface area to exert downward force. A removable device is attached or secured to the end of the broom handle to provide an increased surface area to exert downward force on the broom handle.
Portable curling-broom
A portable curling-broom includes a handle having a first-end, a second-end, and an inner-volume. The handle includes a curling-broom head, and a first-section and a second-section being removably coupled. The portable curling-broom is useful for providing a curling-broom that may easily be transported when folded. A kit may be included.
Apparatus for connecting shaft portions of sports equipment
The present invention provides an apparatus for connecting shaft portions of sports equipment comprising a first shaft portion of sports equipment; a second shaft portion of sports equipment; a locking means for mounting the first and second shaft portions; the locking means comprising a locking ring, an extending member and a first receiver means; the extending member mounted to the second shaft portion; the first receiver means comprising a hollow portion adapted for receiving the first portion of the extending member; the first receiver means mounted to the first shaft portion; the locking ring rotatable mounted on the extending member; the extending member comprising a first portion which is removable mounted to the first receiver means; and the first portion adapted for restricting the rotational movement of the extending member inside the first shaft portion.
Method for delivering sports telemetry for a curling game
A method for delivering sports telemetry for a curling game provides players, coaches, and viewers with the detailed dynamics of a curling stone. The method is generalized to at least one computerized sports equipment in communication with at least one remote server. A sensing module of the sports equipment captures and sends an angular-motion measurement and a linear-motion measurement to the remote server. Further, a tracking module of the sports equipment sends a precise location reading to the remote server. The angular-motion measurement, the linear-motion measurement, and the precise location reading are compiled into a sports telemetry data. Subsequently, the sports telemetry data assess a plurality of summarization metrics which promotes game awareness and interest. Further, the sports telemetry data also generates at least one equipment motion animation of play-by-play breakdown of the game. Finally, an online view platform allows the general public to access the sports telemetry data.
