Embodiments of the present invention further discloses a crutch assembly including a pair of hiking poles arranged and interconnected in a substantially V-shaped formation, a plurality of fasteners, and an attachment. The crutch assembly is configured for partial weight bearing and allows a hiker with a mild injury to travel to a trail or a medical help facility. The traction splint provides the hiker with the ability to move themselves to an assistance point, and eliminates the risk of serious deterioration due to hazardous environmental conditions and prolonged pain, swelling, etc.
