Ski pole retention and storage apparatus

The preferred embodiment of an apparatus for ski pole retention and storage is provided. A proximal half of a cuboid bracket embodied in a U-shape is substantially connected, via a hinge, to a distal half of a cuboid bracket embodying the same characteristics. Both the proximal and distal halves are secured with a binding strap and ratchet located on the plane opposite the hinge. The preferred embodiment also comprises of elastic straps that bias the apparatus to an open position. A binding strap is substantially fixed to said proximal half and said binding ratchet is substantially fixed to said distal half. Both the proximal and distal halves of the cuboid bracket have interior surfaces to which high-density foam is substantially connected. The exterior surface of the proximal half of the cuboid bracket comprises a second mechanism by which it attaches the body of the apparatus to a rigid surface.

A ski carrier apparatus for manually carrying skis, the ski carrier apparatus includes a flexible bracket to hold skis together in the form of a “C” shaped channel including a planar base portion having a first end portion and an opposing second end portion, a first leg and a second leg that each extend in a same direction and parallel to one another, the first and second legs each terminate in a respective first and second hook sections. The ski carrier apparatus further includes a strap having a first strap end and a second strap end that are removably engageable to a cord, wherein the strap is looped around an upper torso of a user and the cord looped around a ski toe binding assembly to suspend the skis above the ground allowing the user to carry the skis via walking in a handsfree manner.

RECREATIONAL PACK

A recreational pack configured to hold a pair of skis or similar elongate recreational device on the back of a user. The pack includes a pouch configured to secure a portion of a pair of skis within the pouch. In this regard, the pouch includes an upper edge comprising a cinching mechanism that is configured to be opened and closed to permit access to an interior volume of the pouch, and a slit operatively disposed through a lower edge of the pouch and configured to receive a pair of skis or similar equipment within and through the slit. The pack secures the skis in a useful and efficient manner and advantageously may be folded and placed in a user’s pocket when not in use.

A novel security tether includes an intermediate flexible substrate, a first loop, and a second loop. The first loop is fixed to a first end of the intermediate flexible substrate and is switchable between a closed position and an open position. The first loop further includes a lock to retain the first loop in the closed position when engaged. The second loop is a fixed, closed loop that is coupled to a second end of the intermediate flexible substrate and is configured to allow the first loop to pass therethrough to create a secondary loop to encircle an anchor object. The first loop can be closed around an object to be secured, thereby securing the object to be secured to the anchor object when the lock is engaged. The security tether is conveniently portable and particularly useful for securing skis to an anchor object.
