Board game with dynamic characteristic tracking

A board game comprises one or more game objects such as a game board and game pieces, at least one memory device and at least one controller. Each of the game objects comprise a globally unique identifier and dynamic characteristic values associated with the unique identifier, stored in the memory device, that define the characteristics/attributes of the corresponding game object when used in the game. A user is able to play the game by utilizing the game objects according to their characteristic values. During the course of game play, the events of the game are able to dynamically change the characteristic values of each game object affected by the event. Similarly, outside of game play, external events are also able to dynamically change the characteristic values of a game object. These characteristic values are able to be kept and updated during and in between games.

Multi-dimensional game comprising interactive physical and virtual components

An multi-dimensional game comprises a physical component including a game board and game pieces and a virtual component including a virtual environment displayed on a display device. A user is able to play the game by interacting with the virtual or physical component, wherein in order to complete tasks in the game the user must transition between interacting with the virtual component and the physical component. The physical component comprises game blocks, which are able to couple to each other and form objects that are then represented in the virtual component.

SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING AND TRACKING OBJECTS ON A GAME BOARD
20220258036 · 2022-08-18 ·

The finding and object of the invention relates to board games and parlour games characterized by the support of electronic components, such as a PC, tablet, smartphone or game console. More precisely, the invention consists of an economical and easy to construct system, able to identify and track the movements of objects, preferably but not necessarily pawns, on an interactive game board configurable by the user. Said playable and movable objects are tracked by means of a coordinated system of low-cost sensors and a method for the progressive storage of the positions assumed by the same objects as a result of voluntary user interactions. This result is achieved by means of: •A sensorized board (flexible or foldable) equipped with a series of magnetic sensors positioned according to a regular grid arrangement; •An electronic control board, connected to said sensorized board, adapted to the acquisition of data and the communication of the acquired information to a third system (PC, tablet, is smartphone, console) via interface (wired or radio); •An identification system, preferably but not exclusively of the RFID type consisting of reader chip and single antenna, integrated in the control board; •A series of modular tiles, of different shapes, which reproduce different environments, usable to create different game scenarios; •A series of profiled elements to keep the tiles integral with the interactive game board, once positioned above it; •A series of gaming elements, equipped with magnets and identification code (for example RFID TAG).

Apparatuses and methods for intelligent game systems for putting intelligence into board and tabletop games including miniatures are disclosed. An intelligent game system comprises one or more sensors, a controller, and a projector, the sensors each having an identifer. The sensors obtain object information from intelligent game piece objects and transfer the object information to a controller where it is associated with a sensor identifier and the sensor identifier is associated with a corresponding portion of an image. The controller interacts with the intelligent game piece objects, for managing game play, and for preparing and transferring a changing image to a projector. Intelligent game piece object features are disclosed, as well as methods of initializing a system for use with the intelligent game piece objects.

MODULAR EXPANSION SYSTEM FOR BOARD GAMES WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROL
20200222793 · 2020-07-16 ·

The present invention aims at making a modular expansion system for hybrid or table games with electronic control, allowing to extend the traceability and extend the interaction area outside an original sensorized surface and especially outside the investigation area of a contactless identification system associated with the main board of the gaming system. This allows the user to enlarge the gaming surface outside the interactive surface of the original system and to obtain an interactive gaming surface which reproduces, for example the environment layout, enabling to interact in a more realistic way with the virtual gaming events and environments. According to the proposed solution, any gaming board, equipped with an original magnetic tracking system for tracking position and a identifying system (for example contactless or RFID type) for the identification of the playable elements and accompanied by physical interaction elements and a system communicating with a gaming apparatus (PC, tablet, console) where a software or an interacting video game is running, is expanded/extended by means of a series of additional elements, able to connect to each other and to said gaming board, said elements being provided with an extremely economical and reliable position tracing system based only on magnetic sensors and an appropriate tracing method.

Magnetic identification of an object

The present disclosure relates to materials, devices, systems, and processes for magnetic identification of an object. Embodiments may include receiving from a plurality of sensors arranged within a layer of material an indication of a strength or signature of a magnetic field proximate to the corresponding sensor. The magnetic field may be created by the arrangement of one or more magnets proximate to a surface of the object where the surface is proximate to the plurality of sensors. Embodiments may include determining, based upon the indication of the strength or signature of the magnetic field proximate to the corresponding sensor, an arrangement of magnets proximate to the surface of the object. Based on the determined arrangement of the magnets on the surface of the object, the process may include identifying the object or the surface of the object. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
