Provided are a game system, a game toy, and a program enabling a player to play the game easily. The game system is a game system implementing a match game played by players. The game system includes, for each of the players: a game toy, and an information communication terminal. The match game progresses through communications between the information communication terminals of the players. The game toy includes: a game item provided with game element information, a play field on which the game item is able to be arranged, and an acquisition item that is configured to be capable of acquiring the game element information provided to the game item, and transmits the acquired game element information to the information communication terminal. The information communication terminal includes: a reception unit that receives an action instruction related to the match game, for the game item arranged on the play field related to a corresponding one of the players, a resolving unit that resolves an action based on the action instruction received by the reception unit, and a notification unit that issues a notification of an operation instruction for the game item arranged on the play field based on a result of the resolution by the resolving unit.

Systems including automatic card handling apparatuses and related methods

An automatic card handling device, automatic card handling devices within a network, and methods of use are disclosed. An automatic card handling device includes a shuffling apparatus with a controller and configured to deliver a set of shuffled cards, and a communication module operably coupled to the controller. The communication module is configured for establishing an electronic communication with a local or world-wide network and thereafter sending and receiving information related to the operation of the automatic card handling device across the network. A network of automatic card handling devices may include a plurality of automatic card shufflers. The network may also include at least one server operably coupled to the plurality of automatic card shufflers. In addition, the server may be operably coupled to a service center through a world-wide network.

Remotely serviceable card-handling devices and related systems and methods

An automatic card-handling device, having a card-handling device that includes a controller, the card-handling device configured for shuffling an input set of cards and delivering an output set of cards resulting from the shuffling; and a communication module operably coupled to the controller, wherein the communication module is configured for sending and receiving information related to operation of the card-handling device across a communication port configured for operable coupling to a cellular network, wherein the information related to the operation of the automatic card-handling device includes information about the use of the card-handling device; and wherein a factor in a usage fee for the card-handling device is use of the card-handling device.

An identification apparatus includes: a sensor face in which a plurality of sensor electrodes and a ground portion are provided on one and the same plane; wherein: a conductive portion or conductive portions formed in an identification object are configured so that when the identification object is placed on the sensor face, the conductive portion or the conductive portions can electrically connect a corresponding one or corresponding ones of the sensor electrodes with the ground portion; and a change of electrostatic capacitance occurring when the corresponding sensor electrode or electrodes are electrically connected with the ground portion is detected so that an ID of the identification object can be identified. Thus, it is possible to provide an identification apparatus which can be manufactured inexpensively without using expensive devices such as RFIDs and which is improved in terms of the degree of freedom for design.
