Pre-license development tool

Methods, computer-readable media, software, and apparatuses provide a tool for use by drivers and/or coaches throughout the pre-license stage of obtaining a driver's license. A pre-license program may control a computing device to collect drive data while a driver is driving a vehicle. This drive data may be used to detect a drive event. Then, the computing device may present coaching information associated with the detected drive event. The coaching information may provide a passenger, such as a coach or parent, with real-time advice for instructing the driver how to improve his/her driving skills. Moreover, the drive data collected may be used to prepare reports providing feedback to the drivers and coaches. Further, the pre-license program may determine an expected track for a driver to follow to prepare for a driver's license test and may indicate whether the driver is on or off the track.

Configurable devices

A smart block can include a plurality of displays and configurable magnet components to selectively attract or repel other smart blocks. The smart block can include proximity sensors to identify a surface of another smart block close to the smart block to determine if the smart blocks are correctly oriented based on an application or game associated with the operation of the smart blocks. A plurality of smart blocks can be configured to display a portion of a picture (as a puzzle), such that when the smart blocks are oriented correctly they collectively display the complete picture. The smart blocks can be used in conjunction with a smart mat that is configured to move the smart blocks in response to commands received from a remote computing device. The smart blocks and the smart mat can facilitate interactivity with other, remote users, such as between a caregiver and a child.

COLLABORATIVE IMAGE SYNTHESIS FROM THREE DIMENSIONAL CUBES

A method of gradually revealing an image using cube puzzles is provided. A first image is divided into a plurality of blocks. Each block can have one or more arbitrary colors. A second image is then generated from the first image where each block of the second image corresponds to one or more blocks of the first image. The blocks of the second image are unicolor blocks with colors that are selected from one of the six colors of a cube puzzle. Groups of adjacent blocks of the second image with the same number of rows and columns as the sides of the cube puzzles are assigned to participants to match to the color of the blocks on the sides of their cube puzzles. Once each participant matches the colors of an assigned region on a side of the corresponding cube puzzle, the matched region is reveled to all participants.

The portal device reacts to placement of tagged toys on zones and the color of the zones during play and provides sensor data to the game process. The game process controls the game state in part based on data from the portal device and in part on other user input.

The monitored puzzle pieces are rotatably connected to each other and to the monitoring puzzle piece to form the puzzle. The sensors, together with the processor or alternatively with an external client, track the monitored puzzle piece rotating relative to the monitoring puzzle piece. The external client may provide feedback to a user of the puzzle. The system enables the competitions between the user and users of other puzzles without requiring the physical proximity of the competitors.

The movable receiving component can be a mechanized tray, can display card(s) to player(s) seated away from the table during game play, and can receive cards at a first position, move to a second position where cards are removed, and move to a third position where cards are displayed at a position elevated from and at a substantially non-parallel angle to the table surface. Additional system components can include an automated card return component that returns cards to another location for a future game, a robotic dealer, an automated card shuffler, a card shoe, and/or the table itself.

A toy construction system comprising a set of toy construction elements with coupling means for releasably interconnecting the toy construction elements; and a data processing system comprising image capturing means, processing means, and display means, wherein the data processing system is adapted to capture an image of a partial toy construction model constructed from a subset of the toy construction elements; process the captured image to detect at least a position and an orientation of the partial toy construction model; identify a user selection indicative of a user selection of at least one of a set of subsequent construction elements, each subsequent construction element being connectable to the partial toy construction model; responsive to the detected position and orientation of the partial toy construction model, display on said display means a composite image comprising the captured image having superimposed an image of at least the selected subsequent construction element.
