A toy having a theme comprises a puzzle including first pieces, second pieces and a frame support. The first pieces are configured to be assembled into a three-dimensional structure. A construction support device is disclosed for support and assembly of planar members into complex structures. A construction support device can comprise a first and second unit that are separable where each support unit comprises a plurality of sinuate grooves between a plurality of sections with sinuate edges. The sections are flexible about a center to increase the width of the sinuate grooves to receive greater thickness of planar members. The invention relates to a three-dimensional tile, of metal or plastic, having at least one face (1) with an octagonal socket (2) and another face (1) with an octagonal projection (3). Each tile is joined in this way with a similar tile, forming structures in space. The octagonal socket (2) has an inner embossed cord (7) miming along it to which a tooth (6) carried on the straight sections (4), which together with the corner sections (5) form the octagonal projection (3), attaches. A breakable shell defining an enclosure within which a toy is contained. The breakable shell has a plurality of plastic shell pieces able to self-retain together to define the enclosure. The shell, when dropped from a sufficient height on a solid surface will break apart by the shell pieces all disconnecting from each other thereby revealing the toy.
