A removable, reusable, pleated woven wire filter comprising: (a) a stainless steel perforated core having one-half-inch stainless steel round bar reinforcement rings welded to one-half-inch stainless steel round bar cross bars to create bar-ring junctures, and having 11-gauge stainless steel attachment clips welded to each end of the perforated core; (b) a three-layer stainless steel pleated woven wire filter media wrapped around the perforated core, the filter media having spaced apart pleats with external peaks, and an external filter media surface comprising the external peaks of the pleats; (c) a stainless steel flattened expanded metal shroud adjacent to and encircling the external peaks, and (d) a stainless steel top end cap base and a stainless steel bottom end cap base connected to the metal shroud, both cap bases sealed against top and bottom ends of the filter media with a stainless steel adhesive sealant rated at 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Filtering device, and filtering element for use in such a filtering device

A filtering device for fluids includes a filter housing (1) and a filter element (9) received in the filter housing. The filter element has an end cap (17) on at least one end. The end cap forms an enclosure for the corresponding end edge of the filtering material (23, 35) and is fixed on an element receiver (13) interacting with the bottom part (5) of the filter housing (1) to fix the position of the filter element (9) in its functional position. The element receiver forms a fluid path for the cleaned fluid exiting the hollow chamber (19) of the filter element (9). The element receiver (13) contains a valve arrangement (55) blocking the fluid path (35). A control device (79, 83) releasing the valve arrangement (55) in the functional position is on the end cap (17) of the filtering element (9). The end cap is fixed on the element receiver (13).

Liquid filtration filter cap

A filter cap includes a first end and a second end facing away from the first end. A first cylindrical projection projects from the first end of the filter cap and a second cylindrical projection projects from the second end. An annular recess is formed around the first cylindrical projection. The second cylindrical projection includes at least one peripheral groove for an O-ring and a plurality of radially inward extending ridges. A passageway extends through the first and second projections. The passageway has a first dimension in the first projection, a second dimension greater than the first dimension in the second projection near a distal end of the second projection, and a third dimension smaller than the second dimension within the second projection between the plurality of ridges.

Pleated filter element having an additional structure

A filter element has a pleated filter mat (3). The terminal axial ends (7, 8) of the mat are connected to end caps (9, 11). The mat has a main structural layer (15) having filtering properties and a first additional structural layer and a second additional structural layer (17,19). The surface area of each of the additional structural layers (17, 19) is smaller than the surface area of the main structural layer (15). The axial ends (12, 14) of one additional structural layer (17) is located at an axial distance from the axial ends (16, 18) of the other additional structural layer (19) on the filter mat (3).

Composite filter cartridge

Cartridge components are configured to trap the upper end of a concave housing portion to define an enclosure surrounding a filter element. A disclosed embodiment includes a concave metal housing portion and plastic cartridge components, but other materials may be employed. An upper end cap spans the open end of the housing portion and defines at least one fluid flow aperture. A retainer surrounds the housing portion and is secured to the first component, with engagement features on the housing portion trapped between the upper end cap and retainer. The upper end cap and retainer may be secured to each other by spin welding, threads, adhesive or other suitable means. The outside circumference of one or both of the upper end cap and retainer may be provided with lugs, threads, bosses or other features to interface with complimentary features on the head for securing the cartridge to a head.
