DRY GAS SCRUBBER
A dry gas scrubber is disclosed. The dry gas scrubber is for treatment of an effluent stream and comprises: a chamber having an inlet for receiving the effluent stream, a cooler coupled with the inlet and configured to cool the effluent stream, and a resin chamber downstream of the cooler and configured to receive the effluent stream for treatment. In this way, the cooler is interposed between the process tool and the resin chamber and operates to cool the effluent stream prior to its being delivered to the resin chamber. Cooling the effluent stream in this way helps to improve the performance of the resin, even when the effluent stream is at an elevated temperature.
ELECTROACTIVE SPECIES AND METHOD FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL GAS SEPARATION
An electroactive species includes a quinone core structure and at least one stabilizing group covalently bound thereto. The stabilizing group includes a cationic group, a hydrogen bond donor, or a combination thereof. The electroactive species has an oxidized state and at least one reduced state capable of bonding with a Lewis acid gas to form an anion adduct. Methods for separating a Lewis acid gas from a fluid mixture, electrochemical cells, and gas separation systems are also provided.
DRY GAS SCRUBBER
An apparatus for a dry gas scrubber includes: a cooling chamber defined by a housing having an inlet for receiving an effluent stream for treatment by the dry gas scrubber, an outlet for providing the effluent stream for treatment by the dry gas scrubber, and at least one cooling plate within the chamber, the cooling plate being thermally coupled with the housing and configured to deviate a direction of flow of the effluent stream when flowing from the inlet to the outlet. In this way, the cooling chamber is interposed between the process tool and the resin chamber of the dry gas scrubber and operates to cool the effluent stream prior to its being delivered to the resin chamber. Cooling the effluent stream in this way helps to improve the performance of the resin, even when the effluent stream is at an elevated temperature.
COLLECTING A GASEOUS POLLUTANT FROM AIR
An apparatus for collecting a gaseous pollutant from air may comprise multiple vertical panel-beds each containing a solid sorbent; a fan to pass the air through the multiple vertical panel-beds and over the solid sorbent; an outlet gate configured to release the solid sorbent from the multiple vertical panel-beds after the fan passes the air over the solid sorbent; a regeneration vessel configured to regenerate the released solid sorbent by recovering the gaseous pollutant from the released solid sorbent; and a conveyor configured to return the regenerated solid sorbent to the multiple vertical panel-beds.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR THE REVERSIBLE ADSORBTION OF CARBON DIOXIDE
An apparatus (10, 110, 210, 310) for the separation and recovery of CO.sub.2, from air, by a cyclic adsorption/desorption process using a loose particulate sorbent for gas adsorption. The apparatus has a plurality of adjacent, parallel, spaced-apart layers (24, 124, 224, 324), each having a stiff frame supporting a flexible, gas-permeable fabric enclosure for the sorbent. The gas inlet (14, 114, 214, 314) and outlet (18, 118, 216, 316) of the apparatus are on its axially opposite sides, and each layer (24, 124, 224, 324) extending axially within the apparatus. The recovered CO.sub.2 can be either supplied to an enclosed space, recycled to an enclosed space, from which the CO.sub.2 had been separated, or vented to the exterior of the latter enclosed space.
Method for Desorbing Carbon Dioxide from Polymeric Organic Anion Exchangers
The invention relates to a process for desorbing carbon dioxide from polymeric organic anion exchangers having primary and/or secondary amine groups, to which the carbon dioxide is bound in the form of carbamate, by means of heating through microwave radiation.
Composite Paper-Based Sorbents For CO2 Capture
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for manufacturing composite paper-based sorbents configured for durability, and high surface area exposure to air. Composite paper-based sorbents can comprise fibers (e.g. natural and/or synthetic fibers), anion exchange resins, and additives. Composite paper-based sorbents can be configured for durability when used in various forming processes, e.g., corrugation, and when used under a variety of conditions, for example, in high and low humidity environments.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING 225Ac
A method for producing 225.sup.A including: a method (X) for purifying a .sup.226Ra-containing solution, including an adsorption step of allowing a .sup.226Ra ion to adsorb onto a carrier having a function of selectively adsorbing a divalent cation by bringing a .sup.226Ra-containing solution into contact with the carrier under an alkaline condition, and an elution step of eluting the .sup.226Ra ion from the carrier under an acidic condition; a method for producing a .sup.226Ra target, including an electrodeposition liquid preparation step of preparing an electrodeposition liquid by using a purified .sup.226Ra-containing solution obtained by the method (X), and an electrodeposition step of electrodepositing a .sup.226Ra-containing substance on a substrate by using the electrodeposition liquid; and a step of irradiating a .sup.226Ra target produced by the method for producing a .sup.226Ra target with at least one selected from a charged particle, a photon, and a neutron by using an accelerator.
