Adapter for modular catalytic monoliths
Adapters, devices, and methods are provided that permit catalytic monolith modules to be used in catalytic converter systems designed for fixed bed catalysts using granular catalysts. The adapter provides air flow straightening upstream from the catalytic monoliths, mitigating non-uniform flow into the catalytic monoliths. The adapter is reusable, allowing simple replacement of spent catalytic monolith modules.
CATALYST FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY INHIBITING EMISSION OF AMMONIA AND NITROUS OXIDE
An object of the present invention is to increase the reduction performance of nitrogen oxides compared to existing three-way catalysts; simultaneously inhibit the emission of ammonia and nitrous oxide; simplify a process by means of a method of further doping an iridium-ruthenium catalyst into a commercial three-way catalyst; and expand the scope of application. The present invention provides a catalyst for simultaneously inhibiting the emission of ammonia and nitrous oxide by doping an iridium-ruthenium catalyst component into a three-way catalyst (TWC), a diesel oxidation catalyst, or a lean NOx trap supported on a honeycomb support.
HYDROCARBON RECLAMATOR
A hydrocarbon reclamator consists of a closed chamber having an exhaust inlet port, a hydrogen inlet port, and a hydrocarbon outlet port. A magnetic flux is generated at the base of the closed chamber and a rotor is suspended by the magnetic flux within the closed chamber. The rotor is formed as a Tesla turbine having axially spaced discs concentrically mounted on a central shaft, a catalyst is formed on surfaces of the discs, and flow holes are formed through the discs. Venturi forces direct gas to release kinetic energy against the discs, so that hydrogen entering the chamber combines with carbon entering the chamber to form a hydrocarbon that exits the chamber via the hydrocarbon outlet port.
HIGHLY CHLORINE- AND WATER-RESISTANT CATALYST, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND USE THEREOF
A preparation method for a highly chlorine- and water-resistant catalyst is provided. A mixture of at least one of SnO.sub.2, GeO.sub.2, and MoO.sub.2 with CeO.sub.2 is used as a catalyst support, face-centered cubic ruthenium oxide is used as an active component, and the catalyst with excellent chlorine- and water-resistance is prepared through selective adsorption regulation, which can realize safe and efficient purification of chlorine-containing organic waste gas at temperatures below 250° C.
Moisture-resistant catalyst for air pollution remediation and method of making the same
The moisture-resistant catalyst for air pollution remediation is a catalyst with moisture-resistant properties, and which is used for removing nitrogen compound pollutants, such as ammonia (NH.sub.3), from air. The moisture-resistant catalyst for air pollution remediation includes at least one metal oxide catalyst, at least one inorganic oxide support for supporting the at least one metal oxide catalyst, and a porous framework for immobilizing the at least one metal oxide catalyst and the at least one inorganic oxide support, where the porous framework is moisture-resistant. As non-limiting examples, the at least one metal oxide catalyst may be supported on the at least one inorganic oxide support by precipitation, impregnation, dry milling, ion-exchange or combinations thereof. The at least one metal oxide catalyst supported on the at least one inorganic oxide support may be physically embedded in the porous framework.
Catalyst for automotive emissions control
An automotive catalytic converter includes a three-way catalyst having Rh as the only precious metal configured as a front zone and a three-way catalyst having a mixture of Rh and Pd, Pt, or both configured as a rear zone, such that an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine passes through the front zone before passing through the rear zone to minimize sulfur poisoning of the catalytic converter.
HEAT-RESISTANT RUTHENIUM COMPOSITE AND USE THEREOF AS CATALYST FOR NOX STORAGE AND REDUCTION
Disclosed is a heat-resistant ruthenium composite and, more particularly, to a heat-resistant ruthenium composite, a catalyst using same, and an exhaust system, the heat-resistant ruthenium composite being composed of a matrix including a plurality of cores therein, wherein ruthenium is present in a metal state in the core and a Ru complex oxide including Ru perovskite (PV) is contained in the matrix.
Passive NO.SUB.x .adsorber
A passive NO.sub.x adsorber is disclosed. The passive NO.sub.x adsorber is effective to adsorb NO.sub.x at or below a low temperature and release the adsorbed NO.sub.x at temperatures above the low temperature. The passive NO.sub.x adsorber comprises a noble metal and a molecular sieve having an LTL Framework Type. The invention also includes an exhaust system comprising the passive NO.sub.x adsorber, and a method for treating exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine utilizing the passive NO.sub.x adsorber.
CATALYST AND CATALYTIC OXIDATION-DEOXIDATION METHOD FOR UNSATURATED HYDROCARBON-CONTAINING GAS
A catalyst for catalytic oxidation-deoxidation method of unsaturated hydrocarbon-containing gas has a carrier, an active component, a first co-agent component, and a second co-agent component loaded on the carrier respectively. The active component is one or more selected from the group consisting of oxides of Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh, Ag and Ir. The first co-agent component has one or more selected from the group consisting of a rare earth metal element, a group IVB metal element and a group VIII metal element; and the second co-agent component has one or more alkali metal element and alkaline earth metal element. The deoxidation method using the catalyst eliminates the need to add a reducing gas such as H.sub.2, allows hydrocarbons to react directly with oxygen to produce CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2O, achieves the goal of deoxidating a hydrocarbon-containing tail gas, and can prevent the generation of carbon deposits.
