The chamber for transplantation includes one or more membranes for immunoisolation at a boundary between an inside and an outside of the chamber for transplantation, in which all of the membranes for immunoisolation include a porous membrane containing a polymer, and a joint portion at which the porous membranes are directly fusion welded to each other is provided. The method for manufacturing a chamber for transplantation includes preparing one or more porous membranes containing a polymer selected from polysulfone and polyethersulfone, bringing one part of the porous membrane into direct contact with another part of the porous membrane, and performing a heat fusion welding of the two parts that are in direct contact with each other at a temperature which is a glass transition temperature of the polymer or higher and lower than a melting point of the polymer.
Cross-linked nanofiltration membranes
The invention relates to the use of an uncoated cross-linked non-pyrolysed selective vinyl based halopolymer-membrane with a mwco of between 100 and 1000 Da, in the filtration of compounds from liquids comprising organic solvents and/or from liquids with a pH below 2 or above 12.
Method for separation and purification of n-acetylglucosamine
The disclosure relates to a method for separation and purification of N-acetyl-glucosamine, and belongs to the technical field of biological engineering. In the disclosure, a raw material solution containing N-acetyl-glucosamine is obtained by microbial fermentation or by hydrolyzing the chitin. The raw material solution is subjected to flocculation pretreatment, and continuous centrifugation or pressure filtration is performed to remove suspended solids such as microorganisms, proteins and polysaccharides to obtain clear liquid. Double-stage ion exchange chromatography is performed to remove impurities such as charged organic molecules and inorganic salts. Membrane concentration is performed to efficiently remove water to improve the concentration of the target product. Spray drying or further evaporation concentration and crystallization are performed. Finally drying is performed to obtain an N-acetyl-glucosamine crystal of which the purity is more than 99%.
Porous membranes
The present invention relates to a porous membrane, process for the manufacture thereof and uses thereof.
Methods to Enhance Separation Performance of Metal-Organic Framework Membranes
A method produces a metal-organic framework on a surface of another metal-organic framework. One embodiment comprises contacting the first metal-organic framework with a ligand and solvent solution; wherein the first metal-organic framework comprises a first ligand and a first metal; wherein the ligand and solvent solution comprises a second ligand that is different from the first ligand in the first metal-organic framework; and allowing the second ligand from the ligand and solvent solution to exchange with the first ligand present in the first metal-organic framework for a period of time suitable to produce the second metal-organic framework on the surface of the first metal-organic framework.
