Sand control screen assemblies and associated methods of manufacturing
A sand control screen assembly includes a base pipe having openings through its thickness, and a mesh layer having mesh material sections coupled to safe edges, or connectors, for connecting sections together. The safe edges include areas of thinning to provide flex joints that yield when exposed to high stresses. The mesh layer may be a drainage layer or a filter medium of the sand control screen assembly.
Household wastewater filter
A filter assembly and method of filtering wastewater from a washing machine. The filter has a framework for supporting a first filter stage and a second filter stage, a connection on a top of the filter assembly for connecting to a wastewater stream, a diffuser positioned to extend into the first filter stage and configured to rotate about a vertical axis of installation within the first filter stage, and a second filter stage below the first filter stage and configured to receive overflow from the first filter stage. The filter assembly does not include a motor or motorized parts and wherein the diffuser is rotatable by way of the force of the wastewater stream fed into the first filter stage to diffuse the wastewater stream and to spray the wastewater onto and through the filter media allowing the filter media to catch debris within the first filter stage.

A filter unit for filtering liquid includes a housing with an inlet and an outlet, a first filter and a second filter disposed in the housing, and a liquid flow path extending from the inlet to the outlet. The liquid flow path directs the liquid one of radially inward and radially outward through a first filter media of the first filter and the other one of radially and directs the liquid the other one of radially inward and radially outward through a second filter media of the second filter. A method of filtering a liquid within a filter unit includes passing the liquid one of radially inward and radially outward through a first filter media of a first filter and passing the liquid the other one of radially inward and radially outward through a second filter media of a second filter.
LIQUID FILTER UNIT WITH LATERALLY ARRANGED FILTERS, AND METHOD OF OPERATING THEREOF
A filter unit includes a housing, a first filter and a second filter disposed in the housing, and a liquid flow path that extends through the first and second filters in series. The first filter includes a first axial end affixed to the housing and a first filter media. The second filter includes a first axial end affixed to the housing at the outlet and a second filter media. The liquid directed radially outward through the first filter media and radially inward through the second filter media. A method of filtering a liquid within a filter unit includes passing the liquid radially outward through a first filter media of a first filter, directing the liquid from the first filter to a second filter, and passing the liquid radially inward through a second filter element of the second filter.
Apparatus for filtering liquids
The present invention relates to a filtering apparatus (1) for the filtration of liquids, in particular water. It comprises, inside a container (11), a first chamber (50) intended to receive liquid to be filtered, a second chamber (54) intended to receive filtered liquid, a first porous wall (51) and a second porous wall (53) which delimit a filtration chamber (40) between them. The first porous wall (51) divides the first chamber (50) from the filtration chamber (40) and the second porous wall (53) divides the second chamber (54) from the filtration chamber (40), so that the filtration chamber (40) is interposed between the first chamber (50) and the second chamber (54). A granular filter material (4) is housed in the filtration chamber (40) and is enclosed between the first porous wall (51) and the second porous wall (53). The first chamber (50) receives the liquid to be filtered at a first height (H1) which is at a higher altitude than the second height (H2) at which the second chamber (54) discharges the filtered liquid. The first chamber (50), the filtration chamber (40) and the second chamber (54) are flanked to each other and, in a section between the first height (H1) and the second height (H2), are all intersected by a plurality of horizontal planes (P) parallel to each other. In use, the liquid to be filtered passes from the first chamber (50) to the second chamber (54) substantially by gravity and through the filtration chamber (40) with a flow path having a horizontal component.

Enclosed media fluid filtration device
A filtration device comprising a media basket, a baseplate, and a canister. The media basket is affixed to the baseplate. The canister has a cavity therein and is detachably coupled with the baseplate to enclose the media basket. The media basket contains a porous filtration material that efficiently removes contaminants from liquid. The device is configured to establish a first siphon to convey liquid from outside the device into the canister cavity through a canister pipe when a liquid level outside the filtration device is higher than the top of the weir in the canister pipe and configured to establish a second siphon to convey liquid from canister cavity through the top of a center riser pipe and out an outlet pipe when the first siphon has been established and the liquid level outside the filtration device is higher than the top of the center riser pipe.

QUICK CHANGE OIL FILTER
A quick change oil filter includes a filter canister and filter base that may be installed and removed manually from an engine adapter on an internal combustion engine. The filter canister and filter base may hold at least about one third of the required engine oil supply when removed from the engine adapter. The engine adapter includes an oil inlet passage, an oil outlet passage, and a filter base mounting cavity. A check valve is biased to close an oil outlet opening from the filter canister, trapping oil inside the filter canister when it is removed from the engine adapter.
Filtering Pump System
In certain embodiments, a system filter has a hollow, perforated, inner structure inside a hollow, perforated, outer structure that define an annular gap that receives granular filtering media retained by an (optional) media liner. An outer filter surrounds the outer structure. An (electric) pump may be located within the inner cavity of the inner structure or external to the system filter. When deployed in an underground vault, vault water flows through the outer filter, the outer structure, the outer portion of the media liner (if present), the filtering media, the inner portion of the media liner (if present), and the inner structure into the inner cavity from where the pump moves the filtered water out of the vault. The outer filter and/or the media liner may have a lipophobic, hydrophilic material that allows water to pass while blocking lipids without having the lipids adhere to the material.
