Lightweight fibrous media (LFM) filter
11583788 · 2023-02-21 ·

A filtration system using lightweight fibrous media (LFM) that are pre-compressed either 1) manually; or 2) in-situ using hydraulic flow; and where the LFM are forced to separate and relax for cleaning either: 1) manually, 2) in-situ in their filter housing, or 3) in an auto-clean system using separate devices in order to enact a particularly aggressive cleaning process. A plurality of lightweight fibrous media balls are pre-compressed and used to form a single mass that can filter water as the media are compressed by pre-compression before installation, or by water flow pushing on a pre-compression plate during filtration thereby forming a single mass providing multitudes of tortuous paths through which water can flow and the media can capture small particulate matter.

VESSEL SCREEN RETAINING SYSTEM AND METHOD

Certain embodiments include a screen assembly of a vessel, where the screen assembly includes a plurality of fixed elements and a retainer, and the retainer includes a ring, a plurality of wedges disposed about the ring, and a plurality of keyholes at spaced locations about the ring. Each keyhole includes a bore and a slot extending from the bore into an adjacent wedge of the plurality of wedges, the slots have a width less than the bores, and the retainer may receive the fixed elements through the bores and may be rotated in a relation with the plurality of fixed elements to bring the plurality of fixed elements into simultaneous engagement with the wedges.

A water filtration device comprising a drum housing a removable canister containing a replaceable water filter media. A pair of lifting handle/media stops, connected to the removable canister, pivotally secure the replaceable water filter media, enabling a user to lift the removable canister from the drum and remove the replaceable water filter media. The drum is located along and connected to a water circulating line comprising a water supply line and a water discharge line. Unfiltered water is circulated into the water filtration device, creating the filtered water circulating into the water discharge line to the decorative water feature thereby re-circulating the unfiltered water from the water filtration device as filtered water back through a decorative water feature to a water feature terminus. As unfiltered water is pumped from the water feature terminus, it again passes through the replaceable water filter media.

The disclosed invention pertains to a novel device and method for effectively emptying water treatment vessels. This innovation may provide a sturdy, aluminum-framed apparatus featuring a cradle and adjustable legs. The water treatment vessel may be securely fastened onto the cradle after the frame is first adjusted to a suitable height using the device's adjustable legs. A water hose may be attached to the device's fitting, directing water into the vessel for rinsing filter media or resin. The inverted vessel's contents may flow onto a washout tray for collection. This innovative device may enhance stability, ease of use, and safety, making it ideal for emptying water treatment tanks or vessels of varying shapes and sizes.

TILTABLE FILTER CANISTER

A tiltable filter canister including a housing and a lid adjacent to each other. The lid encloses the housing to form an interior of the tiltable filter canister. A seal may be disposed between the housing and the lid for forming a vacuum tight seal. A handle is connected to the lid, the handle having a first position and a second position. When the handle is in the first position, the seal may form the vacuum tight seal. A pin connects the handle to the lid and allows the handle to rotate between the first position and the second position. An arcuate surface may be present on the handle with a first protrusion for receiving a stop and a second protrusion. A first canister position of the tiltable filter canister is configured for performing a filtering operation and a second canister position of the tiltable filter canister is configured for performing a maintenance operation. A filtration media may be disposed within the interior of the tiltable filter canister for filtering a fluid during the filtering operation.
