Gas recovery from wastewater
The present invention is in the field of a system for gas recovery from wastewater, a method for treating wastewater, and a method wherein ammonia and carbon dioxide are recovered. Typically a wastewater stream is fed into the system, treated and stripped from ammonia and carbon dioxide, and a cleaner stream is released.
Curable Compositions and Membranes
A curable composition comprising the components (i) 0 to 60 wt % non-ionic crosslinker(s); (ii) 20 to 85 wt % curable ionic compound(s) comprising an anionic group and at least one ethylenically unsaturated group; (iii) 15 to 45 wt % solvent(s); (iv) 0 to 10 wt % of photoinitiator(s); and (v) 2 to 45 wt % of structure modifier(s); wherein the molar ratio of component (v):(ii) is 0.25 to 0.65. The compositions are useful for preparing membranes for (reverse) electrodialysis.
POLYCRYSTALLINE METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORK MEMBRANES FOR SEPARATION OF MIXTURES
Disclosed herein is a polycrystalline metal-organic framework membrane comprising a substrate material having a surface and a polycrystalline metal-organic framework attached to the surface of the substrate material, wherein the polycrystalline metal-organic framework is formed from a secondary building unit having the formula Ia or IIb and a ligand as defined in the application.
Passive heat and mass transfer system
A heat and mass transfer system configured to be a passive system using gravitational force to form a thin liquid film flow on an outer surface of a flow distribution head and downstream conduit member to subject the thin liquid film to heat transfer mediums. The at least partially spherical flow distribution head creates a uniform thin flow of liquid on the outer surface increasing the efficiency of the heat and mass transfer system. The heat and mass transfer system may include a heat transfer medium supply system in fluid communication with internal aspects of the downstream conduit such that a heat transfer medium flows within the downstream conduit while the liquid film flows on the outer surface of the downstream conduit. Rather than conventional sheet flow on inner surfaces of a conduit, the flow distribution head enables sheet flow to be formed on an outside surface of a component.
THIN WALL POLYETHER BLOCK AMIDE MEMBRANE TUBING AND MODULE
Composite polyether block amide (PEBA) copolymer tubes incorporate an ultra-thin PEBA layer that enables rapid moisture transfer and exchange through the tube. A composite PEBA film may include a porous scaffold support and may be formed or incorporated into the composite PEBA tube. A porous scaffold support may be coated or imbibed with PEBA to form a composite PEBA film. A composite PEBA film may be wrapped on a mandrel or over a porous scaffold support to form a composite PEBA tube. A film layer may be applied over a wrapped composite PEBA film to secure the layers together. The film layer by applied by dipping, spraying or painting.
