MULTIPHASE DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR HEATING, CONDENSING, MIXING, DEAERATING AND PUMPING
An energy saving deaerator device includes: a first incoming flow path that generally follows a central axis of the device from a conically shaped inlet having converging sidewalls, to an expansion chamber having diverging sidewalls, to a compression chamber having converging sidewalls, to an outlet, a first entry port of the compression chamber being defined by an outlet of the expansion chamber; a second incoming flow path having sidewalls that converge to form a ring shaped second entry port of the compression chamber, the ring shaped second entry port being disposed around and concentric with the first entry port; and, wherein the first and second incoming flow paths converge at the compression chamber, with both flow paths being directed toward the outlet, to form an outgoing flow path.
Process for mixing wellbore fluids
A system for mixing drilling fluids that includes a fluid supply tank for supplying an unmixed drilling fluid, a mixing reactor fluidly connected to the fluid supply tank, the mixing reactor including an intake and an outlet; a mixing chamber disposed between the intake and the outlet, an inlet for injecting a compressible driving fluid into the mixing chamber and an inlet for injecting an aerating gas into the mixing chamber is disclosed.
Apparatus and method for utilizing thermal energy
An apparatus is provided having a heat generation device such as a boiler. A hypersonic energy harvester is provided having a first input and a second input. The first input and the second input are fluidly coupled to the heat generation device. A variable speed pump is fluidly coupled to supply liquid from the heat generation device to the hypersonic energy harvester. A deaerator is fluidly coupled to receive condensate from the hypersonic energy harvester.
MIXTURE ENTRAINMENT DEVICE
An example injector includes a first conduit defining a first flow path including a first choke for a first fluid and a second conduit defining a second flow path including a second choke for a second fluid. The second choke is defined by a converging region upstream and a diverging region downstream of the second choke. The example injector further includes a mixing region after both the diverging region of the second flow path and the first choke and configured to receive the first fluid the second fluid, and an outlet configured to allow the first fluid and the second fluid to exit the mixing region. The first and second chokes are configured to allow a constant mass flow of the first and second fluids, respectively, to flow into the mixing region independent of a pressure at the outlet.
Fluid treatment apparatus and process
Liquid treatment apparatus comprises at least two chambers being first and second chambers through which a fluid can flow. The two chambers are separated by at least one choke nozzle which has an entrance in the first chamber and an exit in the second chamber. The choke nozzle comprises a converging section at its entrance, a throat section, a backward-facing step immediately after the throat section, and an exit section at its exit wherein the exit section diverges from the step. Similarly constructed mixing nozzles may be included in the apparatus. The apparatus is especially useful in processes requiring a gas to be entrained in a fluid so that the gas is in the form of very small bubbles that do not tend to coalesce and flash off such as in the dissolution of gold and other precious metals from ore and in the removal of arsenic from an ore.
Method and system for on-line blending of foaming agent with foam modifier for addition to cementitious slurries
Disclosed is a method and system for blending a foam modifier with foaming agent on-line, e.g., as may be particularly useful for gypsum or cement slurries. The foam modifier comprises a fatty alcohol that is added to a gypsum or cement slurry that includes foaming agent, such as an alkyl sulfate surfactant. The fatty alcohol can be a C.sub.6-C.sub.16 fatty alcohol in some embodiments. The use of such a foam modifier can be used, for example, to stabilize the foam, reduce waste of foaming agent, improve void size control in the final product, and improve the gypsum board manufacturing process.
