UV DISINFECTANT SYSTEM
A UV disinfectant system may include a chamber having a wall that is transparent to a disinfecting radiation. Liquid may be flowed through the chamber for treatment by exposure to the radiation. The chamber may include a static mixer having vanes to impede laminar flow of the liquid during treatment. The vanes extend into the flow path of the liquid through the chamber. A gap is defined between the vanes and the transparent wall. A cabinet may house the chamber and radiation emitting bulbs. Blowers may be operably coupled to a temperature sensor and flow meter and positioned at a lower end and upper end of the cabinet to urge air out of the cabinet. The temperature sensor may include a thermocouple. The blowers may be variable speed blowers. The system may include a controller to control system operations. The controller may be remotely accessible to monitor or control operations.
Static mixer with a triangular mixing conduit
A static mixer 10 for mixing a fluid flow having at least two components is disclosed, as well as a method for mixing first and second components with the static mixer 10. The static mixer 10 includes a mixing conduit 20 having a first inner surface 38a, a second inner surface 38b that extends from the first inner surface 38a, and a third inner surface 38c that extends from the first inner surface 38a to the second inner surface 38b. The first, second, and third inner surfaces 38a, 38b, 38c define a mixing passage receiving the fluid flow. The first and second inner surfaces 38a, 38b are offset by a first acute angle, the first and third surfaces 38a, 38c are offset by a second acute angle, and the second and third surfaces 38b, 38c are offset by a third acute angle. The static mixer 10 includes a mixing element 100 positioned in the mixing passage.
Countercurrent contacting devices and method of manufacture
The contacting device for countercurrent contacting of fluid streams and having a first pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades and a second pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades. The deflector blades in each one of the grids are interleaved with the deflector blades in the paired intersecting grid and may have uncut side portions that join them together along a transverse strip where the deflector blades cross each other or adjacent opposed ends of the deflector blades and cut side portions that extend from the uncut side portions to the ends of the deflector blades. At least some of the deflector blades have directional tabs and associated openings to allow portions of the fluid streams to pass through the deflector blades to facilitate mixing of the fluid streams.

The contacting device for countercurrent contacting of fluid streams and having a first pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades and a second pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades. After treatment system for a vehicle
An after treatment system (ATS) for a vehicle includes, fluidly connected in series, an inlet, a urea mixer and an outlet. The inlet is fluidly connected to an output of an engine of the vehicle and the outlet is fluidly connected to an outlet tube of the vehicle. The urea mixer is provided with a dosing module, an inner element and an outer element. The inner element is configured such that a first flow of exhaust gas flow flowing from the inlet into the urea mixer flows into an first volume defined by the inner element. The outer element is configured such that a second flow flows in a volume defined between inner element and outer element, wherein the first and second flows rejoin together in a mixing chamber fluidly connected to the volume and to the first volume downstream with respect inner and outer elements.
MULTI-COMPONENT FLUID MIXING DEVICE
A multi-component fluid mixing device for mixing two or more fluids which can be used with an applicator tool, such as a spray gun. The mixing device is used with a removable cartridge that is pressure fitted into the body of the mixing device using an actuation mechanism that elevates a cartridge engagement base to create a fluid-tight seal.
TURBULENCE MEMBER AND HEAT EXCHANGER USING SAME, AND WATER HEATER
A turbulence member is made of a flat plate member configured to be inserted into a heat-transfer tube having a substantially elliptical cross-sectional shape. The flat plate member is a generate turbulence in a fluid flowing inside the heat-transfer tube by a plurality of projected pieces projected on both front and back surfaces. A rotation preventing piece configured to prevent rotation of the flat plate member inside the heat-transfer tube is provided in at least one of both side edges along the flow passage direction in the flat plate member. The rotation preventing piece is provided at a predetermined angle to the flat plate member so that a forefront comes into contact with a tube wall inner circumferential surface of the heat-transfer tube. A space through which the fluid can circulate is formed between the rotation preventing piece and the tube wall inner circumferential surface.
Double wedge mixing baffle and associated static mixer and methods of mixing
A static mixer includes a series of mixing elements, at least some of which are a double wedge mixing baffle. The double wedge mixing baffle includes first and second dividing panels oriented transverse to each other, first and second deflecting surfaces projecting from opposite sides of the first dividing panel, and third and fourth deflecting surfaces projecting from opposite sides of the second dividing panel. One or each of the deflecting surfaces includes first and second planar surfaces arranged at different angles relative to the fluid flow. The double wedge arrangement reduces retained waste volume within the mixer while further manipulating the flow characteristics of fluid flow entering and exiting the mixing baffle, to thereby optimize mixing performance.
