IMPELLER INCLUDING ONE OR MORE TURBULATORS FOR A BIOREACTOR SYSTEM
An impeller, for example, a Rushton impeller for a bioreactor system is disclosed. The impeller includes a hub, optionaly including a slot, a plurality of blades, and one or more turbulators. The plurality of blades is disposed along a circumferential direction of the hub and spaced apart from each other. Each of the plurality of blades is coupled to at least a portion of a circumference and/or a top surface of the hub. Each blade of the plurality of blades includes a pressure face and a suction face. The one or more turbulators is disposed on at least a portion of the suction face, the pressure face, or both, of a blade of the plurality of blades.
ROTARY INTERFACE FOR FLUID ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED METHODS OF FABRICATION AND USE
The present disclosure provides advantageous rotary interfaces for fluid assemblies (e.g., rotary interfaces for fluid flow in bioreactor applications), and related methods of fabrication and use. More particularly, the present disclosure provides improved rotary interfaces for fluid flow through porous impellers for filtration and/or sparging for fluid assemblies (e.g., bioreactor applications), and related methods of fabrication and use. Disclosed herein is a fluid assembly (e.g., bioreactor) that includes a porous impeller which is in fluid communication with a hollow shaft that can be used to transport a reaction fluid to an external storage tank or the like. The fluid assembly/bioreactor can include a coupling mechanism that transmits rotary motion from a motor to a primary shaft and then to a hollow secondary shaft, while at the same time permitting removal of a filtrate from the fluid assembly or bioreactor via the hollow secondary shaft and a porous impeller.
Horizontal mixer with stacked augers
A horizontal mixer for mixing bulk material, such as agricultural material, is provided. The horizontal mixer includes a mixing container for accommodating bulk agricultural material to be mixed. The mixing container includes side walls connected at their bottom edges by a trough; a front wall spanning a front side of the container; a rear wall spanning a rear side of the container; and an exit door through which mixed agricultural material can exit. Further, one or more bottom augers situated longitudinally in the trough, wherein at least one of the one or more bottom augers is a ribbon auger; and one or more top augers situated longitudinally in the mixing container stacked above the one or more bottom ribbon augers. The trough has a shape to accommodate the one or more bottom ribbon augers.
Device for generating gas bubbles in suspensions for the enrichment of mineral and non-mineral raw materials and use of such a device
The invention relates to a device for generating gas bubbles in suspensions, which are contained in a tank, having a rotation-symmetric stator (16) and a rotation-symmetric rotor (15), which is connected to a hollow drive shaft (5), wherein the stator, the rotor and the hollow drive shaft are arranged concentrically about a vertical axis of rotation (17) of the rotor and the drive shaft, and the rotor executes a rotational movement about the axis of rotation inside the stator.
RAPIDLY COOLING FOOD AND DRINKS
Systems and methods have demonstrated the capability of rapidly cooling the contents of pods containing the ingredients for food and drinks.
Impeller including one or more turbulators, for a bioreactor system
An impeller, for example, a Rushton impeller for a bioreactor system is disclosed. The impeller includes a hub, optionally including a slot, a plurality of blades, and one or more turbulators.
Rapidly Cooling Food and Drinks
Systems and methods have demonstrated the capability of rapidly cooling the contents of pods containing the ingredients for food and drinks.
HARD COATING FILM, AND MEMBER COATED WITH SAND-ABRASION-RESISTANT HARD COATING FILM WHICH INCLUDES SAME
Provided is a hard coating film having excellent sand abrasion resistance. The present invention relates to a hard coating film (20) including a nitride containing Al and Cr as main components, the hard coating film (20) having a thickness of 6 μm or more.
Exhaust gas turbine and method of operating the same
An exhaust gas turbine (30) for expanding exhaust gas, comprising a turbine housing (33) having an inflow housing portion (35) for exhaust gas to be expanded and an outflow housing portion (36) for expanded exhaust gas, a turbine rotor (34) received by the turbine housing (33), the turbine rotor (34) being rotatable about an axis of rotation, a metering means (42) for a reducing agent or a precursor substance of a reducing agent, wherein the reducing agent or the precursor substance can be introduced into the expanded exhaust gas via the metering device (42), and with a swirl atomizer (43), rotating together with the turbine rotor (34), for the reducing agent or the precursor substance, the reducing agent or the precursor substance being atomizable in the expanded exhaust gas via the swirl atomizer (43), the swirl atomizer (43) engaging the turbine rotor (34) at a downstream, hub-side portion of the turbine rotor (34). Downstream of the turbine rotor (34) in extension of the axis of rotation of the turbine rotor (34), an impingement body (44) is arranged for the reducing agent or the precursor substance introduced into the exhaust gas and atomized, wherein a distance of the impingement body (44) from the swirl atomizer (43) corresponds to at most 7 times a diameter of the turbine rotor (34).
MIXING PADDLE
A mixing paddle for mixing dough and for cutting and mixing dense ingredients such as butter and shortening into dry ingredients such as flour has roughened cutting blades oriented at many angles. Some blades are attached between a central blade support shaft and a symmetrical rim. The blades may have roughed cutting edges to increase variety in fat chunk size and to improve mixing.
