Metal supported powder catalyst matrix and processes for multiphase chemical reactions
A catalytic membrane composite that includes porous supported catalyst particles durably enmeshed in a porous fibrillated polymer membrane is provided. The porous fibrillated polymer membrane may be manipulated to take the form of a tube, disc, or diced tape and used in multiphase reaction systems. The supported catalyst particles are composed of at least one finely divided metal catalyst dispersed on a porous support substrate. High catalytic activity is gained by the effective fine dispersion of the finely divided metal catalyst such that the metal catalyst covers the support substrate and/or is interspersed in the pores of the support substrate. In some embodiments, the catalytic membrane composite may be introduced to a stirred tank autoclave reactor system, a continuous flow reactor system, or a Parr Shaker reaction system and used to effect the catalytic reaction.

FUEL REFORMER
A fuel reformer for producing a steam reforming reaction between fuel and water on a reforming catalyst includes a fuel injection part that injects and supplies fuel into the reforming catalyst, and an injection control part that controls an injection amount of fuel by the fuel injection part. The injection control part controls the injection amount in order that a temperature of the reforming catalyst is not lower than a preset given temperature. The fuel reformer further includes a temperature obtaining part that measures or estimates the temperature of the reforming catalyst, and a target value calculation part that calculates a target value of the injection amount, such that the temperature of the reforming catalyst after fuel is injected by the fuel injection part is equal to or higher than the given temperature. The fuel injection part is controlled such that the injection amount coincides with the target value.
FUEL REFORMER
A fuel reformer for producing a steam reforming reaction between fuel and water on a reforming catalyst includes a fuel injection part that injects and supplies fuel into the reforming catalyst, a temperature measurement part that measures a temperature of the reforming catalyst, and a determination part that determines whether a process for recovering the reforming catalyst is necessary. The determination by the determination part is made based on a temperature change of the reforming catalyst when the steam reforming reaction is produced.

Provided is a method for producing an organic compound, the method making it possible to ensure an adequate reaction time and obtain a targeted substance at a high yield even in an organic reaction that requires a relatively long time to complete the reaction. A method for producing an organic compound, wherein the method is characterized in that: a fluid processing apparatus F used in the production method is equipped with an upstream processing unit that processes a fluid to be processed between at least two processing surfaces 1 and 2 that relatively rotate, and a downstream processing unit disposed downstream of the upstream processing unit, the downstream processing unit being provided with a plurality of labyrinth seals that function to retain and stir the fluid to be processed that has been processed by the upstream processing unit; due to the fluid to be processed, which contains at least one type of organic compound, being passed through the upstream processing unit, the fluid to be processed is subjected to upstream processing; due to the fluid to be processed that has been subjected to upstream processing being passed through the downstream processing unit, the fluid to be processed that has been subjected to upstream processing is subjected to downstream processing; and the upstream processing and the downstream processing are performed continuously.

CONTROLLED CONVERSION OF DIMETHYL BENZYL ALCOHOL TO CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE FORMED DURING THE CUMENE OXIDATION PROCESS
The disclosure concerns systems and methods for the production of phenol and acetone from cumene oxidation products. One method comprises reacting cumene and an oxidizing agent to produce a cumene oxidation product comprising cumene hydroperoxide and dimethyl benzyl alcohol, converting at least a portion of the dimethyl benzyl alcohol to cumene hydroperoxide by reacting the at least a portion of the dimethyl benzyl alcohol with hydrogen peroxide in both an organic phase and an aqueous to produce a converted cumene oxidation product, and cleaving the converted cumene oxidation product to produce an output product comprising one or more of phenol, acetone, and alpha-methylstyrene.
