NOVEL POROUS POLYMER MONOLITHS ADAPTED FOR SAMPLE PREPARATION
A porous polymer monolith comprises a polymer body having macroporous through-pores that facilitate fluid flow through the body and an array of mesopores adapted to bind from the fluid flow molecules of a predetermined range of sizes, wherein the surface area of the monolith is predominantly provided by the mesopores. Also disclosed is a method of making a porous polymer monolith. The method includes forming a polymer body by phase separation out of a solution containing at least a monomer, a crosslinker and a primary porogen, whereby the body contains multiple macroporous through-pores, wherein the solution further contains a secondary porogen comprising oligomers inert with respect to the monomer and cross-linker but chemically compatible with the monomer so as to form mesostructures within the polymer body during said phase separation, and washing the mesostructures from the body to provide an array of mesopores such that the surface area of the monolith is predominantly provided by the mesopores.

APPARATUS, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIRECT AIR CAPTURE UTILIZING ELECTROMAGNETIC EXCITATION RADIATION DESORPTION OF SOLID AMINE SORBENTS TO RELEASE CARBON DIOXIDE
The present invention is directed to a method, device and system to capture carbon dioxide in air using solid amine sorbents and using a radio frequency and/or microwave generator to desorb the carbon dioxide by directly exciting the amine-carbon bond thereby significantly reducing the energy cost of releasing the carbon dioxide.
BIOMAGNETIC MICROSPHERE AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE METHOD THEREFOR
A biomagnetic microsphere and a preparation method and a method for protein isolation and purification therefor. The outer surface of a magnetic microsphere body of the biomagnetic microsphere has at least one liner polymer with a branched chain; one end of the linear polymer with a branched chain is covalently coupled to the outer surface of the magnetic microsphere body, and other parts are free on the outer surface of the magnetic microsphere body; a backbone of the linear polymer is a polyolefin backbone, and no cross-linking agent is required in the backbone forming process of the linear polymer. The prepared biomagnetic microsphere can implement efficient elution of target proteins and effectively reduce the retention time and retention ratio of the target proteins, and it is easy to operate and widely used.
URANIUM CAPTURE ON INORGANIC-ORGANIC GRAPHITE-BASED HYBRID MATERIAL: ADSORBENT MATERIAL FOR MINING RECLAMATION AND DOMESTIC WATER USES
The present invention provides compositions for removal of arsenic or heavy metal contaminants in the process of fluid filtration comprising an organically modified inorganic adsorbent, wherein the composition is produced by reaction with 1,3-dipolar compounds prior to filtration. Also provided are systems for fluid filtration, comprising compositions as provided herein, in a column or column-like format, wherein a fluid is provided to the column such that the fluid flows through the organically modified inorganic adsorbent, and wherein contaminants present in the fluid are bound to the composition. Additionally provided are methods for fluid filtration, comprising contacting a fluid sample with the composition of claim 1 and collecting the filtered fluid sample after filtration.
