PROCESS FOR THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF AMMONIA AND REACTOR FOR CARRYING OUT THE PROCESS
The invention relates to a process for the thermal decomposition of ammonia. The process comprises passing ammonia through a conduit which contains an ammonia decomposition catalyst in a part thereof. At least a section of the part of the conduit which contains the catalyst is immersed in molten lead as heat transfer medium, which is at a temperature at which the catalyst is capable of catalyzing the decomposition of ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen. A reactor for carrying out this process is also disclosed.
Steam methane reformer hydrogen generation systems
A steam methane reformer (SMR) system includes an outer tube, wherein a first end of the outer tube is closed; an inner tube disposed in the outer tube, wherein a first end of the inner tube is open. A flow channel is defined within the inner tube and an annular space is defined between the outer tube and the inner tube, the flow channel being in fluid communication with the annular space. The SMR system includes a catalytic foam disposed in the annular space between the outer tube and the inner tube, the catalytic foam comprising a catalyst.
Radiant non-catalytic recuperative reformer
A radiant, non-catalytic recuperative reformer has a flue gas flow path for conducting hot exhaust gas from a thermal process and a reforming mixture flow path for conducting a reforming mixture. At least a portion of the reforming mixture flow path is positioned adjacent to the flue gas flow path to permit heat transfer from the hot exhaust gas to the reforming mixture. The reforming mixture flow path contains substantially no material commonly used as a catalyst for reforming hydrocarbon fuel (e.g., nickel oxide, platinum group elements or rhenium), but instead the reforming mixture is reformed into a higher calorific fuel via reactions due to the heat transfer and residence time. In a preferred embodiment, a portion of the reforming mixture flow path is positioned outside of flue gas flow path for a relatively large residence time.
Processing device and processing method
A processing device and processing method that can perform processing of a starting material fluid while favorably controlling the processing temperature of same. The processing device includes: a processing member that leads in the starting material fluid and processes same therewithin; and a processing tank that houses the processing member and retains the processed processing products. The processing member includes: a minute duct provided therewithin and causes the flow-through of the starting material fluid; and a heat medium duct that causes the flow-through of a heat medium having a different temperature from that of the starting material fluid flowing through the minute duct. The minute duct and the heat medium duct are separated from each other so that heat exchange is possible between the starting material fluid and heat medium flowing through.
Continuous flow carboxylation reaction
The present invention is related to a two-step carboxylation reaction of an aryl group using continuous flow reaction conditions. This process permits large scale synthesis of useful reaction products in high yield.
Hydrodearylation Reactor
A system and method including providing a feed having alkyl-bridged multi-aromatic compounds to a tubular reactor, heating the tubular reactor, and cleaving an alkyl bridge of the alkyl-bridged multi-aromatic compounds.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING NEW ALLOTROPIC MODIFICATION OF OXYGEN, TETRAOXYGEN O4, AND DEVICE FOR ITS PRODUCTION.
Disclosed herein is a method and device for production of a new long-term storage-stable allotropic modification of oxygen, tetraoxygen O.sub.4, using a combination of known chemical reactions into one technological sequence, including chemical interaction of negative and positive oxidation state oxygen compounds.
The method involves production of dioxygen difluoride by oxidation of molecular oxygen with fluorine, followed by the reaction of dioxygen difluoride with alkali metal peroxide, forming tetraoxygen O.sub.4.
Tetraoxygen is stable in its liquid state up to a temperature of +40° C. and can be used for the oxidation of rocket fuel, long-term compact storage of oxygen, and many other purposes.
Apparatus and continuous flow process for production of boronic acid derivative
A process for a continuous production of a boronic acid derivative and an apparatus of performing the process are disclosed.
Continuous flow process for preparing conducting polymers
The present disclosure relates to a continuous flow process for preparing conducting polymers, for example polyaniline. The continuous flow process can provide a controlled synthesis of a conducting polymer from an emulsion comprising a polymerizable organic monomer and a free radical initiator in flow within a temperature controlled continuous flow reactor comprising at least one mixing element. The present disclosure also relates to the conducting polymers prepared by the continuous flow process.
REACTION APPARATUS
A reaction apparatus comprising at least one tubular reaction unit (23), a container (41) configured to accommodate the tubular reaction unit (23) and a temperature control medium (51) used in heat exchange with the tubular reaction unit (23), and a nozzle (31) configured to eject the temperature control medium (51) toward the tubular reaction unit (23) in the container. The reaction apparatus further comprising a movable part (34) configured to adjust an ejection direction of the nozzle (31) is preferred. The reaction apparatus allows for effectively performing the temperature control even when the tubular reaction unit is immersed in a temperature control medium.
