System and method for seal flush
Techniques are provided for seal flush systems. A system may include a reactor circulation pump configured to circulate a slurry through a polymerization reactor. The slurry may include an olefin monomer, a catalyst, and a diluent. The system may also include a catalyst-inhibiting additive system configured to supply a catalyst-inhibiting additive to a seal of the reactor circulation pump and a seal flush system configured to generate a seal flush mixture and supply the seal flush mixture to the seal of the reactor circulation pump.
Detecting and correcting problems in liquid lifting in heat exchangers
A plant or refinery may include equipment such as reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, regenerators, separators, or the like. Types of heat exchangers include shell and tube, plate, plate and shell, plate fin, air cooled, wetted-surface air cooled, or the like. Operating methods may impact deterioration in equipment condition, prolong equipment life, extend production operating time, or provide other benefits. Mechanical or digital sensors may be used for monitoring equipment, and sensor data may be programmatically analyzed to identify developing problems. For example, sensors may be used in conjunction with one or more system components to detect and correct maldistribution, cross-leakage, strain, pre-leakage, thermal stresses, fouling, vibration, problems in liquid lifting, conditions that can affect air-cooled exchangers, conditions that can affect a wetted-surface air-cooled heat exchanger, or the like. An operating condition or mode may be adjusted to prolong equipment life or avoid equipment failure.
Metallocene catalyst feed system for solution polymerization process
Methods and systems for solution polymerization. The method can include forming a first mixture stream consisting essentially of at least one catalyst and a process solvent, and forming a second mixture stream consisting essentially of at least one activator and the process solvent. The first mixture stream and the second mixture stream can be fed separately to at least one reaction zone comprising one or more monomers dissolved in the process solvent where the at least one monomers can be polymerized within the at least one reaction zone in the presence of the catalyst, activator and process solvent to produce a polymer product.
Compartmentalized oligomerization reactor
The present invention relates to the field of gas/liquid reactors permitting the oligomerization of olefins to give linear olefins by homogeneous catalysis, comprising a reaction chamber and vertical internal means of compartmentalization.
Creep and cascade failure mitigation in heat pipe reactors
Technique(s) to mitigate creep and/or cascade failure in high temperature heat pipe reactor cores may include gas loading each heat pipe such that when one or more heat pipes in the heat pipe array fail, the adjacent heat pipes can accommodate added heat load with little change in temperature.
Flow reactor
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a flow reactor that can ensure safety even if leakage occurs at the connections of the lines. The flow reactor of the present invention is characterized by including one or more line structures, each of the line structures including a raw material feeding line, a reactor unit to react a raw material fed from the raw material feeding line, and a discharge line to discharge a reaction product produced in the reactor unit, wherein the flow reactor includes a vessel in which part or all of the reactor unit and a fluid are accommodated to be capable of being in contact with each other, wherein each of the line structures includes two or more attachable and detachable connections, and wherein at least one of the attachable and detachable connections is accommodated in the vessel.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING MOISTURE LEAKS OR MOISTURE INGRESS
A system and method for detecting moisture leaks or moisture ingress into industrial processes by using a probe to determine the presence of condensing process gasses, the probe being configured to improve the probe's ability to reduce the leakage of the gas stream being probed.
Method and apparatus for producing high-purity synthetic magnetite by oxidizing metal waste
The invention relates to a method for producing magnetite with a purity of no less than 90% and higher than 98%, by oxidation of pulverized wustite (iron oxide), at temperatures ranging from 200 C. to 800 C., with the addition of water in liquid or steam form, in counter-current or concurrently, in an externally heated reaction chamber with a controlled atmosphere. The amount of water used to oxidize the wustite being 60 to 500 ml per kilogram of wustite, the grains of wustite powder are injected into the reaction chamber having a size no greater than 100 m for optimal reaction.
