CYCLOPENTADIENYL/ADAMANTYL PHOSPHINIMINE ZIRCONIUM AND HAFNIUM COMPLEXES

Provided in this disclosure are zirconium and hafnium complexes that contain 1) a cyclopentadienyl ligand; 2) an adamantyl-phosphinimine ligand; and 3) at least one other ligand. The use of such a complex, in combination with an activator, as an olefin polymerization catalyst is demonstrated. The catalysts are effective for the copolymerization of ethylene with an alpha olefin (such as 1-butene, 1-hexene, or 1-octene).

Catalyst systems and polymerization processes for using the same

A catalyst system including the product of the combination of an unbridged Group 4 metallocene compound and a 2,6-bis(imino)pyridyl iron complex is provided. A process for the polymerization of monomers (such as olefin monomers) and a polymer produced therefrom are also provided.

The alkylation of transition metal coordination catalyst complexes (such as metallocenes and/or post-metallocenes) in non-polar solvents with high conversion to the dialkylated transition metal coordination catalyst complex may be accomplished by reacting (a) a transition metal coordination catalyst complex comprising a transition metal linked to at least one an anionic donor ligand and at least one leaving group having a non-carbon atom directly linked to the transition metal, (b) an aluminum alkyl, and (c) a fluoride salt at 0° C. to 85° C. in a non-polar solvent to yield an alkylated transition metal coordination catalyst complex.

Method of using metal organic framework

A process comprising a heterogenous reaction between a solid metal organic framework supported heteropolyacid catalyst and a hydrocarbon feed to form a modified hydrocarbon stream. The modified hydrocarbon stream comprises essentially of C6+ hydrocarbons.

HOMOGENEOUS SINGLE SITE CATALYST AND ITS USE IN PREPARING LINEAR POLYETHYLENE

The present invention discloses a homogeneous, single site catalyst of formula (I) and a process for preparation thereof using a ligand. The present invention further discloses a process for preparation of linear polyethylene of high molecular weight and degree of crystallinity by using the homogeneous, single site catalyst of formula I.

ZIRCONIUM- AND HAFNIUM-BASED METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS AS EPOXIDE RING-OPENING CATALYSTS

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and method of using the MOFs to catalyze reactions involving epoxide ring-opening mechanisms are provided. The structure of the MOFs can be represented by the formula: M.sub.6(μ.sub.3-ligand).sub.8(OH.sub.x).sub.8(TBAPy).sub.2, where M is Zr or Hf, the ligands are selected from hydroxo-, oxo- and aquo-ligands, and x is independently selected from 1 or 2.

METHOD FOR THE CONVERSION OF NITROUS ACID TO DINITROGEN GAS

The present application is directed to a method for the conversion of nitrous acid to dinitrogen gas. In particular, the present application relates to a method for the conversion of nitrous acid to dinitrogen gas by contacting the nitrous acid with an amine-functionalized metal organic framework.

Novel catalytic compositions are disclosed comprising novel unsymmetrical metallocene catalytic compounds. Also disclosed are uses of such catalytic compositions in olefin polymerisation reactions, as well as processes of polymerising olefins. When compared with the prior art compositions, the catalytic compositions of the invention are markedly more active in the polymerisation of olefins.

Transition metal bis(phenolate) complexes and their use as catalysts for olefin polymerization

This invention relates to transition metal complexes of a dianionic, tridentate ligand that features a central neutral heterocyclic Lewis base and two phenolate donors, where the tridentate ligand coordinates to the metal center to form two eight-membered rings. Preferably the bis(phenolate) complexes are represented by Formula (I): ##STR00001##
