Hydrothermally and thermally stable catalytic materials based on theta-alumina

A material and a method of making hydrothermally stable (catalytic) materials on the basis of theta-alumina support that is thermally and hydrothermally stable up to 1,150 C with metal, mixed metal-, metal-oxide nanoparticles dispersed upon it. Such materials did not lose significant amounts of their catalytic activity at temperature ranges for industrially relevant applications (including hydrocarbon oxidation, nitric oxide reduction, carbon monoxide oxidation) even after hydrothermal aging up to 1,150 C.

Photocatalytic fluidized bed reactor systems

The Invention describes photocatalytic reactor systems that employ fluidization of the photocatalyst. These systems are useful for performing chemical transformations on a chemical containing fluid, including for VOCs. Aspects of the invention include non-imaging optics, abrasion resistant coatings and photoreactor designs.

Size-reversing materials for reforming in cyclic flow reactors

Systems and methods are provided for using size-reversing materials in vessels where direct heating is used to at least partially provide heat for reforming reactions under cyclic reforming conditions. An example of a size-reversing material is the combination of NiO and Al.sub.2O.sub.3. It has been discovered that size-reversing materials can undergo a phase transition that can assist with re-dispersion of metal at elevated temperatures. This can assist with maintaining catalytic activity for reforming over longer time periods in the presence of cyclic reforming conditions.

FLUID CATALYTIC CRACKING ADDITIVE COMPOSITION FOR ENHANCED BUTYLENES SELECTIVITY OVER PROPYLENE

Disclosed herein in certain embodiments is a fluid catalyst cracking (FCC) additive composition that includes a first component, a second component, and optionally a third component. The first component includes beta zeolite and a first matrix. The second component includes ZSM-5 zeolite and a second matrix. The third component includes Y zeolite and a third matrix. The components are present in the additive composition in a range that provides for enhanced butylenes to propylene selectivity ratio and total butylenes yield when catalytically cracking a hydrocarbon feed.

Method for the synthesis of a ZSM-22 zeolite, a metal containing zeolite and its application in hydromerization of long chain n-paraffins

The present invention provides a process for preparing a zeolite by hydrothermal heating of silica precursor and alumina precursor along with a combination of two structure-directing organic templates, N,N-dimethyl formamide and 1,6-diaminohexane in the presence of an alkali. The use of two structure-directing organic templates, not only reduces the crystallization time but also enables the preparation of more catalytically active ZSM-22 of submicron crystallite size. The present invention also provides a process of preparing a noble metal containing zeolite catalyst for hydroisomerization of long chain n-paraffins.
