Olefin production via dry reforming and olefin synthesis in a vessel
A system and method for producing olefin via dry reforming and olefin synthesis in the same vessel, including providing feed including methane and carbon dioxide to the vessel, converting methane and carbon dioxide in the vessel into syngas (that includes hydrogen and carbon monoxide) via dry reforming in the vessel, and cooling the syngas via a heat exchanger in the vessel. The method includes synthesizing olefin from the syngas in the vessel, wherein the olefin includes ethylene, propylene, or butene, or any combinations thereof.
FILTRATION TRAY FOR CATALYTIC CHEMICAL REACTOR
A particle separation system for a catalytic chemical reactor.
Radial flow reactor
The present disclosure relates to a radial flow reactor including a pair of beds configured to produce a product by processing a raw material supplied thereto. A substance being produced or the product is movable between the pair of beds before the product is moved to a separate reservoir. The ratio of the area of an outlet with respect to the area of an inlet in each of the pair of beds is adjusted such that, when the substance being produced or the product is introduced into the outlet of one bed of the pair of beds from the other bed of the pair of beds, limited processing efficiency caused by the limited area of the outlet in each of the pair of beds is overcome.
Multi-Stage Device and Process for Production of a Low Sulfur Heavy Marine Fuel Oil
A multi-stage process for the production of an ISO 8217 compliant Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil from ISO 8217 compliant Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil involving a Reaction System composed of one or more reactor vessels selected from a group reactor wherein said one or more reactor vessels contains one or more reaction sections configured to promote the transformation of the Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil to the Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil has a Environmental Contaminate level has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) between the range of 0.05 mass % to 1.0 mass. A process plant for conducting the process for conducting the process is disclosed that can utilize a modular reactor vessel.
TRIFUNCTIONAL PROCESSES IN CATALYTIC DISTILLATION
A process for the production of alkyl ethers including feeding a hydrocarbon feedstock and a first alcohol feedstock to a fixed bed reactor containing an etherification catalyst. The hydrocarbon feedstock and the first alcohol feedstock are contacted in the first fixed bed reactor to react the isoolefins with the alcohol in the presence of the etherification catalyst to produce a first product stream. The first product stream is fed together with a hydrogen feedstock and a second alcohol feedstock to a catalytic distillation reaction system containing a trifunctional catalyst to concurrently isomerize at least a portion of the alpha-olefins, hydrogenate at least a portion of the diolefins, and etherify at least a portion of the isoolefins and alcohol, producing a bottoms product comprising the one or more ethers and an overhead product comprising n-alkanes, isoalkanes, unreacted alpha-olefins, unreacted internal-olefins, unreacted isoolefins, and unreacted alcohol.
MULTI-BED CATALYTIC REACTOR
A multi-bed catalytic reactor, particularly for the synthesis of ammonia, wherein the beds have an annular shape, the first bed has L(1)*(V/V(1)) equal to or greater than 50 wherein L(1) is the slenderness ratio of the first bed which is calculated as the axial length over the radial width; V is the total volume of the beds of the reactor and V(1) is the volume of the first bed.
Method and device for carrying out endothermic gas phase-solid or gas-solid reactions
The present invention relates to a process for conducting endothermic gas phase or gas-solid reactions, wherein the endothermic reaction is conducted in a production phase in a first reactor zone, the production zone, which is at least partly filled with solid particles, where the solid particles are in the form of a fixed bed, of a moving bed and in sections/or in the form of a fluidized bed, and the product-containing gas stream is drawn off from the production zone in the region of the highest temperature level plus/minus 200 K and the product-containing gas stream is guided through a second reactor zone, the heat recycling zone, which at least partly comprises a fixed bed, where the heat from the product-containing gas stream is stored in the fixed bed, and, in the subsequent purge step, a purge gas is guided through the production zone and the heat recycling zone in the same flow direction, and, in a heating zone disposed between the production zone and the heat recycling zone, the heat required for the endothermic reaction is introduced into the product-containing gas stream and into the purge stream or into the purge stream, and then, in a regeneration phase, a gas is passed through the two reactor zones in the reverse flow direction and the production zone is heated up; the present invention further relates to a structured reactor comprising three zones, a production zone containing solid particles, a heating zone and a heat recycling zone containing a fixed bed, wherein the solid particles and the fixed bed consist of different materials.
Method for inter-bed cooling in wet gas sulfuric acid plants
In a method for cooling of process gas between catalytic layers or beds in a sulfuric acid plant, in which sulfuric acid is produced from feed gases containing sulfurous components like SO.sub.2, H.sub.2S, CS.sub.2 and COS or liquid feeds like molten sulfur or spent sulfuric acid, one or more boilers, especially water tube boilers, are used instead of conventional steam superheaters to cool the process gas between the catalytic beds in the SO.sub.2 converter of the plant. Thereby a less complicated and more cost efficient heat exchanger layout is obtained.
