SENSING VESSELS FOR CELL CULTURES

A sensing cell culture vessel having one or more sensors on or in the vessel is configured to collect readings of various parameters or characteristics of a cell culture located within the sensing cell culture vessel and transmit the readings. The sensing cell culture vessels may be accompanied by a sensing plate having means for reading the one or more sensors and transmitting the one or more sensors to a server hosting electronic lab notebook for analyzing and storage of the readings. Sensing plates may further be equipped with cameras for imaging cell cultures located in the sensing cell culture vessels and transmitting the images to the server hosting the electronic lab notebook for analyzing and storage of the images. Embodiments of the invention allow for the continuous and automatic monitoring of cell cultures.

MULTI-THREADED FLUID PARAMETER SIGNAL PROCESSING

A data receiver thread is continuously executed to receive in which signals indicating a fluid parameter. A predetermined time quantity of the signals is repeatedly buffered. Upon completion of the buffering of each predetermined time quantity of the signals, a data processing thread is initiated that executes on the just completed buffered predetermined time quantity of signals. Upon completion of each data processing thread, data from the just completed data processing thread is passed to a data plotting thread. Results of the data plotting thread are displayed on a portable electronic device while the data receiver thread is being executed.

MICROFLUIDICS DETECTION

A method of microfluidic detection can include detecting, using an impedance sensor, an impedance of a fluid to indicate whether a threshold amount of fluid has been received in a reservoir of a microfluidic chip. The method can include initiating a test performed by the microfluidic chip on the received fluid when the threshold amount of fluid has been received.

Laboratory system, laboratory sample distribution system and laboratory automation system

A laboratory system for a laboratory automation system is presented. The laboratory system comprises a sample container carrier. The sample container carrier is configured to carry a laboratory sample container and comprises a removal detector. The removal detector is configured to interact with the laboratory sample container to detect a removal of the carried laboratory sample container from the sample container carrier. Furthermore, the laboratory system is configured to determine based on the detected removal that a before valid logic assignment of the sample container carrier to the carried laboratory sample container is invalid.

Use of microfluidic reader device for product authentication

A microfluidic device that reads a colloidal mixture and separates the colloids based upon size and shape. and in the case of polymer colloids such as DNA, it reads patterns of markers attached to DNA. The combination of different separated fractions and DNA markers (it mapping) constitutes the physical code.

ANTIBODY FLUID DEPOSITS

In one example an apparatus can include a controller communicatively coupled to a droplet dispenser to deposit antibody fluid on a matrix of an immunoblotting array, the controller is to align the droplet dispenser with a protein band included in the matrix, instruct the droplet dispenser to deposit a first antibody fluid on to the protein band of the matrix, and instruct the droplet dispenser to deposit a second antibody fluid on to the protein band of the matrix, adjacent to the first antibody fluid.

Device for use in fluid sample analysis

The present invention relates to a device (10) for use in fluid sample analysis. It is described to position (310) a top part (20) of the device (10) adjacent to a base part (30) of the device so as to define a fluidic receiving region in between, the top part being provided with a through opening fluidly connected to the fluidic receiving region, and the bottom part being provided with a radiation window adjacent to the fluidic receiving region. A fluidic sample is supplied (320) through the opening (24). The fluidic sample is moved laterally (330) in the fluid receiving region without the use of an intermediary membrane between the top part and the base part. A radiation is emitted (340) to the fluid receiving region. A radiation is detected (350) that is reflected by the device. A presence of the fluidic sample is determined (360) on the basis of a measured reflectance value based on the detected radiation.

CARTRIDGES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Cartridges and related systems and methods are disclosed. In accordance with an implementation, a method includes securing a sample container in a sample container receptacle of a cartridge using a sample container lock and coupling the cartridge to a cartridge receptacle of a system. The method also includes depositing a sample from the sample container within a sample well of the cartridge and determining a presence of a target molecule within the sample using the system. In response to the target molecule being present within the sample, the method includes releasing the sample container lock of the cartridge to allow the sample container to be removed from the sample container receptacle and for the cartridge to remain coupled to the system.
