TIP DEVICE, TIP CONTAINER SET, TIP ELECTRODE APPARATUS, AND TIP ELECTRODE SET
A tip device (1) includes a tubular tip (6) and a base (8) that is continuous with a rear end (6a) of the tip (6) and includes a first connector. The first connector detachably connects to a second connector provided in a container (2) to house the tip (6).
SAMPLING NOZZLE, AUTOMATIC ANALYZER USING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAMPLING NOZZLE
A CTS nozzle achieves the object of reducing rubber chips produced when the CTS nozzle is inserted into and extracted from a rubber plug of a sample container during dispensing of a sample, thereby inhibiting the wear of the tip of the CTS nozzle. The CTS nozzle has two cut surfaces at its tip, and the pressure applied from the rubber when the nozzle is inserted into the rubber plug is dispersed onto the two cut surfaces without being deflected onto one of the cut surfaces. The pressure applied to the nozzle due to the resilience of the rubber being pushed away by the nozzle is thus dispersed and the rubber chips produced by the friction between the cut surfaces of the nozzle and the rubber are reduced. As a result of the reduced friction, the wear of the tip of the nozzle is minimized.
VERTICAL MICROFLUIDIC PROBE HEAD WITH LARGE SCALE SURFACE PROCESSING APERTURES
One or more embodiments of the present invention are directed to a vertical microfluidic probe head, which comprises a middle layer of material and two outer layers. The middle layer comprises two opposite, main surfaces, which are, each, grooved up to a same edge surface that adjoins each of the main surfaces, so as to form two sets of n microchannel cavities, n≧1, on each of the opposite main surfaces. The middle layer is furthermore arranged between the two outer layers, which (at least partly) close the microchannel cavities grooved on the two main surfaces. This way, two sets of n microchannels are formed, which are, each, open on the edge surface, such that two opposite sets of n orifices are formed on the edge surface. Thus, the length of the apertures is not limited by the thickness of the middle layer.
Controlling traffic without integrating with a security vendor
Embodiments are directed to providing access without determining an identity of a requester. A fixture may receive a rule pertaining to access to a floor of a building. The fixture may receive a request to access the floor of the building. The fixture may grant access to the floor based on a determination that the rule indicates that access to the floor should be granted.
NANO-DROPLET PLATE
A low-cost method is provided for fabricating a nano-droplet plate with surface features having re-entrant (anvil-like) geometries capable of holding droplets of a precise, predetermined volume. Such structures are useful for a variety of applications, including cull culturing, high-throughput screening of therapeutics and as microwells.
Functionalized microfluidic device and method
A microfluidic platform and method are provided. The microfluidic platform includes a base having an outer surface and a plurality of wells formed in the outer surface thereof for receiving fluid therein. The plurality of wells are in fluid communication with each other. A lid includes a plurality of channels having corresponding inputs and outputs. The lid is moveable between a first position wherein the lid is disengaged from the base and a second position wherein the inputs of each channel communicate with corresponding wells in the base. The fluid in each well is drawn into corresponding channels through the inputs thereof by capillary action.
Device for cell spraying
The invention provides a description of a method and a device suitable for producing a cell suspension spray with living cells, and the produced cell preparation, suitable for grafting to a patient. In contrast to other methods, the spraying is performed through a disposable needle which is inserted into a disposable air tube; which provides a cell distribution avoiding spray nozzles. Small suspension droplets are provided instead of cell nebulization. By using medical grade sterile Luer-lock disposables from medical routine praxis, biocompatibility and easy application is addressed. In applying the method and/or in using the device, cells suitable for grafting to a patient are dispersed in a solution and sprayed with the device for distribution over the recipient graft site.
Integrated electrowetting nano-injector and aspirator
A new simple transfection method using an integrated electrowetting nano-injector (INENI) with controlled dosage delivery and high transfection efficiency is disclosed. The volume of delivery can be controlled via voltage application to an inner and outer electrode integrated into a nano-pipette. With higher voltages, more liquid enters the INENI and with lower voltages liquid is expelled. This method can be used to deliver plasmid DNA directly into the nuclei of cells. The INENI requires only the use of a single probe since both electrodes are integrated into the same nano-pipette. Hence, more space is available, and ergo the INENI offers a simplistic means for direct injection of metered amounts of exogenous material into the confines of a cell cytoplasm and/or nucleus while retaining full cell viability.
Vertical microfluidic probe head with large scale surface processing apertures
One or more embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method for processing a surface with a vertical microfluidic probe head. The method includes positioning the microfluidic probe head so as for the edge surface to face a surface to be processed. Next, the method dispenses processing liquid via each orifice of the first one of the sets of n orifices, so as for the dispensed processing liquid to process the surface; and aspirates liquid via each orifice of the second one of the sets of n orifices.
